- Here's a quick tutorial I did for a friend on how to set up an eye in Flash to be animated using Flash's revolutionary Symbol hierarchy. Sorry for so many 'ummms' but I guess that's why you're not paying for this right now! :-)

Aaaw, I like wolfy, he's such a sweetie :-). Good tutorial. I only had problems with the white background in the eye but found a different solution.
To fix this, when you have the bucket tool selected if you look further down the toolbar you'll see a circle. If you click it it will give you options to ignore increasingly more spaces between lines and you can then fill that area in with no problem. Alternatively you could make the line a bit longer instead and it will fill the gap and this
Very useful , thank you.
@CautionChildrens glad to help!
VERY good tutorial. big help man, thanks!
hahah! That's pretty much it. You just gotta worry about the sideways rooms.
Awesome tutorial! Thanks for sharing it! :D
Nice demo Mike!
@ Easy Online German: Glad it helped and sorry the eye white didn't work out... What didn't work for you?
To be honest, I don't remember anymore because I did it 8 months ago :-). But you can watch my little German cartoon here: German Cartoons: Storch trifft Breitmaulfrosch - Learn German easily and with fun
@aztaclalz
Well actually most of the animation done today is still done traditionally in the sense that it's hand animated and not done with Flash. For instance Phineas and Ferb is done that way. So was Chowder, Flapjack, Ben 10 and just about anything else on TV today. I think what you're noticing is the idea itself which speaks to the problem I'm referring to. If executive who can't make films themselves are in charge of green-lighting shows, how long do you think before most shows suck?
A timeline inside a timeline inside a timeline.... timelineception! LOL
@Jerrybrice
Thanks Jerry! I figured I might as well share it!
@gothkyd it is indeed alot of work! Rewarding though when youre sitting there watching it all finished!
Yeah sure, the reason it's doing this is because the line didn't completely bisect the circle leaving a tiny hole between the edge of the circle and the line so if you think of it like water, there's seepage going and the paint goes past your little dam you want to create.
i love you man
Yeah I guess I should have put it on here. Too late now!
@AGhostFromNowhere :-) nowhere yet!I wrote a story for him but just havent had time to animate it yet.
Yes exactly. Because the eye symbol is just duplicated.
Awesome!!!!!! :)
@aztaclalz
Yes I do prefer the original paper and pencil animation but its so ridiculously expensive as well as time consuming and you have to wait for some clueless suit to tell you your idea is worthy when you know it is anyway. I've grown tired of waiting.for the okay and Flash is a great way to empower yourself. In the end I want to tell stories and I can do that wih Flash.
@milowerx
What the networks are doing is trying to pull your eyes from the other channel so they go for the lowest common denominator.
@Avi Hooves sometimes you get lucky but youll find that it will go out of sync eventually
You forgot the Milowerx Logo!
@LH7068 thanks for watching!
@damiensmurf eventually.got any suggestions?
Did the second eye blink on its own once you did the first one or what?
Yes sir I am. You can check out my page to see some newer stuff. I also work at Nickelodeon so I only get so much free time. :-)
Lately, I made a colour film out of my black and white cartoon and finally managed to fix the eye white. But I always export avi-films as the sound in quicktime videos is very bad. It sounds like in a tin can. However, I have problems to render avi-files which are bigger than 4 GB. Then the film is not rendered correctly and not usable. Any idea?
I export out a swf file, import it into After effects and export a .mov file there. then I bring that and an audio file in Premiere and render out a real video. Adobe Flash CC added the Adobe Media encoder which works great too.
Mike Milo Thank you for the instructions but I found a very easy solution now. I rendered a compressed avi document out of Flash in 1280 x 960 px and chose the TechSmith Screen Capture Codec. Works perfectly. Here is my little cartoon: German Cartoons: Storch trifft Breitmaulfrosch - Learn German easily
When I try to use the fill button, it colors in the whole eye, any suggestions?
so, where does woolfy star???
How do you have layers inside layers? :c
Are you still making cartoons?
