- I get asked this so many times that I just wen’t and filmed you guys this video 😁 enjoy!
In my online Juggling MasterClass I have more detailed explanation of that grip and technique, if you’re interested:
jugglingmaster...
I’ve been juggling clubs for about a year and a half, always catching in over-grip. I didn’t even realize it was possible to catch in under grip. This will reinvent my style. Thanks for this!
Eli McWalter My pleasure 🙏 glad I can help
I can always remember it because like traditional is under there, and circus is like underwear
zeabeth Yeah thats not helping me at all 😂😂 but sound funny tho
no comments on knob getting hooked and swinging the club into one's face? That's the main reason I began learning with second club on top is for clean release much easier and less bloody lip!
Having now learned both ways it became clear that my hand has to open up away from my body with palm facing away and fingers move clear and point straight out to let the club spin away from my body, with the held club gripped under the thumb. The version with first club on top gets spun by my first fingers and is easier to control rotation speed like a normal throw, but the under grip first throw doesn't get finger spun but has to rotate around the held club and uses only arm motion and snappy release to spin successfully.
Yeah do what works for you 😊
I only learn it your way, or the freeways, you are the best juggler I know in my book.thanks you for teaching the tutorial, I believe everything you say because you are pro at juggling, keep up the good work.👍👍
I’m not saying that everything I teach works for everyone, but it’s a good place to start 😊
Wish i had learnt under grip when i started juggling instead of over grip (european grip xD), because when I think about the two grips , under grip seems to have more advantages over all! Great video as always !
mo collin Thanks! Yeah I like that grip, but its never too late to learn new thing 😉
I have only learned over grip I never even considered that under was a think. I expect that it will be quite hard to re train myself 🤯
I didnt even know there was something like undergrip and overgrip. When i start throwing i hold both clubs parallel at the knob, but that doesnt work when starting with 3 clubs in one hand anymore. I always wondered how people throw and catch the third club in one hand and found this video. I started to learn 4 clubs recently and i always catched the second club with my ring and pinky finger, but from there i have to rearrange to throw again...
I will learn now to catch and throw with undergrip, cause it sounded really great :)
Awesome. Let me know how it goes
I know exactly what you are talking about with the circus grip and classic grip debate.
If you hold the club like that like you did at 2:40 when you break your finger my clubs always land on top I just always done it like that been doing clubs for 2 yrs now
Todd Hadaway Whatever works for you, go for it 💪
@@JugglingMastery thanks man.
Gratidão hermano! always helping and sharing your tips
Pipe Rodriguez Thanks 🙏🙏😊
3:42 this is exactly what i was talking about in your other video "My club juggling Act". That over rotation is such a killer. Looks like you're almost having to throw them flat.
Wow , your juggling clip was 🔥
Thanks
I use undergrip too. That's hard for me to spin clubs with overgrip
I'm going to work on my under grip though before it's too late cuz I do have trouble collecting 3 + 4
Do you make [34]23 with undergrip?
And write me please siteswaps of 5 club muliplex tricks you did in this video.
polyakov ilya I make everything in undergrip 🙏
And sorry but I dont know those siteswaps 😂 haha! You have to ask some siteswap expert
Thanks for this video. I used over grip for years and switched to under a while back. It's definitely more reliable, but also I think the stress on the fingers with over grip can cause wrist issues. My wrist pain went away after I switched to under.
Brian Austin Never thought about that. Thanks for the info. I have to study about the hand position with overgrip
I love the terminology of under and over grip !!! Thanks! I'll use it. When I learned it I did a stupid thing. I used over on my right hand and under on my left hand. The advantage is that I don't have to switch grips when I pass clubs to the other hand, but I had to learn different multiplex techniques. Since some years I'm learning both grips on both hands, but I still prefer it the way I learned it.
Floyd Fischer Thats quite funny 😄 but hey, if it works for you, then it works 💪💪
And yeah, over and under makes so much more sence
how good. This video helped me understand some things!
Circo Try Great 🙏 that is how I do it
@@JugglingMastery I don't understand how you manage to catch so easily below (under grip)
. I feel it is easier to throw as you do ... but I don't feel it is easy to catch. ...
What do you recommend to improve the catch?
Circo Try look at the slow motion video at the end. See how my fingers are and how Im turning my hand little bit, to make space for next club
@@JugglingMastery
It looks more complicated but I will try to achieve it.
can you do the under the leg juggling tutorial
Augustus Green I have 3 tutorials like that in Juggling Mastery, my online juggling MasterClass, but lets see if at some point I can make one here too 👌
Fairly new to the circus (under) grip after hmmmm 3 decades of juggling. I like it, but this video does not make clear to me how you catch the third club cleanly (when catching 3 clubs in one hand obviously).
Yeah I agree.
This video was just to explain what I use and why, not ment for real tutorial
Just call it standard not classic and you'll probably remember
Wouldn’t help 😂 which one is standard than? And why it’s called ”standard”, since we have not standardised grips and holding positions?
Yeah my brain works differently on this subject for some reason... 🤷♂️😂
Over and under I can remember
I always use over grip, but I have the longest fingers that I have met so far in my life, and for me it is quite convenient. especially when i collect clubs from a partner in passing.
Thank you for the video, your position is justified and understandable
Merlin Wachowski Thanks 🙏
Can I change fingers with you? 😂 haha!
In my very humble opinion, the problem of under grip that nobody talks about is that it is more easy to land the second club over. It claps and eventually rebounds but it lands even if the rotation is not complete. To grab under, you need a more precise throw with the handle butt coming low to pass under the first club handle. At the end, Under is better because you have a more controlled rotation, it doesn’t make the clapping sound and it is far more easy to let go In over grip you have to push with your fingers tips to start the rotation.
Pierre Jean Its always good to hear other peoples opinions 🙏 but to me that is not a problem. If you look at the slow motion video at the end, Im turning my hand and moving the other club oit of the way, so that second club has so much space to come in.
So I can easily catch it even if its under rotating
@@JugglingMastery yes I noticed your hand movement and I have to test it by myself. I was not saying it is a problem, as I agree with you it is a better grip, but something you have to work on in search of better juggling. Thx
