I love the fact that in this modern era we can chose between hyper detailed or Lego style
I’m getting lego, hyper detailed always looks weird and I like the lego feel
The only customs I’ll accept are GCC cause they make actually lego looking stuff
So basically:
“I don’t care which Rex wins, I just want the official Lego Rex to lose.”

I really love the meticulous design of the CAC, but the simplicity and more “Lego” feeling from GCC is great as well
See I love detail(so I like something more akin to CAC) but I get the merit of both.
I don't think the Rex figure will stay exclusive. Rex supposedly has a very specific headprint in the venator set: A bandaid on his inhibitor chip scar, like we see in the finale of clone wars. I strongly believe we'll see him again in a smaller, cheaper set, maybe related to the bad batch. And he wont have the same headprint, which will be the only difference. I'm betting 20 bucks on it!
I'm not a fan of CAC's super detailed figures, but I love their accessories, like the visors and backpacks. I will say that I haven't seen anyone else make clone commandos.
It’s GCC for me 🤙🏻 I just love that it matches the official clones I have.

Fingers crossed they’re $2-3 a set, I’d gladly get his instead if he would be so competitive priced. Most others are mostly $3.50+….he could easily get it to be $2-3 a set and rake it in

GCC is the one that looks like it was actually made by Lego, it's that good. While CAC looks more like a rip-off with goofy arm printing, full torso printing and full leg printing, which make it look like it's not even Lego.
I'm fortunate enough to know someone who is getting multiple Venators and is selling me the Rex and Yularen for cheap, that's prolly the only reason i've been holding out on getting a GCC Rex, but it is super tempting just because I love the 2020 style of clone so much. And as someone who doesn't really mind the helmet holes too much, I think I can wait for the official Rex. Back in the day, I used to love Clone Army Customs, but a lot of their new stuff just seems overly detailed now. Not to say it isn't high quality or looks bad, it's just not for me. I remember getting their 2013 P2 Commander Cody at a lego convention in my state and meeting Tyler. For the time CAC was the best it could get.

I'm glad there are options for great customs that are all better than Lego's official figures, regardless of the level of detail or style.

Them being the same price, I would go for CAC. Especially since it includes the Kama and pauldron.
The problem there is that CAC cloth is pretty poor quality, it does not hold up at all in my experience.

Big kid brick has good cloth, but it’s mostly plain Jedi or sith capes etc

I actually wouldn't mind if CAC toned down the detail a little so it doesn't stand out as much from official Lego. I don't need 360 arm and leg printing, just good printing, if that makes sense, like more than GCC, but less than CAC. So, basically I agree with you.
they still ofer there normal p2 rex ho dos not have 360° printing and with the option to couse what helmet print you want the 20p2 helmet is great for fitting in to your normal lego 501 army
Super glad Rex is rumored to be getting a microfighter. Whether its the Venator Rex, or a newer, less detailed one is still up for debate, but its a cheap way to get him while i save money for CAC's Rex, so i'll take it

I really like them too! I wish the rangefinder didn't sit so high but the holes work well for every other accessory and I like having the customisation options.
I was stoked when CAC started releasing helmets separate from the figs...but when I saw the GCC Rex available in the shop, I jumped for the opportunity. Lego has had plenty of time to produce this level of quality for a figure and I personally wont be blowing $600 on a set for a figure I could spend $25 for and it still look more amazing than the official product. Great review!
you can buy cacs rex with the new 20p2 helmet for him making him look closer to legos eaven more

Excellent video! Thanks for your insights and thoughts on it all; My guess as to why both stores are not putting out the helmets and arms respectively as separate pieces for sale would be that they'd have to be priced disproportionately to what you'd expect. The reason being the much more difficult printing process for complex geometries such as the helmets and arms as compared to cubic, flat shapes like the main torso and legs, driving up the total costs. So, just pulling numbers out of my ...hat I'd guess you'd have to charge 10 bucks each for a pair of arms or a helmet for this whole thing to create the same net profit you get proportinately when selling the entire figure from a mixed cost POV.

I love that this video really shows how different GCC and CAC are. But both company's have a place in the custom market.
Both are to expensive for me but CAC’s seems like a much better deal.

I order the CAC Rex and I can’t wait for it to arrive I love all the details and for 27 dollars is amazing because the lowest price I could find for the less detailed lego Rex was 90 dollars.
Idk I love what gcc is doing making figures that look Lego like but honestly I don’t like the 2020 design so for me there not very likeable but I totally get why most people like their designs

I love both of these but I might buy Rex from Minifigs 4 u. Side printing that matches Lego's perfectly and the CAC damaged helmet with the scuffs and scratches looks stunning !

yeah cac has to much detail and lego would never put that much effort in to it i mean lust look at legos fox the leg printing and the torso printing is so wrong and lego can print white on red but cac can
I'm sorry but lego's rex is so much better than any GCC have made. The lego one had 2 issues: printed kama and lack of a black brow. Gcc has: no pauldron, no arm prints, the cheek print looks worse than lego, atrocious weld lines, the jaig eyes are incorrect and the legs have printing that is too low down to be truly "lego accurate" but yeah GCC is sooo much better. 🙄
