Looks like no more rolling coal, that fuel supply fix should give you better fuel mileage too. The amount of drive miles before this plethora of problems is a real testament to your trucks build. Keep on trucking FSC, great work!!!
Nice job on the repairs. I appreciate that you go thru all of the work to make the videos and then spend so much time editing and finding little cartoon clips to throw in at the right time and adding music of all types. Always a highlight when I find you have posted a new video to watch.
Isn't it a hoot when you get your wagon to run and drive better than before. So much satisfaction. It's good that you have all the subscribers helping diagnose a problem. Orwell is humming again and he sounds really smooth. I was zoned out there during that ride for a bit. I've had my Orwell fix for the evening now and that will hold me for a couple of days. Excellent ride along buddy. Cheers.
Don’t know when this video was posted but I saw Orwell today in north Little Rock Arkansas at the petro truck stop wanted to say hi and meet you but looked like you was sleeping maybe next time my friend keep up the awesome videos and keep that Pete rolling
It was sure nice to see you relax while driving today. After the first few minutes the viewer could see the load lift off your shoulders as you just enjoyed driving Orwell without, " Yah Mule Yah."
Orwell's sounding great brother dang good job. it's always better to fix it yourself because saves alot of money and you know the work that's being done
Steve im gonna be honest i could listen to that jake brake all dang day man i love tjat sound always have.....and i dont even drive truck. Just sometimes about it is just so soothing
I like it on the boat haul you were piloting for the Tim’s dad said roosters is too much of a build Orwell sounds totally different not in a bad way but in a solid sounding way that a guy Orwell keep on bunting some cal enjoyed the ride Steve good job with the pressure switch also
Kudos for bringing Chris on as your FT mechanic. That's an important first step in going beyond talk on your goals going forward....now for a 2nd truck..
I just pre-ordered the work shirt from your store. I love the design. Great video. I'm so happy to know that Orwell is up and running. I'm also happy that you and Jen are doing well and that your new guy at the shop is working out well for you, too.
Having run a fleet of Cat 3406B's here in the UK the one spare part that is a must to carry is the fuel cut off solenoid on the pump. They were always failing.
So why am I listening to a video of someone driving a semi? Oh yeah because it sounds cool. Glad you got Orwell running right again. Stay safe out there. God bless.
That thing got a/c? Know it’s got the air ride, man I want to get me one and fix it up myself and upgrade a little, one thing is a/c and air ride if need be. Love cabovers, kind of a dream truck for me…and there will be none of that frame stretching crap either…it makes trucks look goofy.
Glad to see it was the diaphragm and nothing else. I carry an extra, after having to change mine out. I would leave Orwell stock if your working it, modifying them always leads to more issues and less longevity.
Still hear my Daddy complaining about his back, driving a cabover. Thank God for conventional air ride! Dad drove cabover, right up until a "trainee" got him killed.
So..all you have to do now to make it "really" legal is to fix ALL your dash gauges so that they not only operate correctly but ACTUALLY light up when driving at NIGHT. I'm really happy to see the cab (junk) over is fixed, at least for this week.
Doesn’t seem as much coal as before,as long as you can feel the same power leave it and if under load it feels lacking you can give it a bit more, but until then you may benefit from slightly higher fuel efficiency.
Sounds good and then the Jake Brake is back. I would run it as is with out trying to get more power. This is a mechanical engine, you could get more power but your a one man trucking company. And you’re going good 👍
Hi your Swedish subscriber Johan congrats put Orwell and Snowflake back together and thanks for let os see and hear your so well detailed vids you take broken stuff apart and put back together. Think you get other 379 with Detroit in it 😉😉 say hi to your Miss Johan
My buddy is working on an electronic afc controller for the 3406b. He has a working prototype in his 359 pete. Basically the diaphragm is replaced with a stepper motor. My buddy has 4 goals for the electronic afc controller and the first one is to reduce fuel consumption. The second goal is to reduce or eliminate black smoke from the exhaust. The third goal is on the fly adjustment and the final goal is to increase engine life. He is running a dps turbonator vgt turbo on his truck and he integrated a turbo speed sensor to aid in afc control.
@@fsctrucking The afc calculations are based on boost pressure, throttle position, engine rpm, intake air temperature, egt and turbine shaft speed. The Dps turbonator vgt turbo is a game changer alone and combined with the electronic afc it's a different engine. When you are due for a turbo you should definitely consider replacing it with a dps turbonator vgt turbo.
@ChrisHarding-lk3jj Almost sounds like a "bridge" combination that adds enough electronic enhancement without going full electronic. Sounds like a well thought out combination. Is there going to be a camshaft swap to something more optimized? Given that the tech is really old, a modern grind could increase power and efficiency quite a bit. Also, at rebuild time, look into the Speed Of Air pistons......they do work.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia An owner-operator is a self-employed truck driver who owns and operates their own commercial trucking rig. Most successful owner-operators have a great deal of mechanical knowledge of their equipment and can repair and rebuild their own equipment. Steve Feszchak, of FSC Trucking, based out of Freedom WI, is a classic example of such an operator. May 7, 2024
There isn’t very many feelings out there better than fixing something yourself and it works like it’s supposed to afterwards
Looks like no more rolling coal, that fuel supply fix should give you better fuel mileage too. The amount of drive miles before this plethora of problems is a real testament to your trucks build. Keep on trucking FSC, great work!!!
Good to see Orwell up and running👌
Glad your back up and running, be safe and have a good one
I love cabovers . Wish they would make a comeback!
Sounds like Orwell has his mojo back. Good show, Steve!
Orwell is sounding great Steve! Love what you did for the kids with "Snowwhite". Matt's wife surely will love it. Great gift for them .😊
Nice job on the repairs. I appreciate that you go thru all of the work to make the videos and then spend so much time editing and finding little cartoon clips to throw in at the right time and adding music of all types. Always a highlight when I find you have posted a new video to watch.

that ending track sums it up...that badass feeling after a successful road test, nothing like it!!
Don’t know when this video was posted but I saw Orwell today in north Little Rock Arkansas at the petro truck stop wanted to say hi and meet you but looked like you was sleeping maybe next time my friend keep up the awesome videos and keep that Pete rolling
Glad you got your truck fixed
It was sure nice to see you relax while driving today. After the first few minutes the viewer could see the load lift off your shoulders as you just enjoyed driving Orwell without, " Yah Mule Yah."
Steve you did a really good job of fixing your truck. Truck runs like new again or as I would say like a weasel.👍
Congrats on getting Owell 3406B Cat fix and back ready to start taking-on more loads.. great job.
Orwell's sounding great brother dang good job. it's always better to fix it yourself because saves alot of money and you know the work that's being done
Cool Orwell back in the game, Steve keep those wheels turning, then progress will just happen my friend, from the uk.
Steve im gonna be honest i could listen to that jake brake all dang day man i love tjat sound always have.....and i dont even drive truck. Just sometimes about it is just so soothing
Nice little video Steve, glad you got Orwell pulling good again. Cheers! 🍻
She's Fixed‼️ Time to Get Back At it❗
I like it on the boat haul you were piloting for the Tim’s dad said roosters is too much of a build

Take care of the one that takes care of you . Sounds good brother
Your truck sounds great 👍
I am glad you Orwell fixed he sounds good
Kudos for bringing Chris on as your FT mechanic. That's an important first step in going beyond talk on your goals going forward....now for a 2nd truck..
Great to see Orwell and you back on the road trucking keep it up great videos Steve
Glad Orwell’s firing on all cylinders again!
Cruising smooth nice (it's the little things that count)
I just pre-ordered the work shirt from your store. I love the design. Great video. I'm so happy to know that Orwell is up and running. I'm also happy that you and Jen are doing well and that your new guy at the shop is working out well for you, too.
Yes, things are going well. It's awesome to see so much work done while I'm away.
Great video Steve Orwell sounds great. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Steve.
Glad to hear Orwell sounding better. 😊
Having run a fleet of Cat 3406B's here in the UK the one spare part that is a must to carry is the fuel cut off solenoid on the pump. They were always failing.
Awesome Orwell is in good health.
Whoo hoo!!! I bet Orwell feels like a new truck again.
So why am I listening to a video of someone driving a semi? Oh yeah because it sounds cool. Glad you got Orwell running right again. Stay safe out there. God bless.
Pretty country. Nice ride. She's running smooth now. Life is good.
Chuggin right along...sounds as good as ever.
Hey Steve Orwell sounds great u can put a bigger turbo on it and it won't hurt it
Glad your trucks happy again steve sounds good keep on truckin!!
Good to see things running well .....
Right on brother Jakes fixed ol Orwell's rolling a lil more coal then normal brother lol joking glad everything's good and working right.
Friend of the family has been running a 3406b cat making 35psi boost for 9 years and it's running great
Glad Orwell is up and going love watching your videos keep up the great work
Glad to see it was the diaphragm and nothing else. I carry an extra, after having to change mine out. I would leave Orwell stock if your working it, modifying them always leads to more issues and less longevity.
Orwell rolling coal again. !! ❤😊
Love that cat raddle
Oh you can definitely tell there is a difference in how it sounds and how it drives.
Still hear my Daddy complaining about his back, driving a cabover. Thank God for conventional air ride!
Dad drove cabover, right up until a "trainee" got him killed.
WHAT❗ What The Hell ⁉️ Did the trainee get into an accident while you're Dad was in the truck ?
Welp, Steve's cabover is air ride.
So..all you have to do now to make it "really" legal is to fix ALL your dash gauges so that they not only operate correctly but ACTUALLY light up when driving at NIGHT. I'm really happy to see the cab (junk) over is fixed, at least for this week.
Glad u got the old man fixed ❤
Hey I am glad Orwell is fix she sounds really good 👍 😊
He back that good
Orwell is dialed! 💪🏻💪🏻
Back to work, watch all the working vids Steve, have to keep moving.
Sounds good so far. Need to hear it under a heavy load for a real test. 🔊
Doesn’t seem as much coal as before,as long as you can feel the same power leave it and if under load it feels lacking you can give it a bit more, but until then you may benefit from slightly higher fuel efficiency.
Steve you could have used your dually for weight to test Orwell.
You could always have Tim build you a new engine for Orwell, and do a video on that swap. Would Orwell handle an engine like Rooster?
Sounds good and then the Jake Brake is back. I would run it as is with out trying to get more power. This is a mechanical engine, you could get more power but your a one man trucking company. And you’re going good 👍
I would have drove around the shop and see how it handled also pulling a heavy trailer. Hopefully u have no issue's at all Jesse.
Good job. Sure like your videos. Stay safe out there.
That old Petercar tracks pretty damn straight
Good job steve
I could have swore I seen this truck pulled over on RT 219 the other day just after McNally Bridge.
Sounds good! 👍
Hi your Swedish subscriber Johan congrats put Orwell and Snowflake back together and thanks for let os see and hear your so well detailed vids you take broken stuff apart and put back together.
Think you get other 379 with Detroit in it 😉😉 say hi to your Miss
Johan
Job well done.
No more "roll that coal" footage. Bummer! Orwell does sound great.
Yeah, kinda sad. But all and all runs great. That's more important.
Sweet hit the road now
Would love to see Orwell get a polish paint is good

Good afternoon brother yall getting the storms we had yesterday
Rolling coal again. It's a thing of beauty.
I picked up a second 3406b for 1k now I have a replacement engine for mine.

What does he base the control on? Boost? Or something else?

North of ya in this town poop tankers fly thro and Jake. They don't care.
Cab over sounds amazing.
An extra 100 horses will improve the drivability. You'd be very happy .

Good deal FSC👍

Works
Sexy cabover + one of the best engines ever made??? So awesome brother
Hopefully Chris can help you make something productive out of that Ford Tractor, or come up with a better plan B.
Too bad it's already in pieces, maybe it could have been swapped for the Mack from a few videos before.
Better late than never sorry Steve hopefully Orwell OK
10:18 Hey, I am wearing that shirt right now!
My father’s business partner son is a senior CAT engineer. I will gladly contact him if needed.
I wonder what that little golden sticker is on the bottom right of the windshield?
Did Jpaydirt ever get a hold of you to talk you into getting a Switchblade turbo, like some of his vintage Cats run?
Hauling a load of Sailboat fuel, I see!
Hey can't make no money sitting at lake Forest LoL was sitting next to you
Yeah Bruce Wilson just got a Peter Bob 362 cab over what's the same motor
