I had no idea that motion capture for video games existed back then. But seeing this, especially Ocelots actor twirl those guns, this is fucking impressive.
Of course it was used. Making smooth animation like that manually would take years and would require extreme precision and even then it still wouldn't look realistic. Only way is motion capture. I was also used in virtua fighter, simple but it was there
I’d like to believe Death Stranding is being made with the same passion. The same goes for some first party Sony exclusives and of course the indie devs which are doing it as I’d imagine they are passionate
There are still plenty of games with a lot of passion. It just feels like there are less, because making games became so easy and easily accessible, resulting in more quantity than quality.
I remember seeing some of the early beta MGS3 footage around the same time as the first trailer for Silent Hill 3 was released. I had a business applications class and would always sneak and look at the newest game trailers since my seat and computer was all the way in the back corner of the class lol. But memories of seeing this, and the first Silent Hill 3 trailer around the same time(Heather going crazy with the SUBMACHINE GUN!!!!) Konami was godtier to me back then!!!! All 3 games I was waiting for to be released were from them. Silent Hill 3, MGS3, and Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner. Miss those days
Really one of the most elaborated in the MGS saga, the CQC, improved stealth mecanics, the healing & food system. All in the name of realism and this was made for the PS2!! Impressive how a console like that outlasted almost 2 generations of modern hardware by itself

@@RandalfElVikingo i'll remember him also as Policenauts and P.T Silent Hills director (which tons of horror games took inspiration from), and Death Stranding director
Lol you were not even born when Policenauts was out. Also, P.T. was mostly Del Toro's ideas and you can't prove me that "lots of horror games" took inspiration from it. RE7 for example was produced years before P.T. He is not bad, but he is overhyped. Dan Houser, for example is a better writer than him: gives a lot of lore without forcing the player in redundant dialoge.
@@RandalfElVikingo Your argument about my age doesn't make sense, since the game is now playable with the translation patch. I wasn't talking specifically about RE7, i was talking about the recent popular horror games such as Allison Road and Visage. Some people say "Kojima is God" because they know about the MGS:PW joke, but yes some people are overhyping him
Still remembered the old days where i would always use Stealth Camouflage my father unlocked in a playthrough coz i was too scared to be killed and always would not waste a bullet..
Lots of reason for mgs3 to be the best in the series... Big boss, Boss, Eva love story, ocelot, cool bosses fight... Tight gameplay... So many to list down
Still got this and will keep it, I remember it well. I can’t believe it has been 16years, so much has changed for video games now and all the new stuff just does not do it for me now. They are remaking loads of my generations games which says a lot in my opinion. I was always a bit gutted why that four man formation was never in the main game(?) 😅
What would make Snake's alligator headpiece disguise funnier would be to add a weird frog croaking sound that goes off on occasion as he sneaks through the areas
I still don't know to this day why the tech demo looked so vastly different to the final game. I mean it looked so good with the fog and the dense forest and all..
The console hardware back then most likely held it back... One of the MGS2 trailer showed graphically intense scenes that never made it either, such as a large amount of water flooding into the Tanker with Snake running away down the hallway
@@twanlenaerts1512 you serious? That seem not to make much sense. Regardless, it was kinda disappointing, that the PS3 game did provide less features than the PS2 game..
i first played MGS3D on the 3DS, and it was the first time i played anything that blurred the lines of reality and gameplay so well. when i played the demo for the first time, the only gun i had was the mk22, and getting across the bridge in dolinovodno was a nightmare because it made you use motion controls while you were on the bridge. that said, it made for a really funny moment when the enemy was on alert, and i was hanging off the side of that bridge and all i could really do was eat a calorie mate. :P
Seeing the absolute Legend Kojima work in his natural habitat is really something. Just look at that smile, and how much fun this dude's having. Konami really screwed themselves by double crossing him.

kojima ❤️❤️❤️

GTA 4 used it too. It's far from new.
The Best Metal Gear.
yes mg3 the best
nope the best is still MGS 1!!!
MGS 2 > MGS 3

Agreed I will take MGS3 over any today's games 😎
