Mine was a 122S but the 140 series was classic.

A rare and beautiful car.
The lastb of the wonderful " boxy but good" Volvos. The B20 engines were bullet proof and visibility was great. It was all downhill with the 200 series with the appalling cow catcher front end and the hideous ladder headrests. Then came front wheel drive and it was.all over.
What an awesome Volvo 142 it looks and sounds like a new car for being a.1974.

I read Colin Powell was a big Volvo fan and collector. I wonder what happens to his collection now that he recently passed. Hope we all get to view them someday.

I would´nt buy crap from that war criminal.
it is the car that made that I went to Volvo, since I owned 1-164, 2-240 and now a S70, I must admit that the s70 is very deceptive in regard to earlier models.
Owned a 19744 144 GL myself, the first Volvo I ever owned.They sure were a much simpler car at that time.

Single carb. Is that an unusual configuration? I though they continued the duals in the 140.
My '74 142 built for the North American market had the dual carbs. I can't speak for the rest of the world.

@@tomaxcar Nej den har stått avställd sedan 1982 varmt & fint & en påbörjad renovering som jag ansåg var helt onödig & som gick ur spår helt & som ägaren inte klarade av en vän köpte den men hade inte tid att renovera.göra den klar så jag fick ta över den & ett för mig ganska lätt jobb då jag har en likadan röd 74a som jag kan ha måtten av då halva fronten var bortkapad mm men jag har jobbat som proffs-bilplåtslgare så för mig är det bara lätt & roligt att göra den klar den är i helt ny-skick i allt som inte är bortkapat & inredningen är som ny från fabriken & den var Dinitrolbehandlad varje år från 74 till 82
