Given how wise, motherly, and... bubbly Byakuren is, it's easy to forget that she's a tragic character.

Tragic? Can you enlighten me? I'm barely a month in and she's my best character atm so I'm curious about the lore
After her younger brother died, Hijiri feared death and sought to become a youkai to prolong her life. She found enlightenment in becoming one, and continued the teachings of Buddha at her family monastery. She had youkai and (a few) humans as disciples, but many people didn't like that.
Because of this, she was betrayed by humans and sentenced to Makai (a sort of hellish Limbo, which literally means a realm of demons). She was imprisoned there for a thousand years.
Her seal was broken, and she was freed from Makai. A resurrection, if you will. Hence why the fandom calls her 'Youkai Jesus'.

If only I had enough seal crystals plus I am trying to strategically use my god crystals but she is still beautiful and her song sounds beautiful and amazing. Edit: I almost forgot to mention that she looks really beautiful and attractive to me in my opinion I mean she is one of my favorite touhou project characters for a reason.🥰😍👍🏻😊😇😌☺️😊

Q: What is the most off-putting thing about this Byakuren?
1. That ridiculous one-piece swimsuit with two strategically-cut holes in the side to make it seem a lot skimpier than it actually is, which is completely pointless to begin with given that she has a freaking full-length dress over it, and that huge, deadly weapon arm and lovely flower in her hair ruin any sexy vibe anyway.
2. That all-over-the-place dress which is simultaneously too revealing and _way_ too long and flowy for the beach, which doesn’t even work at the former thing because she has an entire one-piece swimsuit under it and doesn’t accomplish anything with the latter given that she has a huge, deadly weapon arm, _and_ a lovely flower which does the job much better.
3. That utter monstrosity of a weapon arm which clashes with everything else, especially the sleek swimsuit, elegant dress, and beautiful flower.
4. That sad little flower desperately trying to say “Beauty and grace!” despite getting completely drowned out by the swimsuit (“Trying too hard and pretending it matters!”), dress (“Designed by Seija and a vindictive Taoist, both drunk!”), and weapon arm (“Sanity? What’s that?”).
A: Sorry, trick question! The most off-putting thing about this Byakuren is that she’s pals with Joon. JOON. Seriously, _the hell??_
I have 1200+ crystals, and I'm saving them for Relic Yuyuko and Relic Meiling later this month. Sorry, yokai jesus.

While I think her theme is cool, isn't it a bit too serious sounding for a C3 unit? I mean... C3s are usually relaxed or funny sounding.
