Title: The Problem of Artificial “Social Others”: How Much Sociality Do We Need for Hybrid Intelligence?
For humans, social interaction comes in many different forms, whether it is working together, co-creation, cooperation, or collaboration. Even if the individual actions are functionally similar, what is done together ultimately depends on how it is done in cooperation with others. The philosopher Professor Dr Johanna Seibt, from Aarhus University in Denmark, foresees challenges here for applications in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. Seibt, an expert in the philosophy of robotics, will provide a glimpse into her research in this Zoom Talk.
This talk is part of the lecture series, “Co-Constructing Intelligence,” which focuses on the human-machine interface, and on questions about how humans and machines can learn together and work together to acquire new knowledge and skills. The talk is co-hosted by the CoAI JRC, CITEC, and the Joint Artificial Intelligence Institute (JAII).
