  • HOLY CRAP! That's NO BEAR! Hunter has a TERRIFYING SASQUATCH encounter!
Every year people all across North American have sighting or encounters with the legendary cryptid known as SASQUATCH otherwise known as BIGFOOT.
Todays story is the perfect example of why when you are out in the woods and you have that gut feeling like something is not right, or its telling you to get to safety, you should always listen!
In 2017 while deer hunting in North Eastern New York State, Richard had several uneasy feelings and unsettling experiences before having a TERRIFYING encounter with a SASQUATCH that he will never forget.
If you have had an encounter that your would like to share, please email me at thedarkwildernes@gmail.com

It sounds like Richard did great. Warning his family and friends and hunting in groups is about all one can do. I do understand the fear the Sasquatch can bring, fortunately I haven't experienced that part of Sasquatch. Great video and I believe Richard. There are thousands of people seeing Sasquatch and the encounters are often similar. Take care.

Richard's encounter was crazy scary. Who knows how one will react in his predicament. Something like his stare down with the bigfoot is life changing. You have a talent for relaying people's experiences in the wild. I am sorry I freaked out about the email that you wanted. I have had many things happen that are unexplainable in the wild, some are what they are, but I try to keep it to myself, as many people that do not believe me, then think I am out there if I bring them up so I keep it to myself mainly. Thank you for all you do.

Thanks Jane! No problem I 100% get it. When I saw something cross that old quad trail years ago hunting when i got back from helping train troops for deployment I didnt mention it to many people outside of my hunting party (all family at the time).Part of me is glad what ever it was crossed quick and at a distance so that I didnt get a super clear look, but part of me kind of wishes I would have gotten a better look just so that i could 100% of what it was.
As for this story, I can 100% relate with Richard and his feeling on bears. 6 years ago i was charged by a sow with 2 cubs while tracking a deer during archery. Luckily my buddy was close (75 yards) with his 12G shotgun and popped a round off to scare her away when she was about 15 yards from me. That was followed up by being bluffed 2 years later by a large boar (male bear) during muzzle loading. There are a few more close bear calls ive had over the years, but those 2 alone gave me a bit of a not dislike, thats the wrong word, but a new kind of respect?? i guess would be a better word. Either way, im always on alert now during archery watching out for them.

Whoa at fifteen minutes before the "end of legal light" it was dead air! Almost like a wait for it moment.
Trust your instincts - whenever you have a foreboding feeling. This encounter nearly ruined Richard's friendship until his buddy seen the sasquatch himself.

Great story! Yeah, it sucks when friends/family give you a hard time for just telling the truth- IMO many peoples knee jerk reactions of ridicule & anger are because they simply do not want to believe you, as the thought of something unknown lurking in the woods scares/threatens them at such a deep level they become emotionally irrational & just don't want to talk about it.
Such a reaction is along the lines of the old saying... see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.
Their primal unspoken belief is- if they don't believe in it, then IT won't be able to "believe in them" either- & so both will remain ignorant of the other.
    lol
    But then again-
Some stories, that are indeed 100% true... can be just SO strange- they hard for ANYONE to believe!
And allot of those people who experience the things so far beyond the periphery of normal human experience that no one can relate to them, will never tell a single soul because they KNOW no one will ever believe them and will just say they are crazy.
Truth is- most people today live in casual denial of any/all paranormal reality, laughing at any suggestion such could possibly ever be real... until- reality of a decidedly paranormal nature comes a knockin that is :) THEN they quickly sing a different tune to anyone that will listen!

You know, I understand being skeptical, but if my best friend of 30 plus years who I know so very well is visibly shaken and terrified, and tells me that they had an encounter out of concern for my own safety, I would take them seriously - even if at first I didn’t fully understand. I think some people are just so reluctant to consider that anything could be true beyond what they learned in school.

Richard did great, both when he was in the tree stand himself, and when he went and got his daughter out of the tree stand. I am very happy for Richard and his buddy's friendship that his buddy also saw the Sasquatch. Glad his wife believed him. Sometimes being overly armed can lead to a disaster so maybe he was lucky to not have his sidearm with him that time. It can lead to a false sense of security. But, to be honest, I need that false sense of security when in Sasquatch type country so I do carry a sidearm, if not a rifle. But, as a retired US Federal Wildland Fire Fighter (29.5 years total, State and Federal time combined) I wasn't afforded that luxury during my 2 encounters. But I came out just fine.
