Welcome back, Bobby! Hope you are doing well. Come up to KFRG sometime
3:10 if you want to land short, come in with a little power and get really slow.. like 55 knots on short final. You want to touch tail wheel first for the shortest landings. You can then carefully get on the brakes and raise the tail just enough to get the tail up and the weight on the mains. You balance brake application and elevator with the ability to not skid the wheels, and also the ability to control the tail and not let the tail rise too much from brake application.

Also the reason I’m pursuing my PPL. Your videos bring general aviation to me at a personal level. Normally most people don’t have access and cannot realize general aviation is something you can actually do.

Man I love that RV9. My flight instructor had a Harmon Rocket which is very similar. But that Rocket would truly rocket :).

Thanks Bobby, I like this series. I watch the sailing channel but I like the flying series. Have you tried flying gliders? That was what started my flying obsession. Passing a medical again is a distance dream for me. Have you thought about getting your med again? You have found your niche in sailing and the Dark Side. Try explaining how some can learn to fly cheaper.

We have an rv7 at our little airfield, it always takes off like a rocket compared to the other aircraft.
