This channel is really the best at putting you in the shoes of an average person from history. Some channels tell the story of the great battles and great men, but this channel gives you a deeper insight into the average day in the life of a Roman. I really appreciate your work Toldinstone!

That was SO well done. 👏👏 I love how you took us through the daily routines of people from pompeii and really set the picture. It's also very relatable! Even 2000 years later... just shows how similar we are today to how people lived then and its thanks to those people we have what we do now. Thank you Rome for setting the stage for us. ✌️🤣 It's so crazy how easily you can imagine yourself playing out that day in the markets and almost feel the atmosphere. And in some ways the people of this era remind me of the victorians and their ingenuity. Canals and bridges and aqueducts. Awesome 👌

This is exactly the type of narrative history that brings the past into the present. I find myself remembering the details you present more than other channels because you make it possible to relate to people who lived and died in a different culture with different social values than I experience in my life. Pompei is one of the wonders of the world. Nowere on earth has history been preserved so untouched as in Pompei... All the houses, the people, art on walls, grooves in the road, everything how it was 2000 years ago...
Its a very special place. People always build and rebuild, so nothing realy preserves, except there... And the more i travel, the more special it becomes, because i understand how rare it is... if you visit Italy, Pompei ia definetly worth it... Its good on the scale of the world, not just Italy.
