George is and always will be the greatest Beatle. Talented, humble, witty, good looking, humanitarian, peaceful, spiritual, good looking, patient, kind, and if course good looking!
This was one of the first Beatles songs that I really remember well. I did know "yellow submarine" and "Octupusses guarden" before that but "while my guitar gently weeps" was one of two Beatles songs we sang in Music class in 8th grade. Ever since then I wanted to learn more about them and 2020 was the Year. So thank you Mr. Wanke for forceing some great Culture into our dumb Teenage Brains. You were the best Music Teacher ever.
I was hardly 18 when this album has been released and I played it to death out loud. This really sounds still great atfer half a century... Great music will never die.
The Beatles were magic. The best band..EVER. Four young men who became a band and changed music forever. That in itself is lightning in a bottle. Noone will ever come close to their music and catalog. Music is my oxygen so I love great many artists and bands. I was very into the Rolling Stones as a teen. I graduated HS in 1975, so I was there for the massive amount of great bands. But..The Beatles were light years ahead of their time. 💙🎼🎵🎶🎵
Everything is a lot clearer, especially the bass is more easily distinguishable with this mix. Guitar and vocals are as good as ever. Drums are a tad quiet. Lead guitar should be louder in my opinion.
My dad was 21 when this album came out and when he went to WoodStock in 69. Pop dropped too much acid and remembered little from the concert but named me Jude when I was born in 76. True Beatles fan he was!
The greatest band, ever, and I miss george so much, loved his solo stuff, love ❤️ and peace, to you all, let's just all get on, that's what the beatles mean, x
this album is so hard to rank songs with (that pretty much goes for any Beatles album) so sadly... kinda. In my opinion of course. Truffle is my favourite but I know that WMGGW is the best. Again in my opinion
This mix has a wonderful clarity and has brought George's voice out excellently, but I'm rather disappointed that the drums are panned to the right and not centred. Clapton's lead should have been centred during the solos as well, I feel. Still, a definite improvement over the previous stereo mixes.
Agreed. Sounds like they were going for a more blended sound. The original mix always had a "separated" sound between all the tracks, especially without ringos high hat driving the rhythm forward. This mix sounds more "gelled" together. really hope the center the drums on dear prudence and helter skelter. ringo is at his peak on the white album and they need to let that shine thru!
@@SG-xx3ir I'm pretty sure the drums on the Helter Skelter remix are panned to the right as well, although as you said, it all seems to blend together somehow, and only becomes noticeable during instrumental breaks. I just hope there aren't any instances of complete silence in a channel, like the start of Martha My Dear; the right channel is silent for 20 seconds or so!

fun fact for all the jjba fans in this comment section: the localized version of ghiaccio’s stand is called “white ice” which is derived from the original “white album”, referencing the beatles’ self titled album released in 1968. it makes sense that they would change it, until you realize that the beatles did not copyright “white album” and it was a fanmade title. on a slight side note, it gets a bit hypocritical when you realize that ghiaccio uses an externally sourced name to name his stand when he was also complaining about externally sourced names (v*nice) p.s. i am not here because of jjba, ive always loved this song and ghiaccio’s stand namesake is the reason why hes my fave lol

No more weeping George. RIP sir, thanks for the music.
George is and always will be the greatest Beatle. Talented, humble, witty, good looking, humanitarian, peaceful, spiritual, good looking, patient, kind, and if course good looking!

The interplay between Ringo and the bassist has never been replicated.

Great that George wrote possibly the best Beatles song - RIP George x
I was hardly 18 when this album has been released and I played it to death out loud. This really sounds still great atfer half a century... Great music will never die.
I was 15, and it still blows my mind away 50 years later. Either I didn´t grow up, or the music is timeless. I think the latter....

Love George's wailing towards the end - pure magic!
Everything is a lot clearer, especially the bass is more easily distinguishable with this mix. Guitar and vocals are as good as ever. Drums are a tad quiet. Lead guitar should be louder in my opinion.
lead guitar and drums should be louder
There is also piano and organ but they are low in the mix
Too even...
Should have been more Of Ringo, since he got blisters on his fingaas.
Yes.
Yes, finally the white album version. God bless George Harrison for this absolute masterpiece
My dad was 21 when this album came out and when he went to WoodStock in 69. Pop dropped too much acid and remembered little from the concert but named me Jude when I was born in 76. True Beatles fan he was!
you’ll be (or already are) 48 rn!
that’s such a cool thing, cus I was born in 2006, so we share the last digit :D I’m gonna be 18 in 12 days :>
The greatest band, ever, and I miss george so much, loved his solo stuff, love ❤️ and peace, to you all, let's just all get on, that's what the beatles mean, x
Una de las canciones más hermosas de The Beatles. Hipnotiza desde los primeros acordes. Una letra poderosa. No envejece ni un poco, es atemporal.

Best on the album
this album is so hard to rank songs with (that pretty much goes for any Beatles album) so sadly... kinda. In my opinion of course. Truffle is my favourite but I know that WMGGW is the best. Again in my opinion

@@amoru1012 What????
@@amoru1012 Sarcasm isn't obvious. Some people do love Avant Gard.
Kmg24 - I agree. I was really hoping that the guitar solo would be centered.
I swear that when Ringo plays the toms, those fills moves to the center. It's subtle, but it isn't like that on the original stereo.
@@jerryejohnson1 You're right. Very subtle, but the toms creep through into the left channel as well.
Best song on the album. Always blows my mind that the “revolution” single was not in the final cut of the album because it’s right up there with the greatest Beatles song ever made
I love The Beatles & George Harrison always.Thank you.

While my Guitar Gently Weeps Lyrics
I look at you all, see the love there that's sleeping While my guitar gently weeps I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping Still, my guitar gently weeps
I don't know why nobody told you How to unfold your love I don't know how someone controlled you They bought and sold you
I look at the world and I notice it's turning While my guitar gently weeps With every mistake, we must surely be learning Still, my guitar gently weeps, yeah
I don't know how you were diverted You were perverted, too I don't know how you were inverted No one alerted you
I look at you all, see the love there that's sleeping Why my guitar gently weeps (I look) look at you all Still, my guitar gently weeps
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Oh, ooh

same, it’s such a good album man
The end of the song is amazing.
this lp is a definite addition to my cd collection that Sir Giles Martin and Sam Okell helped to bring new musical life to the Beatles catalog.
Father George Martin would certainly be proud to hear this version of their music if he were still among us today. RIP!
"There is nothing that can move in the cryogenic world. I can freeze anything in the universe!" - Ghiaccio
what makes the song for me is that organ part everyone talking bout all the other instruments when I first heard that part that’s what really made me like this song

George saw the writing on the wall and wrote this great lament to the days when they were the care free fab-4.

One of the best guitar riffs in history…
Wow the vocals, bass and guitar sound better than ever. The drums should have been in the center of the mix. Great re release of an iconic Beatles album. I might pick it up later.
Clapton solo here is just mind blowing. I'd say one of my favourite guitar solo of all time.
Legend says his guitar is still gently weeping... RIP George Harrison
Piano riff on this rocks as hard as the guitars. And it doesn't stay the same staccato notes, it molds and forms as it goes on. Just amazing.
I remember listening to this song a lot the year my father passed away. I would get chills because i could hear every detail coming from my recently purchased speakers. But that was nothing compared to this. That hammond in the chorus made me tear up. Bringing back so many memories of when he was still alive...
The Beatles and their greatness brought me here
fun fact for all the jjba fans in this comment section:
the localized version of ghiaccio’s stand is called “white ice” which is derived from the original “white album”, referencing the beatles’ self titled album released in 1968. it makes sense that they would change it, until you realize that the beatles did not copyright “white album” and it was a fanmade title. on a slight side note, it gets a bit hypocritical when you realize that ghiaccio uses an externally sourced name to name his stand when he was also complaining about externally sourced names (v*nice)
p.s. i am not here because of jjba, ive always loved this song and ghiaccio’s stand namesake is the reason why hes my fave lol

Doing nothing but aging
Still my guitar gently weeps
