- My second round of Formula Drift this season - and I feel insanely comfortable in these machines. The team has been making nonstop improvements with the car and I'm beyond excited to drive one of my favorite tracks at FD NJ!

I thought you were going to win that battle the first round based off the mistake he made on the bank. I don't know how the judges missed that at first, maybe they couldn't see it from there view. Great driving!
I know right, smoke line completely disappears for a second where that’s not a decel zone, I have no clue how they missed it, I think FD judges are fucked personally.
27:58, Field locks up the front tire again. Much too late on that one to matter but you can tell he's doing that a lot.
I think the judging was mostly good this round, but missing this was huge and embarrassing IMO. Even Deanda halfway noticed it live when he noted Field throwing way more angle all of a sudden. Yet somehow it was entirely missed in the judging? Also weird that the stewards thought the recognition of that mistake would have made it a OMT and not an LZ win. Lead v lead LZ took it by a long shot, and chase v chase they were pretty comparable ignoring the mistake.
@@anthonyantoine9232 that’s the problem, it’s never more than “mostly good” and missing this obvious mistake and not giving LZ the win, which like you said should’ve been the correct call, is what makes it trash. They really need to adopt the DMEC point system and judging apparatuses they use.

That shouldn't have been a OMT, it was supposed to be a win. Great lead run and the chase was great too apart from the drop which wouldn't have happened if Field didn't mess up. No idea how that was a OMT.

@@huck69 It's stewards that decide outcome of a protest, but still accurate. With the recognition of the mistake by Field in the lead, it is an easy and clear call that LZ wins. He had a much better lead run and the chases were fairly similar outside of that missed call.

im glad you got a re run against field and that just means more seat time and I love that the drivers and the teams are really coming together with you not that they have not before but they are really showing it this year. You have showed them you are around to stay and you are taking it seriously and that earns tonnes of respect.

Actually looked at home in that car for once (aside from irwindale last year). Glad to see some progression. Hopefully the next two rounds for you go just as well if not better. Would hate to see this be the last year with RTR tho it seems like it might be.

@@trackntrail2869 I think the RTR partnership is about Adam being able to pull viewers to the sport and the brand on top of being a great driver. Don't think he will be going anywhere unless he runs out of time to drive. Still I bet he would have some sort of collab with RTR.
@@joshpittman2939 already taking half the season of to do his own (way more fun) events, and under performing compared to the rest of RTR including the boss who took a year off, came back and won in the same exact car. I could be wrong but i think he’s only made one top 16? He said FD takes up too much time to do his own thing, and that’s where his channel thrives and he has more fun.

It was a amazing weekend for me it was my birthday on Sunday and awesome seeing u at formula drift and being at my first ever drift event so dope seeing the cars in person

It's crazy the completely overlook fields slight straightened on the first round. Lz probably thought he was going to eat the wall so he backed off a little and the moment that lz knew he wouldn't go into the wall he made it tight. Next time brother. Keep up the great work and hell yeah brother!

I really admire how much faith and respect Team RTR has in Adam. I’ve been a long time viewer and love Formula Drift season but, time and time again it goes to show that Adam just doesn’t seem fully committed. I understand he’s doing it for fun which is completely understandable. For all that he does he’s amazing at the sport. One thing I noticed that Adam needs to excel at if he wants to be a contender in this sport is his ability to get close the wall. That run at 23:45 was beautiful. If he performed like this every time we’d definitely be seeing some podiums. All love Adam! LZMFG🦅 🇺🇸

It's a bit puzzling how the judges initially missed it, maybe their view was obstructed. Nonetheless, your driving was absolutely incredible! You were 100% robbed and ill explain why, they put field at fault for your correction meaning that big deduction was now on field.. Nothing you did on lead or chase matched that mistake, to put it simply when the mistake is on you field gets the win, when the mistake is on field its an OMT. I don't care if you're an LZ or a field fan, you can't look at this situation honestly and say something isn't fishy
I agree, I’m not a huge fan of LZ when it comes to drifting, I don’t hate him either, I’m just neutral
But anyway even after this when Field was battling Tuerck, Tuerck had an obvious win and they gave it OMT, and on the 2nd battle with them, Tuerck again had obvious better runs and they OMT again. Finally third battle they gave it to Ryan over field lol
Just seems like Field gets the most OMT out of all the drivers. And when other battles look like OMTs the judges make a decision without elaborating (usually in favor of a popular driver)
@@bigbrown2690 yup, if the LZ battle was any indication that there's a bias, the multiple Tuerk/Field battles solidified it. The problem is that judges feel like they can do whatever they want, there's no repercussions for a bad call.
If FD can obtain a gambling license, they can and SHOULD be holding their judges accountable. At the end of the day there is a rulebook, you can only stretch the "interpretation" BS so far before it becomes obvious that its just a game of bias
@@transient442 the judges don't make the call on a protest, that is all up to the stewards, and like it or not, the rules clearly state ""he Driver Stewards may overturn the call, ask for the battle to be re-run or make any decision he/she feels is an appropriate remedy for the situation." -2023 judging regulations v1.0 section 10.3.
while i personally do not think this is the way it should be handled, this is the way its done, in clear writing.
as for the Tuerk/Field battles, yes that was complete BS.
@@originalkhawk hm felt like i've seen judges swap winners before.. Maybe thats a new rule i don't know. Either way the rule makes no sense. A driver should not have to re run a battle due to a judging error. That's not fair.
