When I was a kid we held a quates tournament with my parents and all their high school and work friends. My dad and Uncle were somehow friendly with George the Animal Steele. Through that connection we had George, Jimmy Snuka, Jimmy Valiant, and Nikolai himself there at my house. To top it all off instead of the US national anthem to start off the tourney, Nikolai sang the Russian National anthem.
I still don’t get why the hammer and sickle was left off the flag. I get being politically correct but I’ve never heard of a single person who expressed they were offended over the Soviet flag. And they censor that but somehow RVD in the rising sun attire and Chief Jay make it all the way through production.
Classic 80s anti-American heel. Nikolai was very underrated and underappreciated. I would love to see a Million dollar Corporation Nikolai from 95. That would be great. I dont have a Volkoff in my collection, but I will one day.
Really enjoyed this video Kyle but in my fig federation Nikolai had the upset of the century beating hulk Hogan for the world title he was my champion for a very long time in my federation it took the old hulkster a while to regain the title LOL great number one pick would have been my choice
Great list as always. I've only had 4 volkoff figures so my list would be. 4. Jakks classic superstar series 5. The jakks figures we're beautiful figures but it sucked having a fig fed with them. 3. Mattel legends toys r us exclusive 2 pack. This was the most used figure of his for me. I felt he was a little small for volkoff. 2. LJN I got mine used and he was a little beat up I felt he was a little small for him too. 1. Mattel elite legends from target. I felt he looked a little bigger than the toys r us figure.
You should do a top 5 toy stores from yester years. The store must be closed and out of business, so Toys R Us would not count since they have a presence internationally.
No joke, Volkoff married the girl that lived across the alley from my grandma in Hammond, IN. They instantly recognized him when they saw him. Plus, my family was originally from Croatia, Volkoff was a big deal to them

Definitely a favorite bad guy for me in the 80s.. a definite must own in my collection. I have the 2 pk loose and a freddie.
