The old silos at Portland are awesome.
😂😂😂 the girls wanted out. That goat track was full of potholes, but they are things memories are made of
Oh, my biggest worry are those damn potholes. Can't get enough of Silo Art
You take care Chris hope to see you on the road soon....
hahaha! he's giving away all the secrets, another good one is when you're stopped in first gear, kicking the stand down. What a great day - I've already heard all about it! :)
@@TheDailyCommuteAU it was the best day !! want to camp by that river !!!
@@thecreativecruiser where you guys rode into Tarana. After a few bevvies at that pub and a feed. And talking to the publican you spoke too. We camped up in the pine forest. It was super nice. But I’d be keen to get out there
@@TheDailyCommuteAU i’ll join you .. fish river looks amazing !!!
Good ride.
Had the privilege of having lunch at the Hampton pub back in 2019. Was on a 4 day bicycle ride (Zoo2zoo) from Taronga zoo, Sydney to Taronga Western Plains zoo, Dubbo. It looks like you approached it from the same direction that we did. That dirt road past Lake Lyle is peaceful. We came into Lithgow from an unusual direction that you might find interesting, although a bit challenging. When you get to the lights at Mt Victoria; hang a right and head out on the Causeway. When you see the white town sign that says Bell, slow down and take the left that is only perhaps 200ms past it. Can’t quite remember exactly how far, but it’s a road that is very easily missed if you are not looking for it. It’s Hartley Vale road, becoming Browns Gap road. The road surface is rough and there is a turn that pivots around a massive boulder, that has you passing slightly under a bit of an overhanging cliff. Although care needs to be taken navigating the first one and a half kilometres, it’s a beautiful location and now fully sealed. At the other end end on Brown Gap road, there is a significant climb, about parallel when River Let hill is on the highway, which has a similar decent on the other side at a place called Doctors Gap. Near the bottom, there are some impressive looking sculptures (I think one is Marvin the Martian. You come out at the back of Lithgow.
As mentioned, you need to be fully alert on the initial decent, due to the road surface being very rough and a couple of spectacular blind corners, but you’ll be rewarded with a unique way to ride into Lithgow.
wow so sorry for delay i’m just finding these comments .. thanks so much i’ll look into that way next time
Another great video, as I mentioned previously, found you a couple of days ago and now seems I’m working backwards 😂. Beautiful scenery, thanks for sharing

@@jg5930 yeh i saw that when i watched it back but didn’t notice on the edits!! i’ll have to grab it to make a short ! good spot !
Hi Chris, you can tell the people paying attention by the number of comments on being buzzed by the maggie at Tarana. 😀
yes thought the same.... good i can keep their attention.. I tend to skip thru stuff
Great vlog.
Love any ride out of Sydney. I can’t wait to have a ride. Been too long.
lol, the girls got out , i feel proud of you being the woman you are
I'm heading down from North Qld in the next couple of weeks on the Royal Enfield . The Soul Side Cafe is on the list of stops , cheers .
Some rough roads out there - bad enough for cars very dangerous for motorcycles. You survived!
Good to see you back on the road, will you be bringing one of your bikes over to Europe? They stopped using the Moto spelling in 1942 when they made bikes the the US army. Listen to your Mum leave bike standard 👌
hahahah.. mums know... Calamity will be shipped to europe will chat about that soon .. thanks
O'Connell pub is a great stop for lunch.
Ridden past the Hampton hotel many times. I will stop for lunch next time i go past.

@@rockySCR oh bugger i’ll do that ride again for sure !!
It's a nice ride up that way. Glad you didn't have lunch at Tarana, been there several times hoping the meals would improve. But No ...... The ride out is shocking. It's been pot holed for years
11:48 maggie almost got ya haaa
That road looks deadly.
Portland during Beatlefest in late September is epic and is part of the Lithgow 7 valleys festival. BTW those silos in Portland and also in Kandos were for storing Portland Cement that helped build the Harbour bridge and the Opera house and most of all suburban Sydney.
@@richardverren8121 yes i did a story on Kandos .. another great place
@@richardverren8121 i think j might pop out for the beatle festival this year !!
Saturday night at Workies for the Beatels concert is one of the few places to book ahead for a table or seat. Also maybe you can rock up and get an invite to one of the swinging tables through Lithgow council and meet the fabulous Lady Lord Mayor.
@@richardverren8121 thanks i’ll check it out .. i know the ceo of the club . will investigate
Did you say hooked up with a mates ex? Yeah that's shit.
Cool video, love those roads.
yep... unbelievable! .. they split 2 weeks before us.. reckon is was all part of the plan!
I wonder how many of your viewers noticed you being dive bombed by the Magpie 11.50mins in and isn't it amazing you bumping into Tim!
If you remember a couple of weeks ago I asked if you would like to attend the Ulysses Memorial ride at Cordeaux Dam but you had your grand kids that day, well Tim is the club president of the Eastern Creek branch. What a coincidence!
WOW YES I SAW THE MAPGPIE,..when i looiked back at video.. i didnt see it when editing... one other perosn has noticed.. small world.!!
