I have never rebuilt anything like this but I’m not totally afraid… you’ve made it more than clear. I do have an FJ45 I may actually try this on… I may need to ship it to you if I screw it up…🤫
Lol, you can do it. Make sure you have a good manual or an exploded view printed out. Just lay everything out the best you can. There really aren't that many parts in these old transfer cases
Excellent job showcasing the restoration process. Really good camera work. What paint did you use on some of those parts? I am about to tear into my FJ40 transfer case and really like how yours looked. Thanks again.
Thank you and I'm glad you enjoyed it. I believe it was POR15. We used it on other engine parts as well.
Did you have any in and out play after the rebuild on the rear output shaft?
I didn't hot it with a micrometer but everything felt nice and tight when I put it back together.
How tight do you do that last nut back up to?
Not sure. Its been a while. Tighten it down good. nothing you can hurt, plus there is a cotter pin to keep it from backing off.
what you put together was part of the 4x4 box
?
@@DJsHotRodFab then you can only lower the 4x4 box without having to lower the transmission box without any problem?
@@DJsHotRodFab Would you help me through private chat?by WhatsApp I want to download my 4x4 box at my house and you can guide me little by little, please?
@@CHENCHITO923 sorry man. I'm no expert on these things. I didn't do this video as a tutorial because it's the first one only one I have ever worked on. And it's not my truck so I wouldn't be able to guide you through it. There are lots of resources online. I just take bolts out and put them back where they came from. Sorry I can't be much help.
That was enjoyable, looks great under there. You made it look easy.
Thanks
