I watch your gallery reviews all the time. Katherine’s work is great. I’m from Birmingham, Al and really so much enjoy your exposure of so many wonderful visual artists. Fourteen years is a long time to be bicycling to so many shows in New York. I hope you keep it up because it keeps me up on such great ideas and work of these very talented artists. Your exposure of so many visual artists gives me ideas for new directions. Thank you, Bob, MFA. Iowa.
Great work, fun and strong energy tapping into a visual narrative that really focus on the visual joy of elementary, very recognizable things in happy patterns - visuel, kinetic, color rhythms -
there is a lot of painterly thought in the paintings, i love how the painter underminds it. As if she is commenting on the pretention in the art world . or maybe not .
It’s garbage people, pure and simple. It might help a little if there were some ideas behind the “symbols” she paints so dreadfully awful, but she admits herself that they are just things to paint. And as far as everyone applauding her straight ahead no pretense demeanor. I’m pretty sure that is her just being her, a terrible painter who doesn’t even have a point of view. I would even take Mark Kostabi over her. At least his idea of having others create work and then putting his name on it is weirdly interesting. I’m not a hater or some internet troll putting people down to feel superior. I’m an artist myself and give other artists license to do whatever they want to express themselves, but on this one I’m calling B.S. Just my O, I could be wrong. But I’m not.
THE NEW HOUSE Doesn’t have to be portentous. Doesn’t have to be grandiose. Doesn’t have to have meaning. The only thing it needs to do is work, and it doesn’t. The images are flat and have no visceral impact. What’s worse is that she seems to go for trendy pop culture references, pandering to today’s hot memes. I’ve said it a million times. I’m not a hater, and I guess I congratulate Ms. Bernhardt on whatever success/attention she’s received. And look, it’s not over. Her work IMO could evolve and grow and change into something that has weight. But I’m sticking to my story, her work for lack of a better word, sucks. What can I say?
i like the way she talks without pretense . she loves to work .wish i had her energy .

I bet she could do a great Bart Simpson impersonation.
She is a trip...😃
She's not the most intellectual artist who ever lived, but I really like the work.
Absolutely! unfortunately art became so intellectual. It absolutely shouldn't!@@Joshua-yr2zm
Paint repetitive cartoons of objects with fluorescent colors and spray paint on big canvases. Wow. The race to the bottom continues.
get yourself a brush and a canvas and stop blaming ;-)
