If you are serious you will drive for both. Run both apps at the same time, accept a request when it comes and turn off the other app. It means that you won't wait as long between rides.
Yep. Sure does. All they have to do is pick a fake destination to destination to see whose paying more. I ALWAYS make way more with Lyft and fewer rides. I only have to give 3 rides to make 70 on a regular basis in SF
Lyft has a better vibe, tips and Lyft pays a higher percentage to the driver than Uber. Every driver I meet that does both has said they like the people from Lyft more too.
Wrong, Lyft pays no more than Uber. In fact, Uber has long pickup fees, Lyft does not. Lyft steals more from drivers by keeping majority of all tips and by not showing rides/fares on 2-3 rides per day.

I've been driving for 10 months with over 1100 ride. - I drive for Uber and Lyft part time. I've preferred uber most of the time because of way more business and the per ride income is slightly higher. But lyft has recently been becoming better business wise. - I love the uber app over Lyft functionally. - Uber also has guaranteed boost zone during certain parts of the week in certain areas where i drive. I pick you up in that boost area, i get anywhere between 1.2 to 1.9x (20-90%) more whatever the trip would cost just because. - Lyft as also started doing this in certain markets so it evens out the playing field. - I can make anywhere between $17-25 an hour a week when i average my time and income out. some markets are more. some less. just all depends on where you drive, what time of day, how many other drivers and how busy it is.
Xylven are you that brainwashed ? Even though NK has a nuclear arsenal, it's military comes from the Cold War. Even if a war occurs, SK has the protection of the USA. Not to mention that the SK army is way more technologically advanced. Don't believe the NK threats. If they knew they would win, they would undoubtedly already invade SK. Focus more on the Turkey current situation that is way more preoccuping.
If you're just getting started go with lyft, they get back to you faster and won't have you jump through a million hoops before you're even hired. They'll literally send you a debit card in the mail, have you set up direct deposit and watch orientation videos before they will ever pay you a dime. They'll steal your time and give you a giant headache
I've been using them both for almost 2 years now and have yet to have a single incident, about 400 trips or so. I've talked w drivers who have used both and most say they like Lyft.
Personally, driving for Lyft is my side hustle, and I average $20-$25/hr in the PNW, that's including tips, even after gas, oil changes, and any other relevant maintenance, it's still with it for me... I do most of my preventative maintenance as well, and my car is paid off. This shouldn't be your main source of income but more of a second source of income.
I like Lyft better. But in the burbs they are far and few between. Uber it seems ur dealing with the lowest of the low of society. Drunks, dui's, rehab people, more drunks, disrespectful college students, etc. So if u want to have the most dangerous minimum wage job ever here are a few more things that happened in my first 6 weeks. I've been punched in the head, had a gun pulled on a customer who stiffed his dealer, cursed at, verbally abused numerous times, been used as a drug dealer car, and literally picked up someone fleeing from the police, people try to eat, drink and smoke in my brand new car, had moms smack/abuse their kids, had moms not bring child carrier, had pregnant lady who I had to rush to the er, had a suicidal guy, ankle monitors, And of course they don't tip because they feel their $8 door to door ride is a fortune to them so it must be to u. And my car was totaled by a guy texting and driving who plowed straight into the back of us just a month ago. We Got put in the hospital but what's even worse is dealing with uber's insurance company. It literally added insult to injury.
I drive lyft but do uber eats in south Florida Uber has kinda the worse reputation here because it usually older people driving were lyft is more of a younger crowd driving... also there has been more uber accident that I know of then lyft... especially driving after Miami music week (ultra) I seen 2 head on Collision happen on which was a uber driver.
Exactly.....these are predator employers stealing from those just trying to make a little extra money and those trying to survive. Both companies are not on the up and up.....very shady apps and business operations.
I drove for Uber when I first moved to LA, I’ve made from $1,600 working 50 hours, I’ve made $320 working 13 hours a week. You can make decent money in the right area. And that was just my side job. I was making bank. But I moved out of LA and back to Tallahassee. I have been thinking about driving for Uber here, but it probably wouldn’t pay as well as it did in LA where a lot of people don’t have vehicles.
I'm a lyft driver. I drive a base model trailblazer and only work during the night on average I pull about 400/week after gas costs the Detroit fair rates are not the greatest for a midsized suv .75¢/mile and .1125¢/minute so it depends on how far you are willing to go
I began driving for Lyft on 1705.08. It's fun part-time work. I enjoy driving and am a good driver. Lyft takes 25% of the gross income. (They don't touch the tips.) It takes about $40 to fill my tank, so I have to earn about $50 just to cover my gas. I want to earn a minimum of $100 net each time I go out driving, so I need to gross $125. Therefore, I need to gross about $175 to net $100. It sometimes takes about 10 hours to reach $175 gross. Since that's really only a net of $100, I'm earning about $10 an hour. Take out taxes and vehicle maintenance and I'm only earning about $5 an hour. Hmmm. Although it's a fun part-time job, It doesn't seem worth the struggle, does it?
Lyft wins for me. My Lyft rating is higher because it asks customers to rate by keeping a pop-up rating screen for 24 - 48 hours after the ride. Riders still aren't required to rate though, but the Lyft app auto rates to 5-stars after that time. For a newer driver like me, or someone picking up in a new area- that's really important! Uber needs to do this too. Another thing about Lyft, I like, is that I can do it in most other states without having to reapply initially. Lyft gives me a few months grace period in a new state, unlike little Uber.
If your at Disney Parks but you don’t want to wait for a shuttle to bring you to the parks, surely while transportation is provided for free and takes more time, Uber and Lyft cost like $20 to $30 bucks and gets you there quick. I personally take the shuttle so I can hear the all classical “Hello Everyone! Welcome to the Walt Disney World Transportation System!” spiel. Yes, I’m a Disney fan, so??
Surge pricing is criminal and a slap in the face to all their customers. Thank you so much for requesting our services, we appreciate so much that while things are toughest for you we will jack up your rate 2-300 times!
I actually prefer taxis. They are about the same price as both Uber/Lyft in my town, but with better, faster drivers. They also have a quicker response time. My city isn't big, but Uber drivers sometimes take over 20mins to reach you. The longest a taxi ever took for me was 7min.
I did an experiment while waiting at the airport for a run here in Charlotte. I turned both on and was at 24 que position with both. I waited and waited, but finally got a call to pick up someone on Uber. I checked my position on Lyft and was still at 20.
I'm Uber by far. Their prices are usually better for miles driven and in my area Uber is always the fastest to show up. Not that Lyft is bad or anything. Just where I live in Flint Iberia is better.
I think it depends on where you are as to how prominent Lyft is compared to Uber. Here in MN it seems easier to find an Uber driver over a Lyft driver. I had scheduled a Lyft ride, it told me the ride was confirmed but then it was cancelled day of because there weren't any drivers around. So I then used Uber and was able to find someone right away. Granted it was at 3:30am. So I know there aren't a whole lot of drivers around at that point anyway, but I still needed to get to the airport. I am going to try driving with both and see how it goes.
I use Lyft. Uber banned me after hitting submit. I didn’t even get to type my credit card in. Lyft is much better though and it’s here in Florida. You didn’t put a pin there.
Who is Better to drive for? Uber or Lyft? I say it depends on what city you're driving in. Uber takes 20% of total fare and Lyft takes 30% of fare from drivers who signed up after 2011. I've had Lyft switch passengers on me in a middle of going to a pickup location which is unfair, and Lyft also adds extra rides to my Queue that I did not accept. In the end, I say that Uber has a better platform in terms of not switching passengers, and the app always asks me to commit to another ride rather than just automatically adding it like Lyft does.
I worked for uber for a little while. I want to get back in the mix. I picked up about 5 ppl in one day and said I'm tired and went home ;) I would like to lease a vehicle I have a regular job but I can do uber for my side hustle and pay for a new car with those earnings
Well Lyft has turned up paying less than Uber. Big reason is that they don’t charge extra for drivers to drive to long destinations to pick up a customer. I shut off Lyft and now I make around 25% more. Best move I ever did.
down fall with Lyft is you pay full tolls for sitting at DFW airport, Example you sit and wait for a ride, your cost to leave the airport is $8 , you take the passanger to drop off, Lyft gets 30% of ride you get $18, so now you made $10 for 2 hrs of work , and you still have to deduct 20% for gas and car expenses. !!
At 4:40 why tf do they represent a Prius with a mixture of a 70 challenger and a 69 camaro with a wide body kit on it. Last time I checked a Prius is not as badass as the camaro or challenger. Have a Prius be represented by a potato or the actual car.
I drive for both but here in Boulder/ Fort Collins Colorado Lyft only takes 25% of our pay where uber charges the pax more but takes 25% plus booking fee plus service fee. Lyft pays better but Uber has more riders on average. (Fort Collins) 7 miles rides (most or our rides) = Uber pax pays $7.19 Uber gets $3.82, driver gets $3.37 (uber takes 52% on minimum rides). Lyft pax pay $5.14, Lyft gets $1.29 driver gets $3.85. BOTH ARE OFF MY PAY STUB off the programs!
i can say from experience uber is charging drivers a %35 fee starting February 2017 if the far is $10.00 the driver gets payed $6.50 and thats before taxes and all drivers for all the services minchend in this video are independent couriers.
I like Lyft. They tend to be cheaper and easier to find. In the night time, Lyft usually has a led light on the dash so you are able to spot it out easier, unlike Uber.
LYFT is the best because they don't advertise you don't have to tip drivers. In my city drivers need to educate riders about how to use and tip drivers. I'm doing my best to lead the education so drivers can enjoy a more healthy tip policy.
Lyft pays their drivers better and their ratings system is fairer. Only drawback with Lyft in Houston is that it's relatively new so here so there aren't many drivers which causes more surge times.
I always use uber every nite because the have promotion to get a ride home, lyfe is cheep too, when a driver cancel on u, it a 10.00 fee coming out of you account. Uber only 5.75 Tha is better but it probably better to ride lyfe on a busy nite when there is a surge with uber.
I started out with Sidecar, it wasn't that great, but they started the pool service then Uber and Lyft came later. Lyft was pretty good two years ago, now they don't get as much passenger as Uber, but Uber charge you 25% so they not the best, its about even
In my Western Massachusetts experience (3 weeks as a driver for Lyft) as a Lyft driver the amount of money I earn is very little. Some days I drive about 100 miles and earn about $50.00 or $60.00...then buy gasoline with that. Lyft often takes about 40% of the total fare.
Erik C It’s more like 40% they take. 25% is the bait they use to get drivers. You do a $10 ride, they keep $4+of the $10. They always try to scam you out of rides you’ve given, by having them not show up in app.
Rich Hunter Exactly right.....they lie to get people to signup to drive for them, then take almost half for every fair. They have the same business model as the trucking industry. They want 90% turnover, that way they keep ill informed people that are unwise to their crooked business practices.
Nobody wears Jordan's... Nike or Adidas only. Adidas is more popular though if I count in the clothing as well. I feel like Jordan's are only worn in America the most...A lot of people don't even know Jordan's exist in north EU and Russia.
I used to do uber, I was averaging $3 an hour take home. Now I'm doing lyft, im averaging $6 to $9 an hour. Minimum wage is $12 an hour now, both companies are paying less than minimum wage, but at least lyft pays little bit more than uber.
3 bucks an hour?? Lol how? You gotta know when to work. Like early morning and after work hours. I made 800 bucks this past week with uber with 21 completed trips, and about 15 hours online time, granted I'm in downtown Houston and the surges can get crazy but that's the only time I work, I don't do trips if they're not at least 1.6 surge
I PREFER LYFT AS A DRIVER CAUSE WE HAVE DISCOUNTS IN GAS, MOVIE TICKETS AND ANOTHER PERKS. ALSO, WE PROVIDE BETTER SERVICE TO PASSENGERS. SOME OF THEM TOLD ME BAD EXPERIENCES RIDING WITH UBER.
nice new intro. amazing channel. keep it up guys. please do one about cars. im a massice petrol head. also topgear fan. and F1 MANIAC please do cars. like Ferrari 488 vs Lamborghini huracan or bugatto chiron vs koenigsegg regera
In Los Angeles CA Lift pays better and better passengers Lift drivers says . I dont know but if UBER KEEP MESSING AND CONTROLING MY TRIP REQUEST THEN IM GOING TO LYFT .
I've used Lyft. Their drivers are nice and competent however I can't get over the feeling that they're being used as corporate pawns due to their not doing the math. If and when the minimum wage for a job reaches or goes over $12./hr. both Uber and Lyft may have problems finding drivers.

I almost always use Lyft. Cheaper, and I prefer supporting the little guy to encourage competition 😀
Where do u live
Use and drive Lyft only, Uber is crazy in LA
mattdyer0 That's what's so great about America. Its the better and cheaper service plus quality that will come out on top.
technical mandeep Unless there is a surge, Uber is cheaper.
MC Ride she must have sudden link!
*Taxis are better* - said nobody ever
I do! I never ride Ubers, only taxis. I only use Uber if im with somebody else and they called it, otherwise its taxi, ride or walk.
Lorenzo Bolla de Oliveira -- Can you explain why?
taxis suck.Much more expensive and(at least where I live) most of the time they will scam you to get more money

UPS - assholes. I wouldn't help a UPS employee if they keeled over on the side of the road.
Hassan Rouhani Why? :(
Hassan Rouhani
You're an idiot the billionaires get rich and you dumb ass drivers hate the other drivers that are working hard to make a living
They both need to treat their drivers better but taxis are overpriced so ridesharing wins.
I drove for Uber for 6 months and switched over to Lyft. No comparison - Lyft beats Uber hands down!
Why
What was the Differences
But why?? We need details
Ask a driver what's better. Answer, neither since both pay garbage in most markets.
Yep.
David Revan Actually Uber pays more seeing as its more popular and more people take Uber.
not for me
Neither pays drivers well. And most passengers are stingy MFs as they don't tip.
Wrong, Lyft pays no more than Uber. In fact, Uber has long pickup fees, Lyft does not. Lyft steals more from drivers by keeping majority of all tips and by not showing rides/fares on 2-3 rides per day.

What are these window stickers you talk of?
Jay Nosh Many Uber's put a sticker of the Uber logo on their window so the rider can easily identify them. I'm guessing same thing for lyft
George Holmes To add onto that, the driver can customize the color the uber sticker makes. As for lyft, I dont use it
They are called the TRADE DRESS. You have to have them on the front and back window to be identified as legit. You will get a ticket if you don't.
Thats what I said! At least here in Chile Ubers don't have those stickers

At 4:40 why tf do they represent a Prius with a mixture of a 70 challenger and a 69 camaro with a wide body kit on it. Last time I checked a Prius is not as badass as the camaro or challenger. Have a Prius be represented by a potato or the actual car.
Julian Tijero, Last time I checked new muscle cars are only 1% less ass than Priuses
Julian Tijero lol
I don't always uber,but when I do I prefer Dos Equis
Lyft is opening in anchorage Alaska , Fairbanks Alaska, and Juneau Alaska tomorrow !
I vote 4 Uber vs lyft as my like choice since my experienced start comparitive as the better of general one !
I got an Uber ad before this video...
Cat Shark lol they are trying to get you on their side
i can say from experience uber is charging drivers a %35 fee starting February 2017 if the far is $10.00 the driver gets payed $6.50 and thats before taxes and all drivers for all the services minchend in this video are independent couriers.
I’ll just drive my BMW. If I have to be driven, I’ll use a local car service. The apps (Lyft, Uber, Blacklane) all suck.
Great video as usual. can you tell me the software used to make these animated videos?
I Don t know for other countries but here in Monaco there is Uber Helicopter.
I like Lyft. They tend to be cheaper and easier to find. In the night time, Lyft usually has a led light on the dash so you are able to spot it out easier, unlike Uber.
I love taking lyft
lyft is usually cheaper where i live. also i occasionally can receive free rides through t-mobile teusdays
With both companies now public. You can now really compare them. But with coronavirus it be hard to tell which is better.
Uber. as a driver and passenger. I think Uber is better. IF LYFT was bigger in my state. I'd go with LYFT.
MetroplexC70 why
LYFT is the best because they don't advertise you don't have to tip drivers. In my city drivers need to educate riders about how to use and tip drivers. I'm doing my best to lead the education so drivers can enjoy a more healthy tip policy.
Lyft pays their drivers better and their ratings system is fairer. Only drawback with Lyft in Houston is that it's relatively new so here so there aren't many drivers which causes more surge times.
how would I even like without this channel
Please do a comparison with Chevrolet and Ford PLEASE!
I’ve never used either, what does everyone think is better?
I personally think Uber is better
I use Lyft because the service is more affordable than that of Uber.
I always use uber every nite because the have promotion to get a ride home, lyfe is cheep too, when a driver cancel on u, it a 10.00 fee coming out of you account. Uber only 5.75 Tha is better but it probably better to ride lyfe on a busy nite when there is a surge with uber.
This is best
channel
I started out with Sidecar, it wasn't that great, but they started the pool service then Uber and Lyft came later. Lyft was pretty good two years ago, now they don't get as much passenger as Uber, but Uber charge you 25% so they not the best, its about even
But lyft treats me better and has better promotions because I actually get promotions with lyft.
25% for commission. Why so much? It's not like your leasing a car from them. It should be more like 2.5%
Erik C agree but these fucking companies r ripp offs
In my Western Massachusetts experience (3 weeks as a driver for Lyft) as a Lyft driver the amount of money I earn is very little. Some days I drive about 100 miles and earn about $50.00 or $60.00...then buy gasoline with that. Lyft often takes about 40% of the total fare.
bro now they take 60% commission
Erik C It’s more like 40% they take. 25% is the bait they use to get drivers. You do a $10 ride, they keep $4+of the $10. They always try to scam you out of rides you’ve given, by having them not show up in app.
Rich Hunter Exactly right.....they lie to get people to signup to drive for them, then take almost half for every fair. They have the same business model as the trucking industry. They want 90% turnover, that way they keep ill informed people that are unwise to their crooked business practices.
Uber like a crazy taxi
Lyft is like a friend
I don't use either one and have no desire (have NEVER had any kind of desire) to use one.
Can you do nike vs adidas or adidas vs nike
Clash and stuff yes!!!
Clash and stuff that would be dope
wtf are u talking about adidas is beating nike right now in sales and stocks are up
Goku Supersaiyan Bro. What you talking about? white bitches at my school be buying those basic white with black stripe adidas.
Nobody wears Jordan's... Nike or Adidas only. Adidas is more popular though if I count in the clothing as well. I feel like Jordan's are only worn in America the most...A lot of people don't even know Jordan's exist in north EU and Russia.
I only have used lyft and it's been great 👍
i just got an uber ad and i watched it... love me
I work for lyft only and I Love it! I get free stuff all the time
I used to do uber, I was averaging $3 an hour take home. Now I'm doing lyft, im averaging $6 to $9 an hour. Minimum wage is $12 an hour now, both companies are paying less than minimum wage, but at least lyft pays little bit more than uber.
Rich And Famous do both
3 bucks an hour??
I worked Hollywood made about $19 an hour before gas. Horrible job!
I think you are missing something, because most of the lyft and Uber drivers average almost 20 dollars and hour. U must not be in rite areas.
tejash patel Sure keep telling yourself that I worked in LA always getting fares. Not worth it as it was a side job.
Do you get tips? Are they good? What should I lo go with uber or left? Need extra cash. I have a 2016 Vw gti
Need a ride ??? Lyft is your better choice... “Ask anyone “
Just download the app ⛅️
In Los Angeles CA Lift pays better and better passengers Lift drivers says . I dont know but if UBER KEEP MESSING AND CONTROLING MY TRIP REQUEST THEN IM GOING TO LYFT .
0:06 "How did i ever LIKE without it" lol
I've used Lyft. Their drivers are nice and competent however I can't get over the feeling that they're being used as corporate pawns due to their not doing the math.
If and when the minimum wage for a job reaches or goes over $12./hr. both Uber and Lyft may have problems finding drivers.
