This half-hour screencast by Scott Garman introduces you to the Yocto Project and explains its benefits. It also includes live demos which explain the following:
* An overview of the Poky build system
* How the Poky sources are organized (types of metadata and where to find them)
* How to build your first Linux image and run it under emulation
* An introduction to recipes and an explanation of the most common types of metadata, using actual recipe examples
* An introduction to layers
* Where to obtain Yocto BSPs from
* How simple it is to download and enable a Yocto BSP
* Where to find further project resources (documentation, mailing lists, git repository, bugzilla)
By the end of this screencast, a new user will understand fundamental concepts about the build system, and be able to start their exploration of the Yocto Project with a solid foundation of knowledge. - Наука та технологія
Thank you for the greatest Yocto tutorial I've ever watched!
great, introductory screencast, I understood most of the terms and concepts after watching the video
Great video, helped me a lot to simplify the Yocto structure....Thanks.
Great video, exactly the intro I needed 👍
good video. I recommend it to get started easily with Yocto as a developper.
Great video, very useful to YOCTO new bees. Thanks for the brief Info :)
This is very nice. Thank you very much for this video.
this video is awesome!!
good for starting with yocto... thanks man...:)
Thanks for posting this is one of the best video from yocto. My board with an Allwinner H8 has proprietary cooties. It shipped with binaries. I do have a detailed circuit diagram. Is that enough to write my own BSP?
Concise and clear..!!!
superb !!!!
Awesome..Thank you..
This was a really useful tutorial. I haven't seen many that go beyond a high-level explanation of all of this, which isn't very usefull because it doesn't answer "how", only "what". I don't suppose you know of any other tutorials similar to this one that goes into more depth?
So, this bbclass files, they are similar to Gentoo e-builds, with bash instead of python?
Great Video!
Thanks for posting this. Cani know the Quality attributes that architects thought of when designing Yocto ?
Great Info! I would like to participate in some way, I have experience in this field. Congrats for the video!
Doing my Yocto Project now.
Hi, Could you please give me some hints to understand the relation between angstrom and yocto?
Very nice video
helpful for developing own project
this info is still usable or is out of data?
This is so cool..
What is the language used in the .conf files?
Does anybody know how much of this info is out of date?
Going to try this on an old minnow board...
I found this video on another account, I was like wtf, is this 10 years old? And I was right lol.
So much peesplash! :D good video though.

pfft this is what I hate ..oh revolution this or that ..new idea embedded system..All was done better on, and with the Classic Amiga hardware/OS . The Amiga still cant be beat in any area. This the funny part or rather sad part. Linux was invented on an Amiga in 1988.
