First I want to say I get you personally want new stuff in the game secondly alot of people get the word Remake wrong and I dont blame them cus companies use these words willy nilly in there titles
We should make official rules that say they can only use words that fit there game cus the Resident Evil Remakes aren't Remakes they are Re-imagines I will explain the words now
Ports are just games that have been brought / ported over to modern consoles without anything changed
Remasters are literally the same old games but they have upgraded the graphics and effects
Remakes are exactly the same as the original games that is why this Metal Gaer Solid Delta is the same cus its a Remake of MGS3 the only thing stopping Remakes from being Remasters is they are rebuilt from the ground up instead of building on top of the original game like a Remaster it also has upgraded controls and new game macanics
Re-imagines are different takes on old games so the Resident Evil Remakes shouldn't be called Remakes cus they change alot of the story and areas in the games, they Re-imagined what they wanted the games to be like nowadays instead of making them 1 for 1 / Remakes
Reboots is when they start the franchise over again the other games dont count anymore and they can do completely different games they dont even have to use the same characters or story if they don't want like If Resident Evil did a Reboot they could say Voodoo created the Zombies and they could use completely new characters
The problem with bringing back old games is do they change things like the Resident Evil 2 Remake (Re-imagine) or do they make it a true Remake by not changing anything cus some people were complaining they changed alot of the story and locations in the Resident Evil Remakes
It looks like Silent Hill 2 Remake is more of a Re-imagine cus we can see in the gameplay trailer they have changed some locations
The problem is some people want them to change the game a bit but then some of the older fans hate changes they just want the same game in better graphics and controls so companies cant please everyone
They said they wanted to Remake the games cus some spoilt gamers wont play incredible games cus of there old graphics and game macanics I will play games no matter how old they are but yeah they are trying to get a new generation into Metal Gear Solid
Yeah I definitely was convinced that this was been built from the ground up. I agree, those terms should be industry standard as it gets really confusing.
I think the fact that they've just released the vol 1, that to release this so close to that as a remaster seemed absurd but clearly not, just chasing money.
I understand updating games for a younger audience and I've tried playing old games and there's a reason that games have progressed the way they have, but then remake or reboot the game, don't just give it a paint job.
It's not a clone it's the remake of the original
I meant more that it feels like they've made it more of a remaster than a remake, I know this is only a small peak but I was hoping for some new elements alongside the original ones.

@adrian_shepherd4003 to be fair, maybe my title needs to be clearer anyway. I honestly thought it was a remaster, I think it's because there's been a few recently I just wrongly assumed. Thank you for clarifying 👍🏻
