Yes, 《ACE COMBAT 7》was flawful, unbalanced, and sometimes (quite often) makes you mad, but it's successful and we loved it.

The only takeaway i have from these interviews is that """High Level best of the best players""" are complaining that this game is not a live service game.

Are we just gonna forget the core identity of this series? A narratively driven campaign featuring accurately potrayed real world aircraft?
The complaints about cheaters and lack of anti-cheat are the only valid complaints here tbh.
Shock horror players with thousands of hours say that MP is repetitive 😂
Multiplayer in infinity was way less repetitive in my opinion, they had new plane releases and game modes like every month, a ranking board for the events that would reset, multiplayer doesn’t have to be as repetitive as 7’s was
I'd love to see some more statistics on these highly ranked players. I think they may not necessarily be the lifelong enjoyers of the AC series we think they are. They are competitive gamers who started playing this game and applied their dedication and high skills to it after playing ACI, and as such they will be very opinionated regarding the game mechanics and its balance re multiplayer. However I do agree with them that the game severely lacks a PVE mode that would allow more people to enjoy multiplayer. Right now, the competitive community is very toxic and makes participating in PVP an infuriating experience.

And also, only one of them is a “professional gamer”, but that happened way after they largely left ace combat
As someone who reached 100% completion in AC7 on two separate platforms (PS4 and PC), I agree with the replay value leaving much to be desired. This game really needed something like AC Infinity's multiplayer. Namco also needed to have more faith in Project Aces than they did, seeing as the game was almost cancelled twice, and had to be rewritten almost completely from scratch.
Nonetheless, AC7 as a whole was a wonderful return to form for the series, and hopefully, the fact that it is now the best selling game in the series should inspire them to do even better with the next game
Ac 7 is an attractive game when it comes to single player. But no doubt project ac did poor job on whole mp scene. No anti cheat programs, no perma banning cheaters let alone reporting system and list goes on. During over 1000hr of mp gameplay, I met real nice pilots across the globe. I kept playing mp just because I like fair competition and as the time goes by, things went downhill fast. All the good respecting pilots left the game and what left was cheaters and toxic players.(I dunno aces in the vid still plays cuz I don't play mp anymore). Ac7 could've been way better game by adding simple pve system like infinity and thats really make me sad. The first game I played in my life was ac0, kinda grown up with this game and watching this games mp going down like this wasn't pleasant experience at least to me. I really hope project aces do justice in ac8 mp (if there is one). Btw, impressive vid, really brings back the good memory of ac7 mp. 👍

I've been playing Ace Combat 7 since day 1, and while it has lost some of its appeal over the years, I still enjoy it to this day.
Speaking as someone who jumped pretty late into the franchise, and never having the chance to experience Ace Combat Infinity, AC7 was exciting for me as it was my first "new" Ace Combat game since I started playing through the series.
And the thought of finally being able to interact on a competitive level with guys from the community was equally stirring.
In regard to my skill level, I maintain I'm not the best player. While perhaps more competent than most, I'm definitely not on the same level as these guys.
Yet tangling with them was both a real joy and honour, and I have nothing but the highest amount of respect for them and their skill. It does make me sad that a lot of them have moved on, but I will always cherish those great battles and fun times I had with them.
I was never a master at PSM, and while my proficiency has improved somewhat, it's never been to a degree where I could use it effectively.
Which is why I mostly relied on energy fighting to remain competitive. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.
While I didn't mind for the most part the lack of modes in MP, like everyone else I still wish there was more this game could offer to enhance it's replay value, and likewise I am hoping the next Ace Combat (in addition to a long, engaging, and fun campaign mode) will bring back the Infinity multiplayer formula. Heck, maybe even add modes tried in Assault Horizon or the PS2 and PSP games, like a co-op story mode or an air race even.
The presence of cheaters was always a problem too (hell even I got accused directly once which wasn't a pleasant experience, and even my name ended up on a list of known or suspected cheaters for a while). I won't lie it did suck some of the fun out of playing as I felt I couldn't go into a public lobby without knowing who was clean and who wasn't.
Which was why for the longest time I usually stuck to playing in the company of friends, or fellow players whom I trusted (like USEA, Trinity and Nathan).
I would argue however the issue of cheaters has somewhat declined lately, probably in line with the games declining popularity. I mean, who is there to troll if no one's gonna be around?
Either that or I don't see as many because I don't get on as often as I did before. Who knows.
As it stands, I'm likely one of the few veterans (if I can even call myself that) who still hangs around in multiplayer lobbies.
In spite of all its flaws, I still enjoy AC7's multiplayer. I met a lot of talented players and had a great many dogfights over the years, and still do to this day. I enjoy seeing what players can do, and (at the expense of maybe inflating my own ego) it fills me with a huge sense of pride in my own abilities when someone takes notice of my skills and praises me for it. Especially so after a close and hard-fought battle.
So was Ace Combat 7's multiplayer perfect? No.
Could more have been done or added? Without question.
Aren't we glad we got anything at all? I'd say so yeah.
Was it still fun? Absolutely.
Modding Multiplayer gave the game a second life, for a short time
the mods should've never went public imo. As fun as they are, the speculation and paranoia behind cheaters killed all forms of merit. vid should've came out 2 years ago back before the list got debunked.
Even at times what I get raged at certain mp battles I still love Ace Combat and is a game that will hold a special place in my heart till the day that I die and is also game that also changed me as a person
This is the first game I actually save up my money to buy it ,

Interesting vid. As someone who is a complete latecomer to the game, starting a year ago with about 250 hours experience, I do wish I was there when the game was new and everyone else was learning too. I have heard pretty much all of these takes before, but seeing the community leaderboard is wild to me.
Edit: 7:23 is one of the worst takes here. Although planes accelerate and decelerate extremely fast, an energy fighter who is very good at what they do and maximises their plane’s advantages can easily go toe to toe with the best PSM players.

That's not true at all. An experienced PSM player vs an experienced energy fighter would only result on the PSM fighter win, due to the tight cornering and their own control of speed. Only way I can see the energy fighter have a chance, is while running away and B&Z which makes the entire battle trivial.
@@Megalith9 I’ve beaten many experienced PSM players 500+ hours with the Rafale by using blisk2 vce2 bpt1. The Rafale has such a crazy turn rate when highGing from 800kph down to 400 kph that when you add some decent acceleration to escape the PSM player’s turn circle and utilise height to help bring your nose back down you can easily force head ons with HCAA
@@crusty_magog You're right related to the Rafales specs, but you're half right with the kind of players that use PSM against your energy fighting.
Next time, try to pull the same maneuver towards someone who has 1500 hours or so, you'll notice the grand difference in skill compared to those who are only 500+ hours. The skill gap is completely gigantic when you approach those of higher experience.
I wished Ace Combat 7 was closer to Infinity. Why I kinda just didn't stay long in 7 like I did with Infinity.

I stopped playing on pc because of the cheat ppl use and i learned how to counter some of them but in time it can get super annoying now i know how some of yall feel on the pc side of ace combat 7

Hugh level players almost always have the worst opinions
Dam, this is super well edited! Nice job! At least it was more obvious back then. Now it’s a bit harder. For some reason, even with the lack of anti cheat, they are deciding to be very subtle. Though now I know exactly how to spot someone with missile cheats. PSM is still a big thing, but it’s unbalanced. It’s the best maneuver you can do, but all the planes that should have it, don’t. I play the Gripen E, which should have PSM and doesn’t. It’s not that I don’t have access to anything else, I do, I have almost every single aircraft. But since it’s a beginning aircraft, it turns worst than most, even though it shouldn’t, and lacks PSM even though some aircraft at the beginning have it. I’ve tried everything with it, go full airframe upgrades, go full missile upgrades, mix, nothing works. Not sure if high tier missiles also work better. Basically the PSM system is unbalanced because it isn’t complete, and regular balance is not very balanced.

about the psm mechanic i find it disappointing that besides a few outliers an entire class of planes are essentially completely outmatched. Because a person is well versed in a, well lets face it an unbalanced mechanic.
this also coincides with the skill gap, i came from console to pc and the difference is instantly noticeable. short of upgrading certain special weapons to completely avoid the dogfight which i dislike with a passion. These planes that cant psm simply just aren't maneuverable enough to contest them. i just hope PA fixes these issues in AC8 (i just hope i dont have to wait a decade for it)

i think this is the first time i m hoping for live service game of ace combat. at least they have like...battlepass, map progress, new added plane, new MP modes.
