  • Hello world! As many of you know, it is Thanksgiving time here in the United States (at least at the time this video was made).
This video is a little different than our usual how to make or play Native American Flute videos we typically put out. I decided to make this video to share a different perspective on this American Tradition which seems to have so many people at odds with one another these days. I hope this video finds you well and if you have any thoughts on the subject, please put them in the comments below!

Thanks for sharing my grandfather on moms side was Charlie and also Cherokee Nation. He and his mom shared with and taught me our culture. Been 20 years since he passed and 55 yrs since grandmother passed. They are missed but i am grateful for the knowledge and culture they shared with us and im proud to be Cherokee

Thank you for sharing your truths with us Charlie. I have seen several other videos you have made where you have shared about your life. I find them enjoyable, informative and educational. i may not always agree what others believe, but I try my best to keep an open mind. Blessings to you and your family. 💞

Thank you my friend! You as well! If we don't keep speaking our truths, they will begin believing that they're not important to us! Then after they take them away, we too will no longer believe they are important to us.

You mentioned your Great Grandmother grew her own tobacco. I recently learned that the modern tobacco in most commercial products differs greatly from what existed naturally. Also, supermarket turkeys can’t fly or procreate without artificial insemination because we wanted them to be bigger for the one day a year people buy them. Luckily, some wild turkeys are still out and about, living free and flying.

Speaking of people communicating more…. I am part of the LGB community and I spent many of my days feeling loved and safe with my friends in our local club. I live in the Springs and that local club just happens to be “Club Q”… and because communication these days seems to be breaking down and people keep picking teams; some maniac thought it was ok to shoot my friends and kill them. And taint our town. And act out of hate towards people he didn’t understand or want to converse with. So if I take anything from what’s going on these days and your video… we should all speak more with one another and spread love. Learn and grow with each other. Respect each others different cultures and ways of life. And most importantly… hug our family and friends on thanksgiving, rather than try and dismantle the holiday. Take any holiday as a chance to spread love and hang out with people who are important to you. Because life can end suddenly and without warning… happy thanksgiving, be kind to one another, and play some good music everyday. Preferably NAF 😉 life is too short for the bull$hit.

Not to stoke the flames here, but I just want to point out that Aldrich (the shooter) identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns… he wasn’t someone acting out of hate for a group of people he didn’t understand. He is part of the LGBTQ community. Just throwing that out there.

It’s horrific what happened, and yes we need to have more love and hug your loved ones! Show them you care!

@@cooperhaycock4654 I’m following the story very closely. As I said this has personally affected me, my community, and my home. People love to throw loose facts and ideas around. In all honesty, we don’t know much about the man at all. People say things and assume things. It is going to take months to get the details figured out. If ever. Most likely he is mentally unstable and is saying nonsense. Or some journalist said that and it spread. We really don’t know what the shooter is. Or why he did what he did. I’m not going to make assumption. I like cold hard facts and It will be a long time until we have those. Until then I do my best to support my city and my loved ones and hopefully we figure out why this keeps happening and stop it.
