I'd like a waterproof, super thin, natural to natural matte finish, lightweight, fast drying spf for warm humid weather. Something less shiny and more lightweight than Biore Skin Aqua watery essence. I'm lucky if I get 4 or 5 months of mild, cool weather. The rest of the year is HOT. What I've been doing is applying Rephr Light Hydration cream and slapping on top the Elf Invisible spf 35. The elf is a pore smoothing primer, so its OTT to apply as much of it as I do; The only way I can apply makeup on top is with a sponge, and very minimal makeup at that. I also tried The One by allies of skin which is similar but less mattifying than the elf, but using the right amount makes my makeup slip and slide; I'd have to skip moisturizer, wich isn't ideal with these silicone like spf products :S
Yes, both are better options for normal or oily skin. I would probably skip moisturizer and depending on your skin you may need to powder but they’re both good options
I love your in-depth discussions of Korean sunscreens! Just curious: Have you tried the Skin1004 Centella Sunscreen? I’ve seen that one recommended for summer/oily skin, too. If you have, how do you think it compares to the Haru Haru?
That's why I no more buy Asian sunscreens. Yes they are good, they feel good, they are lightweight and all but they are ALWAYS way too shiny for me and during the day when it's hot and humid no need to tell you it gets worse. I just hate how they look on me since I am a natural to half matte finished lover, not a dewy/glowy one. But I am also a zinc oxide lover because that ingredient do miracles to my skin. Sad they don't make zinc oxide spf because in their mineral spfs, they always add boosters so they can lower the % of zinc oxide to avoid that white cast and that thick consistency.
What waterproof sunscreen with Zinc is your favorite? I used to enjoy Elta MD UV elements tinted but they had the audacity of changing the formula, and now I hate it. It never spread well, but now its hard to spread AND dewy.
@@tedoymisojos I use the Attitude sensitive zinc oxide spf 30. I don't think it's waterproof because it's not mentionned on the packaging. I know this one is not loved by the public because it's very thick and leave a white cast (20% zinc oxide) but the way I apply it seems to work. It dries down very quickly so it's not blendable after 2 second so I start patting with my fingertips and it gets the job done. Not greasy and it doesn't make me look oily, just natural. I also apply it by section, not by splashing it on my face like I do with my moisturizer lol But I am a fair, not white skin but fair skin so the white cast is very minimal.
I love that both sunscreens have SPF 50+ with PA++++ protection. Can't wait to try them!
I have oily skin, so it's good to know that the Haruharu sunscreen might work as a moisturizer too.
I had no idea the Mixsoon sunscreen had Centella Asiatica! That's a game-changer for my sensitive skin.
Hi Dana, I tried both, and HaruHaru still wins for me. This is my number one to date, after trying 30+ Korean sunscreens.
The split-face comparison was super helpful. You can really see how the textures differ!
Glad it was helpful!
I've been using the Haruharu sunscreen for a while now, but I might give Mixsoon a try after watching this !
I really have been loving it! Feels lighter in my skin in the summer
I would love to see a video on the best body sunscreens for each skin type pls
I’m not the best person for that video as I have 1 that I use
@@DanaRipperton it's okay my bad
@@ha-junchiasa4891 no worries!
I'm always on the lookout for the best sunscreens. Thanks for the detailed comparison, Dana!"
Any time!
This is a great comparison video.

I skip moisturizer pretty much all summer and have no problems at all. Give it a try!
Very helpful review thanks❤
I think a few of the newer chemical filters do leave a white cast. Probably not as bad as mineral ones.
Yeah Tinosorb M does that. I just don’t have time for a chemical spf with any white cast
I left this info in the comments but it disappeared.
P. Calm is another kbeauty sunscreen that's actually matte
Is it suitable for oily skin i mean mixoon

Thank you! I did a whole review on the Skin 1004 and don’t recommend it if you want a more matte look
