  • Enjoy this relaxing walk through The Hamptons At Umstead neighborhood on a bright and sunny spring day. Along the way we met a lizard, named him green bean and found a well manicured grassy knoll to climb up on. The houses are selling for over a million. I wouldn't want to pay the high taxes.

Its 100 degrees outside in the middle of the day with everyone working. The downtown is where everyone is. These are separated private residential areas. Inside they have central air conditioning, game rooms with pool tables..ping pong..and movie theatres in their house. When it cools down they will either swim in the backyard pool or barbecue. But during the main heat they hide inside. It's just our lifestyle here🇺🇸

@barbarian140674 People hang out in their backyards...but when they want to do something outside, they drive there. They may go to the lake, a football game or go shopping or they go into the closest city. I think Americans value tranquility and want excitement to be far from the peace of their neighborhood. It's a different mentality. The mentality is: " I work hard and want quietness at home"

    • @barbarian140674

For those asking where are the people, to me this looks like a typical neighborhood on a weekday when people are at work. If you saw this same neighbhorhood after 3pm you'd see kids outside and after 5pm, you'll see people jogging, walking and walking their dogs. Overall the more upscale a neighborhood is, the quieter it is BUT people do go outside! It's just the time of day this was filmed. And in the summer North Carolina is very hot. So if it's a very hot day, like over 90, you'll see less people outside as well.

Ppl hang out in their backyard after the outside temperature cools down...these are small towns with a downtown that is separated from the residential areas....I agree there should be more parks located in these housing areas but many homeowners don't like it because they become unsightly hangouts🇺🇸

Thank you for your insightful comment. What particularly stands out about this neighborhood is its moniker, 'The Hamptons at Umstead.' A quick Google Maps search reveals its unique positioning adjacent to William B. Umstead State Park - and when I say adjacent, I mean it's literally a stone's throw away.
William B. Umstead State Park, in Raleigh, North Carolina, features three man-made lakes for fishing, including Big Lake, Sycamore Lake, and Reedy Creek Lake, stocked with various fish species. The park offers 30 camping spots, including ADA-accessible, group, primitive, tent, and trailer sites.Additional amenities include picnic areas, hiking and biking trails, and a visitor center, typical of state park.
I regularly go hiking in the park and my friend mountain bikes it pretty much daily.

Once upon a time, in a quaint little neighborhood, there was a man who took great pleasure in walking and filming the places around him. He reveled in the subtleties of life that were often overlooked in the hustle and bustle of the modern world. The comment on one of his walking videos read, “Very nice & peaceful society but where is people …? Hardly anyone is seen here …!”
The sun was just beginning to rise as the man embarked on his daily walk, accompanied by the trills of birds greeting the morning light. The streets were bathed in the warm hues of the golden hour, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers. Shadows danced and intertwined with the sunlight, painting the pavement with a mesmerizing kaleidoscope of shapes and colors.
In this world, things had become so fast-paced that people focused solely on their destinations, never taking the time to appreciate the journey or the beauty that surrounded them. Life was a blur, and in the constant pursuit of success, people had lost touch with the simple pleasures that once brought them joy.
The man strolled through the neighborhood, passing rows of houses with their perfectly manicured lawns and well-tended gardens. The delicate petals of roses glistened with dew, like a thousand tiny diamonds reflecting the morning light. The gentle rustle of leaves whispered stories of growth and change, as the wind playfully tousled their branches.
Despite the serene beauty of the neighborhood, the man noticed that the streets were indeed empty. No children laughed as they played games outside, no elderly couples chatted as they took their morning walks, and no teenagers exchanged gossip on the corners. The streets felt like a ghost town, devoid of the very people who gave it life.
The man continued his walk, capturing the emptiness of the streets on film. He panned his camera slowly, documenting the eerie stillness that had taken hold of the once-vibrant community. The melancholy tune of a distant wind chime echoed through the air, its melody tinged with longing and sorrow.
As the man turned a corner, he stumbled upon a small park tucked away in the heart of the neighborhood. The grass was a lush green carpet, inviting visitors to bask in the warmth of the sun. A nearby fountain burbled, its crystal-clear waters shimmering like liquid silver as they cascaded over the smooth stones.
The man couldn't help but feel a profound sense of sadness. Here was a beautiful world, filled with wonders that had been forgotten by those who were too busy chasing after the fleeting promises of success. He wondered if there was a way to remind people of the joy that could be found in the simplest of moments, in the journey rather than the destination.
As the sun continued to rise, the man decided to take action. He edited the footage from his walk, adding captions that highlighted the beauty and serenity of the empty streets. He hoped that, by sharing his perspective with others, he could inspire them to pause, even for just a moment, and appreciate the world around them.
The video quickly gained popularity, resonating with people from all walks of life. They began to question their own priorities and the values they had been chasing. The man's simple act of walking and filming had set in motion a shift in perspective, rekindling a long-lost appreciation for the beauty of the journey.
Slowly, the once-empty streets began to fill with life once more. Children played, couples walked hand in hand, and friends laughed together as they rediscovered the wonders that had always been there, waiting to be noticed. The neighborhood had become a testament to the power of slowing down and cherishing the present moment, and the man continued to walk, film, and inspire, one step at a time.

aside from some of the other things people pointed out here in the comment section, typically if it's a weekday, husbands/fathers would be at work, kids would be at school, and the wives/mothers would be home or out running earrans, so during the weekday people aren't usually in the house the entire time. We used to live in Texas, same routine, me and my sibling would be at school, dad would be at work, mom doing things in the house or outside running earrans, only during the weekends would we be going down to the community pool or sports fields in the community with other people.

Hey First I'd like to tell you that my mom really loves your content and she's a big fan of it. I might sound crazy but we wonder why there isn't any trace of human. Not even one.

Hey there! It warms my heart to hear that your mom is a big fan of the content. Thank you for sharing that!
Regarding your observation, it's a great point and not crazy at all. The video you're referring to was shot on a Wednesday, April 27th, right in the middle of the day. Most residents were likely at their workplaces, schools, or other daily engagements, giving the streets a quiet and serene appearance.
One of the unique aspects of "Relaxing Walks" is to showcase tranquil and calm paths. We meticulously select routes and times to capture this essence, and in this case, the midday on a weekday provided that perfect serene environment, with minimal human activity.
It's this combination of careful planning and timing that often makes it seem like there's no one around. I'm glad you noticed, and I truly appreciate the engagement. I hope you and your mom continue to find relaxation and joy in the videos!

Where is the people on the street?

    • @RelaxingWalks
      @RelaxingWalks  Рік тому +2

A flicker of amusement passed through old Grandpa Jenkins' eyes, a twinkle so subtle you might think it was a trick of the golden sunlight dappling his weather-beaten face. His eyebrows arched high over the deep craters that held his mirthful gaze, contemplating a question posed by a curious UA-cam commenter: "Where is the people on the street?"
Seated on his favorite rocking chair, one hand gently stroking Bessie's golden fur, the other cradling a glass of ice-cold lemonade, Grandpa Jenkins let out a soft chuckle, a sound so gentle it could've been the breeze through the nearby willows. Bessie, her golden coat gleaming in the midday sun, raised her head, a curious rumble of a question in her eyes.
"There ain't many folks here in Relaxville," Grandpa Jenkins started, his voice a calm ripple in the serenity that was their small porch. He took a thoughtful sip of his lemonade, the ice cubes clinking against the glass like a soft symphony of serenity.
"Y'see, that ol' camera operator filming 'Relaxing Walks', he's got a knack for finding places that are more whisper than bustle." His gaze drifted off to a shirtless skinny old man at the far end of the dirt road, struggling with a stubborn lawnmower, the only immediate ripple in the otherwise still tableau of the day.
Grandpa Jenkins took another sip of lemonade, his gaze faraway. "Could be that he found a wormhole in the fabric of space-time, and all our bustling folks are somewhere in a parallel universe, where the rush never ceases, and the noise is a perpetual companion."
Bessie, her doggie brow furrowed in consideration, let out a soft bark, as if she were asking: 'Could that really be?'
Grandpa Jenkins laughed, a soft, rolling sound that ruffled Bessie's fur. "Or maybe," he added, "that old cameraman's got himself an invisibility device, borrowed from an alien friend perhaps. He sets it up, and poof, all the people vanish, just for a bit, just for the length of the walk."
A gentle breeze rustled the leaves in the trees nearby, a chorus of green sighs serenading the quiet afternoon. Bessie's tail thumped on the porch, her eyes gleaming with understanding.
"But I reckon," Grandpa Jenkins said, a mysterious smile playing on his lips, "the simplest answer's the most likely. That cameraman chose places where peace comes before people, where the rush of life slows down to a languid stroll, where the song of the cicadas matters more than the hustle of humanity."
His gaze drifted back to the old man with the lawnmower, who had finally managed to get the engine running, a triumphant smile spreading across his face. Bessie let out a happy woof, her golden tail sweeping dust off the porch floor.
"Y'see, Bess," Grandpa Jenkins said, leaning back into the rhythmic sway of the rocking chair, "sometimes, the absence of people is not a question, but an answer to the silent prayer of tranquility." He raised his lemonade glass in a silent toast to the vast empty streets of Relaxville, his smile a punctuation on a day that needed no words, only quiet appreciation.
And so they sat, man and dog, in comfortable silence, the mystery of the empty streets resolved for the moment, the peace of Relaxville undisturbed, a symphony of serenity and simplicity playing in the background of life's grand theater.

It is normal in the US, no one knows their neighbor, there is no balance, everything could be very beautiful and arranged, but everyone lives in their own bubble, in Latin America people are very close and go out to talk in the street in front of their houses with the neighbors, but our countries are poor and there is a lot of crime, that's why I say that those who have some lack others

    • @fredingram3731

Americans are busy with their own lives and only interact with their neighbors when they want to. Perhaps around the pool or at a Backyard BBQ. People value peace, quiet and privacy.

    • @JJFlores197
      @JJFlores197 Рік тому +2

To add: In the US, we have this idea ingrained about individuality. It doesn't mean that no one ever interacts with their neighbors. But as a whole, a lot of people value their privacy and peace.
I do agree it is a very sharp contrast. I have only ever lived in the US but I have visited Mexico numerous times over the years with my family. It is quite different over there because there a lot of people walking around the neighborhood. I get it, but I personally am not fond of that. What I mainly dislike is that where may grand parents live, there's always people making a ton of noise and selling stuff. There's a lady who passes around the neighborhood several times per day yelling "ELOTE!!!" (she's selling corn). You have the garbage truck passing through in the early morning and some guy hitting a metal stick on the truck alerting everyone they have arrived. There are trucks driving around in the morning with loudspeakers advertising natural gas. There was even one guy with a truck advertising food. I get that everyone is trying their best to make a living, but I just don't like the noise that comes with it. That's just my perspective and my fairly limited real-life experiences.

aside from what some of the other people pointed out here, typically if it's a weekday, husbands/fathers would be at work, kids would be at school, and the wives/mothers would be home or out running earrans, so during the weekday people aren't usually in the house the entire time. We used to live in Texas, same routine, me and my sibling would be at school, dad would be at work, mom doing things in the house or outside running earrans, only during the weekends would we be going down to the community pool or sports fields in the community with other people.
