Took me back to those days when I was the cameraman for Star Video from Southall and I personally made over 500 weddings. Those days were really fun and hope the married couple are now enjoying their life with their kids.
Funnily enough, someone else said this recently that crisps and peanuts was the good old days. As someone who hasn't attended an indian wedding regularly since the 2000s - I was shocked this wasn't normal anymore, when they said it. I must be living under a rock.

Everything was great in 90s weddings were great, and other things like cars they didn't need big expensive lambos and ferries and mercs and bmws, they had mercs but few and usally basic family used to have their esscorts they only used hire like 2 cars, now days its all cars are hired like 20 cars and everything is over done with show off of richness, also back then families and kids were much more civilised then now days, everything back then was better then today, even clothing, hair styles, cars, houses, furniture, tech, etc it was great era to be in.
Truth sometimes hurts - and tgis is that one time - it is a fact - it’s a part Punjabi and part t Sikh wedding. No policing - just rectifying the words ...
Traditions were there. Sisters covered their heads with saari when tied sehra. These days wedding girls dont cover their owm heads when they are given shagan or tied gana.
It's a Hindu custom. Nothing relating to Sikhs. Nothing to do with religion, Sikhs have adopted to Hindu rituals and do not follow what Guru Nanak Dev Ji had taught us. Kanwal Pannu, it's a sign of welcoming someone, someone important.
