A nice casual ride round the Gap route starting at Talybont in the Brecon Beacons. Met up with 4 guys from the Neath area on their eee'Bs at the first gap so I tagged along with them up until Fan y Big where I turned right and up and they carried on through and down the second gap.
Watched this a few times - Keep up the good work - inspirational in getting people out and about . I have ridden all my local rides in Pontypool Blaenavon and surrounding areas so wanted to try something different. Bit the bullet - took a couple of days off work this week and up Talybont on usk I went. Great facilities there fair play. Did Brinore tram road up to gap one and the fantastic views along the way. And the Roman road across to Pencilli Reservoir. Made a few mistakes , hit Pencilli at its bottom end rather than the dam road across so in effect I crossed it twice with the dam road being the second crossing. I was using a route off Komoot and I normally use Garmin built in on an Edge or Strava so a bit of a earning curve. Hit Gap 2 as it started to snow for just 5 minutes and took the rocky descent down between Penyfan and Fanybig. Got to say a couple of places didn’t dare to look down .... 21 mile tracks and and a 5 mile road/lanes section where I must have gone wrong somehow. Rode a Specialized SL and had 50% (with a battery extender so 150 to start) at the end.
epic video! Going here next week!
Looks like a cracking day out, proper janky on those rocks. Hate hike a bike.
AWESOME ! Totally Lush. A Nice modified loop of the Gap, thanks again for the shout out. HORSE !!!
Didn't see any horses but I did see a flock of Hearses! 😂
Can't beat a bit of Fan Y Big... Good to see you getting a couple of bike lifts in ready for next month. 👍
Oh yeah, definitely 💪😂
Wow that looked like a better route than the norm . Can I get the gpx too 🙏 🙏🙏🙏
Great video pal, do you possibly have the route? Thanks
Nice video! That bike is pretty quiet I hardly hear the motor.
Oh yes you can. On the DH sections there is the Gen 4 rattle'
the descents look brilliant.. looked like a couple of twitchy arse bits up on the tops , very very close to the edge with a big drop (awesome) .. a defo hike a bike in places for a normal bike rather than a 2 wheel mob scooter.. great idea with the mudhugger combo rear guard .. did it keep your rear dry and free of mud ???
Yep, worked a treat 👍 Wales is a great place to ride, love it 🏴 👌
@@OldNorthern_eMTBer never ridden there , yet.. wales and scotland both on the list of places to visit with the bike.. :-)
Lovely stuff. I dont suppose you have a gpx (or a map link) of this route? Heading up this weekend and trying to figure out the best way to ride it. Thx
Send me your email addy through Insta 'andy_muss64' and I'll send it over 👍
Awsome bike, I have one the same colour ;).
What mudguard is that at the back? Is it on that you've fabricated using several Proguards? Cheers
Doh! I literally stopped and asked that question at 0:20 into the video, then you explain what it is at 1:22. I'll get my coat :-D
