- First Supercharger equipped with Magic Dock in Calgary, Alberta. It's operational since November 16 2023. He has the ability to charge non-Tesla electric vehicles. Tesla will be opening up more of its Superchargers to other EVs, but it's unknown how many and exactly where they will be.
Note the power is still limited to below 50kW, which is partially due to the voltage differential (400V output vs. EGMP platform's 800V architecture). The 42kW delivered is still very low. They $0.80 per minutes for non-tesla which is very expensive.

I tried one of the newer Magic Dock stations a couple of times and only got 42 kW. On the third try several weeks later our Ioniq 5 got 97 kW. They seem to go through a phased ramp up for 800 V batteries.
Oh really? was it a V3 Or V2 supercharger?
@@stevietheioniq Version 3. I also got 97 kW at another Magic Dock station in Moab Utah. They just seem to be initially derated for at least some 800V EVs.
@@COSolar6419 Oh that some good news. I hope it will go north America wide. Thanks for the tips.
the 42 kw charge is a huge bummer. Hoping this gets figured out soon!
Apparently, it's sofware problem. Hopefully they will fix it.
You get max 100 amps at 420 volts = 42kw, which is what Tesla limits you to. It’s the same in Europe where I live. I cannot tell you why this happens but it’s really annoying. Hyundai / Kia say it’s Teslas problem to correct in their software.
Thank you for the break down. I don't think a lot a people know this. We all got exicted when Tesla open their Supercharger to everyone.
I’m sorry. I can’t understand you with subtitles
