The gold standard he supports couldn't work because gold prices are too easy for billionaires to manipulate, but strong money in general isn't inherently a bad idea. What part of the terrible price bubbles in real estate, education and healthcare could be attributed to our Keynesian weak currency? The US economy was a lot better before Nixon ended gold exchange to avoid raising taxes to pay for Vietnam choosing instead to pay for it with debt and inflation famously saying "We are all Keynesians now."
The inflation from weak money and artificially easy credit is a regressive tax. And it is a regressive tax that the government uses for malfeasance like corruption and wars while the financial sector uses credit to parasitize the productive sectors of the economy and create price bubbles.

I understand him to great extend because I am like him and have the similar education and training, but I don't have his money because I chose a different path. Where as over 72% of the US population (based on the latest US Census) have a high school degree or less. in addition, our high school education is ranked 39th in the world. We are actually ranked behind many third world countries. That makes more the majority of our population DUMB AND IDIOTS BY WORLDLY STANDARDS, Not to mention having graduate or Ph.D. in STEM fields. Look at our professors in the engineering and computer fields in our universities. What percent of them Americans? Less that 10%. What percent of our Ph.D. students in engineering and computer science are Americans, less than 10%! DRAW YOUR OWN CONCLUSION! Its because the quality of our high school graduate don't have what it takes to get into our Ph.D. programs.
