Pretty much all the baits are not worth in my opinion, and you should only buy when you have millions of coins to spare.
I wish they would make a super strong bait for 10 million coins and make it increase mutation chance for like 30%

Well click bait can help you do quests that requires common fish(like the crystal mines) or quests where you have to catch any fish and you don’t want to waste high rarities. Low quality bait is better than click bait. Turtle and bear are useless. Saltwater is easily outclassed by click bait cuz what’s the point of it when you can just easily get common fish with that bait? The rest are useful.
What is the different between equippable bait and throwable?
Bear tranquilizer may have any use, SEA BEARS, I mean, think about it, sea bears are kinda bears and bear tranquilizer is for tranquilizing bears, it only makes sense that they devs aren’t telling people about the sea bear too much since it’s a secret.

The common bait may have been more effective if you used a different rod. The heart of the forest increases rarity by 35%. Though that might explain why you were getting so many high rarity instead. Rarity chance pulls odds away from lower rarities proportionately to their odds (common gets effected more than uncommon which gets affected more than rare, and so on), and the common bait adds common rarity chance, diluting the chance pool in it's favor.
The two don't cancel out, but rather affect each other weirdly. In the end though, higher rarity gets nearly untouched while uncommons, rares, and epics take a significant hit.
It might be onteresting to test the bait in the river where only uncommons, legendarys, and mythics can spawn. Since it's adding odds to a pool that doesn't exist it might bwhave strangly.
Might also be interesting to test click bait there as well
day late dollar short. but using clickbait in the river does have an interesting effect. no fish will bite at all but the bait use gets used as if a fish is biting it. there may be a hidden fish kind of like a missingno from pokemon. it will bite but it won't show up and you can't catch it.
so i just wasted my money thinking it would be easier to catch a seabear with the tranq bait
