Suddenly, suddenly it happens and the dream comes true Wonderfully, beautifully it happens and your world is new Magically, you're holding the golden prize Mystically, your castles begin to rise Suddenly, dizzily you're spinning with the thrill of life Suddenly, thirstily you're drinking in your fill of light But secretly you just can't believe it's true When wonderfully, beautifully Suddenly it happens to you, Cinderella [Cinderella] Suddenly, suddenly it happens and the dream comes true Wonderfully, beautifully it happens and your world is new Magically, you're holding the golden prize Mystically, your castles begin to rise Suddenly, dizzily you're spinning with the thrill of life Suddenly, thirstily you're drinking in your fill of light But secretly you just can't believe it's true When wonderfully, beautifully Suddenly it happens to you
I fell in love with Gemma Craven then and still am. I've watched the "entrance," - the wedding that Cinderella invades - hundreds of times (when the fairly Godmother heralds her entrance with the glass trumpet). Gemma's beauty and her look in that scene are breath taking. Wish somebody would discover and record "Suddenly it Happens to you."
I agree watching it on London live now the hot summer of 1976 she was just perfect for this film like Julie Andrews was for sound of music, and Natalie woods west side story.
magical song. gives me hope for a brighter FUTURE. i saw this movie when i was 11. 1976 me and family just came back to america from germany. i. love this song. god bless u all.
I adore this film, and saw it many times on its first cinema release in the UK, and this clip is from the beautiful restored widescreen print from the US dvd, wish they release it in england
The year this movie came put I was going through probably the most miserable time of my life. To say I was suicidal was an understatement. I'd recently come off longterm (prescribed) medication and the withdrawal symptoms included a world in total shades of grey. It was beyond awful. Anyway this day I was in Town (wondering whether to take a short cut across the railway line!) and I saw the movie showing at our local cinema. So I thought what the hell and went in. Over the next two weeks I watched EVERY SINGLE SHOW. One evening I came out of the cinema to find that the world was back in colour. This movie probably saved my life.
Wow! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ That's beautiful. I watch this movie at a time when my dad was abusing me and older boys were showing me things I'd never seen. I'm amazed it wasn't tainted. This movie was such a beautiful thing in my life
The music is so beautiful :') It makes you feel all warm and cosy inside! :P You get the same effect with Mary Poppins (which, of course, was by the Sherman Brothers aswell) :) x
Oh, and for those of you looking for the DVD, it IS/was available in the UK. Apart from the Daily Mail copy, I found one in a 3-DVD box set with Legends of the Fall and First Knight from Morrisons. Pretty sure it's the extended version as well, as it has Find a Mate. Good luck!
I live in the States and I can't find this movie, even though it was recently rereleased! I wouldn't want the rerelease anyway though, as I seem to remember that it is edited or something, and the first release was better. Man, I wish I'd bought the first release...
Thanks for putting the film up in the first place, and then the songs...you were a lifesaver when I didn't have my DVD! But you might want to fix the info...I'm sure you didn't mean to write "Sung by Prince Edward and the Duke of Montague"! Anyway, just wanted to say thanks as I love this movie to bits. Annette Crosbie is apparently a distant cousin on my mother's side, but I've never got into any balls as a result...yet :-)
Annette Crosbie is one of Britain's mot underrated actresses. Her portrail of Queen Katherine of Aragon is pure brilliance. ua-cam.com/video/exS8FNJIDhc/v-deo.html
This movie has such charm...I wish all movies had that.
Fun Fact: Gemma Craven, the actress who plays Cinderella, was born the same year of which Disney's 1950 animated version of Cinderella was released.
Ballin' my childhood eyes out. Right bloody now.
I grew up watching this movie over and over again.. I love it and the music just beautiful

It's so true for me!!! I'm rediscovering this song. 27 getting married soon!!
So wonderful to be true in the true life...but at least one can feel it watching it on a film....

I saw this at radio city music hall before the Christmas spectacular with my family.
One of the best Cinderella movies ever.
