Bulgarian liturgical music is entirely BYZANTINE in origin and is of great antiquity. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the ‘Ottoman Empire’. If anything, The influence runs the other way - i.e. the music of the Byzantine world heavily influenced Islam and ‘Turkish classical music’. The Byzantine liturgical heritage is also shared by all the other Eastern Orthodox churches.
