The album cover is a sort of shattered glass image, but to the right you can see a dark figure in a straightjacket hanging upside down from a crane, It's Harry Houdini from one of his famous tricks. The lead singer was into Houdini when he was younger. "The Hanged Man" is basically the symbol of the album, it's the heaviest of their albums.
This is their 1st album , so production and mixing aren't that great , they hadn't signed to a major label yet. It's somehow still my fav . Oh and on the same album is the very 1st mcr song Gerard ever wrote ' Skylines and Turnstiles' abt 9/11
My favorite album too.. So raw. Met Frank once cuz my friend was in a band with him prior to my chem called pency prep and saw them at the loop a few times. I definitely underappreciated what was going on at the time.
And I recommend skylines and turnstiles. It’s their first song Gerard wrote helping him cope with 9/11, since he was there when it happened in NY. It’s why MCR formed too.
What's amazing about Gerard's voice is emotions in it, you should try and listen to "Desert Song", his voice there is nothing I've ever heard before, full of raw powerful emotions. Also one of their best songs musically is "Thank You For the Venom", I think you might like it, from their second album which is very well produced and full of interesting ideas. If you're looking for powerful lyrics, "All the Angels" is a good choice, but it's just raw studio version (which make it sound ever better imo), hasn't been published on any official album though
Yesss.. I never grew to like the change in their style after this album. I thought the original style was super unique. To me it was like a cop out to become more of a pop rock band like green day. I stopped listening at black parade.
Hello! Imma new sub :) I love mcr , so much. I have a few recommendations of songs : •Vampires will never hurt you •DESTROYA •Mama •Hang 'em High (my personal fave) •Cemetery drive •The Light behind your Eyes •The world is ugly I could name so many more... They are the ones that mean so much to me so i thought u might like them :)

They’re not great there amazing
Usually debut albums are them in peak form of their own creativity
@@carcher4525 Yeah, but it's still limiting when you're underbudget.
@@supsnap omg who??
He was a comic artist before the band started. He's doing that again now. Of course the band is making a comeback too.
