Motivational Monday Week 15 It’s Gonna Get Better by Stars Go Dim Happy Monday! I’m just going to say it. Last week was hard. The days are beginning to blur together and it just didn’t seem like Easter. I always worked on Easter Sunday and enjoyed seeing my customers. After work I would have a nice dinner with the family or visit a customer’s house if I missed the family meal. This year I wasn’t invited to dinner where I live. My Easter Sunday meal consisted of a bowl of tasteless chicken noodle soup and potato chips instead. I am grateful for all the family members, friends and customers I texted with throughout the day. I am grateful for the time I was able to spend talking with Alyssa here at the house while she worked on crafts and did her homework. I am also grateful for the pep talk from my niece Shawna. I realize it is okay for me to get down from time to time, but I can’t allow myself to linger for long. If I do, I sink lower and take a chance of becoming depressed. I need to change my perspective; physically and mentally. I can change my scenery by taking a walk. I can take a chair or a blanket outside and read in the driveway. (I am halfway thru my reading challenge for the entire year!). I can write letters to my older customers who have a hard time hearing me on the phone. I can begin one of my crafts instead of thinking about it. I can clean another section of my room. I can continue focusing on all the positives and things I am truly grateful for. None of my family are sick. I have a roof over my head. I have food to eat, books to read, stationery to write on, crafts to do and plenty of people to speak with. And most importantly, on this Easter, I am grateful for Jesus. That He was born, lived, died and rose again for us. Knowing He has this all in His hands makes me realize that even though it seems huge and out of control to me, it really isn’t. We Are All In This Together, Rosie Hendrix
