Caution guys, I took a Pawn that stand with me for more than 4 days, the most usefull pawn ever, never regreat an order or complained about anything. Once in almost a week I gave a command to Come and once, I repeat, once he complained talking he know hat to do and dont need me giving orders all the time. I thought strange and decided to keep him on my alert and this event dont came to repeat and days passed. And from nothing he got the plague and kill the city. So my advise, if an pawn desobey just once, dismiss him!!
I was farming dragons... slept at an inn, dragon's plague hit and wiped out the town. I was like DAMN!!!! okay, I'll sit on this bench for the 14 days to respawn the dragon, then fast travel and get my eternal wakestone to revive everyone... sat on the bench... and during the 14 days everyone naturally revived. What a disappointment. No consequences at all.
I've sat for weeks but none of my vendors are coming back. Kinda pissed bc it was in Bakbattahl and that's a really convenient place for the dwarven merchant. I may just rush a shitty ending and be ultra cautious in ng+
They don't always get a red eye though. Often they are just being self indulgent and negative. Also i haven't noticed any shopkeepers being replaced if they die, or in the case of the dude in Battahl who (spoiler alert) turned his wife and daughter into sand, he won't come back. And he was the only apothecary there.
At first I was worried about the plague. Then I realized if the dragon gazes them just kill them and revive. I’ve killed about 5 now. Each drake has grabbed up someone and I’ve killed them after then revived and they were fine.
The dragon plague is more common, especially after a second run. Most pawns will be infected, and I found how to prevent catastrophic disasters. Be cautious... Avoid hiring pawns that conceal their identities... watch for any markings, some players don't care. I know how to protect my friend....I know to avoid it but I can't save other pawns. I think only their main leader can save and cure them. Because I have tried but ended up coming back right back...
I quite like the mechanic. But I feel it could've been more interesting if the world state was altered visually and allowed us to face-off against our pawn, now turned dragon, to restore the world state.
Saw a video about resurrecting quest giver NPCs, they will be in coffins on the side(names will show), res all or just the ones you need. Also if you hire lvl 2 pawns you get a res fragment each , over and over.
None of this matters. I got hit by Dragon's plague 2 timed in 1 hour. I had no signs. Eyes weren't red or pulsating, the did what was told, no head grading
Nice info. I knew you can cure your main pawn by doing the river toss lol. But wasn't sure if it worked for the hired pawns, good to know to just get new ones. Also on the subject of resurrecting npcs if anyone is having a problem with the Sorcerer quest to get the master skill where the girl is not attacking check the morgue in Vernworth for the grandmother just resurrect her and you'll be able to complete the quest and get the master skill.
I had dragons plague TWICE. The npcs respawn. Both elven and desert cities respawned after like 3-4 in game days . Only probelm I had was a few crucial quest npcs…. Not respawning back in game
I saw the dragonsplauge tutorial popup about 20 hours in, I immediately quit the game and reloaded, and it didn't show up again until about 50 hrs in, at another riftstone, again I quit out, and loaded back in. I'm approaching 80 hrs of gameplay, and haven't seen it again. I can't be sure, but I have a hunch that dragonsplauge only exists in your game, until you both see the popup, and click past it, saving the game, and baking it into your save.
Thanks for confirming, I always do an inn save after dismissing my pawns and before hiring any new ones from the rift. I got the pop up as well so I just quit out the game without saving and reloaded my inn save 😊
@@thexulaz No progress loss at all. I quit out all the time for other reasons. I'm on my second play through now, a pawn falls off a cliff, quit out, something else crazy happens, quit out, the game auto saves so often you can really abuse that system. I've never had to replay more than one minute or so of gameplay, and it's usually much less than that, seconds.
Personally, it's somewhat easy to tell, and it's also a fairly quite a bit of time before the dragonsplague goes off. First off, use the command wait, then try to check if they have any of the symptoms. 1) red eyes is the easiest, but it can take sometime before it shows consistently, and some pawns may have helmets or headpieces that cover it up. So I don't usually go off of this option (again, it is the easiest though). FYI, you can't tell in the rift, they must be outside the rift from what I gathered. 2) not listening to your commands. Remember, straightforward personality is quite different from directly disobeying orders. Straightforward personalities will always listen to commands. 3) any physical gestures that involves their head. I find this the easiest to spot (for me), but the pawns will do some sort of gesture that indicates a headache. This is for me, the easiest to tell if they have dragonsplague.
straightforward pawns are the most difficult to tell... as their personality is already quite similar to dragonsplague... while they wont disobey your orders normally they usually do give sarcastic remarks towards your orders... which is what the other pawns do during dragonsplague (at least in the earlier stages they will still follow your orders but be sarcastic about it) making them very similar to straightforward... however in the later states they will outright refuse your orders or question why they are following your orders in the first place. essentially they start acting like moody teenagers... saying things like "i know what im doing" or "i dont need you to tell me what to do arisen" stuff like that..
The biggest thing about Dragonsplague is that the game only warns you once, as a tutorial freebie. After that, it's the PLAYER's responsibility to pay attention on their Pawns.
Got a glitch with the dragonplague. In my game right now saw my pawn was infected, got rid of the other pawns and tossed my in the sea, but even after that my pawn still has the plague.
After my plague, hit I used the eternal wakestone asap due to fear! Well, my placement wasn't the best because some essential NPCs didn't get revived including Wilhemina and Sven! I was confused as to why my Masquerade quest didn't finish although following all the walkthroughs. I only found out after wandering into the morgue that Wilhelmina was important to the quest. Also saw Sven there so popped a wakestone for him too. Hopefully I didn't miss anyone else important.
Well the plaque struck Vernworth for me. I immediately used the big wakestone at city center resurrecting 190 souls. Unfortunately the radius is not as big as expected leaving some main quest related npcs dead. Took me a while to figure out why my quests did not proceed. Wilhelmina, the prince, a female guard (Sonja?) and the guy with the regalia sword stayed dead. Without Google there was no way to figure out who to ressurrect.
So, idk if it's me but, it goes away over time, as long as you don't rest in an inn, it seems to just leave the pawn and go into another, then gone. I tested it again, and yeah, just camp, until it's gone.
Sure, i mean youre right, its easily avoidable. Not a big deal, but its existience in the game is pointless; its just there to piss people off, and make the game more complicated, and frustrating. Its like tea bagging players for not having paranoia and checking up on their pawns 24/7 I just hope they patch it out cause its completely unnecissary. Like...i wanna fight, kill, sleep in an inn, not constantly kill and switch out my pawns everytime i sleep in an inn...dumb as hell
Yeah it is annoying, but I think the reason is, because it forces you, to switch pawns, so other players pawns are gaining experience and also rift crystals. It's kinda like forced community service ^^ when it happened the first time, I was realy shocked but luckily there are solutions. I just wished it was a bit cooler like you actually having to fight your pawn as a dragon together with the remaining other pawns in your party. Then, the fight will be inside the town so there would still be the danger of npcs dying.
@@xuchilbara21392 me personally i like keeping useful pawns sometimes even if I end up ten levels ahead theyre still good so i reward people on purpose
I have mixed feelings about the Dragon Plague feature. I do dislike it for the same reasons that everyone else does, in which it just creates an unnecessary obstacle and frustrating experience for players who aren't prepared for it from progressing the story. I also completely agree with Xuchilbara that the DP feature would've been a far more cool mechanic that people would actually look forward to rather than avoid if it allowed us to fight our transformed pawn and gave us more solutions to reverse the damages the mechanic causes (like an additional quest given to us by the pathfinder to revive whatever city we rested in) rather than solely rely on the eternal wakestones, which we go out on our own accord to obtain. It would've gave us a more positive experience with the game's newly added mechanic and add more impact in the boss fight against our DP infected pawns. So much potential with this game but everything just falls short.
I've heard that they only stay in the morgue for a few days before rotting. If you don't get quest NPCs back up fast enough doesn't that make it impossible to finish the game?
Did they break it? My pawns have it - red eyes, disrespect, head hurts, spitting. Rested at inn 300k worth of money and nothing. I need it to strike :P
