Mine has 3 different heat auras, and each one makes him fight differently. None: Standard. He'll kick and try to counter your attacks. Orange: Boxer. Fast attacks with long combos. Red: Cannon. He becomes incredibly aggressive, gaining super armor, and many of his attacks will send Kiryu flying. He is also immune to grabs. Purple: Wall. Mostly the same as Standard, but he'll draw upon his power occasionally to heal himself. Use a finishing throw to interrupt this if you have it. He'll also counter any grabs attempted.
purple was probably one of the more tedious parts of the fight but it was overall a great experience, especially considering the amount of blocking that usually happens

Fun fact: Mine used attack moves from two characters in Sega's obscure beat 'em up series called Spikeout. Spike Jr's uppercut and fully charged attack and White's sweep kicks. It's interesting how they reused animations even before Yakuza.
Just finished Yakuza 3 Remastered on Steam. And damn, I empathized him when he wants to meet Kiryu earlier in life. Still, he's a powerful boss to fought against. And I can't even believe his the first guy who did the Style switching before Kiryu in Yakuza 0 and Kiwami!

He had a tragic life and obviously had psychological traumas. I wish he never committed suicide. He should've threw Richardson off the roof and start a new life with Daigo and Kiryu.
This fight was by far the most memorable for Kiryu currently given the fact both of them grew up in a Orphanage driven by nothing but ambition and lonliness. It was sad how Mine died tho. That was practically Kiryu’s brother the way they fought out their emotions.
Honestly I didn't like yakuza 3 all that much but that being said I couldn't find a single flaw with the mine fight it was just a blast from start to finish
The second half of the game was amazing, but the first half of the game was an overload of Dad Simulator. It was nice seeing Kiryu being a responsible and kind father figure for the kids with a soft side for Haruka, but almost an entire half of the storyline of the above is not something I would have expected in a Yakuza game. Still, the second half made an amazing comeback for a slow first half ngl.
I actually really like the gameplay, and I played the two Kiwamis before it. Snappy, quick and let you do a lot of cool combos. I didn't like Yakuza 3 after finishing it, but it grew on me. I think it's one of the better games in the series now, a lot in part to the Summer-esque environments. Plus, the story's kinda wacky. Kiryu runs an orphanage now, but it's being threatened by shady dealings. But yeah, good game.
As Saejima said, killing yourself for "redemption" wont do shit, If Mine lived, so much could've prevented so much, and could've helped just as much, just like Nishiki, he didn't have to die. But it does go for show why Saejima and Kiryu are Legends, and they were not
I mean, Nishiki didn't exactly do it for redemption. He came to terms and realized what he did, and couldn't live with himself. It's not redemption if you don't intend on being forgiven. Although Mine definitely shouldn't have died, L story choice.
Which is kinda BS because Mine has a tattoo of a Kirin - the only known creature that can _slay a dragon_ - and indeed, he actually gave Kiryu a struggle where most other bosses in the series didn't.
7:40 epic ending of the theme. Also interesting how Mine put his right hand around kiryu's neck and fell down and accepted his defeat Also at 2:42 and 6:00 that's my most favorite moment of all. The piano and the rock guitar build up was so great, I will never forget this track. The piano and the rock guitar build up also displays Yoshitaka Mine's Life. The piano build up part on that reminds me that he had a rough childhood, He did everything he can to earn money and he succeeded yes. His life was sad, He had no companions and all that even that assistant.. But Mine can get really Brutal and that's where the rock part comes in. He was a tough opponent for sure. I'm glad that Yoshitaka Mine is the Final Opponent. Man Hidenori Shoji did a great job making this track. If you listen closely at 2:55 or 6:14 you can hear some violin parts in it too
It was gonna be a punch, that turned into a hug because he was beaten by the fatigue. That hug, in turn, symbolizes Mine's acceptance to defeat and as a man's gratitude to another by a "friendly" gesture. It can also be considered that the action turned from hostility to hospitality, showing Mine's relationship to Kiryu turning from an enemy to a friend.
man i had a blast with Y3, from start to finish, learning the moves and how to use the Bound mechanic (best mechanic in the franchise and it should return), Mine fight is amazing i love it, even tho i destroyed him with counters and the wall, the fight still was amazing and one of the best in the franchise
Im done with being ugly and fat. This song and the entire game has been a comfort place for me since i beat it the first time.. I will listen to this song while im working out... i will come back and give updates... just because xD
I'm disappointed by how no one is mentioning the fact that it's a remix of Rikya's death theme. That's the very thing that makes this so good for me. It's like Kiryu is avenging him
@@huuuuuuuh60871 The Metal Gear was the designation given to various models of bipedal tanks. Metal Gear were behemoth machines capable of decimating lesser machines. Metal Gear had the distinction of being nuclear capable, firing warheads from their rail gun, eliminating the need for a missile, or launchpad allowing them to attack targets from anywhere in the world, on any kind of terrain. This peaked with Metal Gear REX which was sophisticated enough to launch a nuke and hit a target from anywhere in the world. REX also had the distinction of being completely untraceable. The general definition of a Metal Gear prior to the collapse of the war economy was a mobile nuclear launch platform similar in purpose to ballistic missile submarines. However, its precise definition was debatable, as many other weapons had been designed to fill a similar role, or had used the same technology. The individual units had varied greatly in appearance and size, but their purpose had always been the same-to destabilize the global balance of power via the threat of covert long-range nuclear attack. The term "Metal Gear" was coined by Soviet weapons scientist Aleksandr Leonovitch Granin to describe to Naked Snake in 1964 the "missing link" between infantry and artillery: infantry could roam the battlefield at will, but were both vulnerable and lacking in firepower; artillery could inflict immense damage upon an opponent while resisting similar damage, but was at the mercy of the terrain. Granin envisioned a tank with legs, enabling it to quickly traverse the battlefield, inflicting and repelling damage on a scale never before seen. Following an encounter with a Gekko in 2014, Otacon explained to Old Snake that what made a "Metal Gear" was specifically its nuclear launch capability, or in the case of RAY, being designed specifically to eliminate REX as an application of overall nuclear strategy.[1] Considering Granin's original coinage of the term, it could be therefore assumed that a Metal Gear could be defined as a bipedal nuclear weapon. Not only did this negate the Gekkos and the Mk. II/Mk. III from being true Metal Gears, but it also discounted Metal Gear RAY. Otacon noted that RAY was an exception to the definition, as it was overall created under the premise of nuclear strategy (it targeting nuclear warhead-equipped Metal Gears

A lot of music in the games and remakes that came after 3 use a motif from this song and it’s become a pretty normal occurrence throughout the series. I think the most obvious use of it is in Battle for the Dream, the final boss theme of yakuza 5. Mine was also just a really memorable boss fight with a banger like this in background.
Few games and movies are sufficiently swollen with kindness, humanism, and manly power to blast their rad-ass theme song over the final boss fight, but my hat is off to the ones that do. It never fails to make me incredibly happy.
It makes me sad because this music reminds me a lot of F-Zero GX due to the same composer, knowing we're not gonna get another game kind of hurts. Honestly I can imagine racing around a difficult stage to this song
Just imagine what we would get if Y3 got the Kiwami treatment. An already great game getting even better (hopefully the OST too). Remember using the same styles as Shibusawa in the finale against him? You could do this with Mine.
With how Lost Judgment is doing well, especially each time a new dragon engine game gets released it gradually becomes better, Kiwami 3 would end up being a favorite with many people
I would love to see Okinawa in the Dragon Engine, as Onomichi, which is kind of similar to Okinawa from the aesthetics is the most beautiful location in the entire franchise.
Not unless they overhauled Kiryu's fighting mechanics in the dragon engine, since they're pretty wack in both 6 and Kiwami 2. Seeing Ryukyu rendered in the dragon engine would look incredible though, and it's one of my favorite locations in the series.
Yeah, Kiryu's fighting style is so bare bones in 6 and K2, especially compared to Yagami. If they ever make Kiwami 3 he'll definitely have some sort of style switching, cuz Mine also has different styles in his fight. Also Ryukyu in dragon engine would look jaw droppingly beautiful.
@@monsterrj2155 Not only that, bosses also seem have little to no recovery on attacks to be able to properly punish. It made the first half of the game really drag on because bosses kept turning around before their recovery animation started. The worst offender though (who I will not name for spoiler reasons) is the one you fight on the roof. You probably know the one.
Going through essentially the arduously flawed fighting system. Mine always turned out to be an interesting character for me. Confused on why I just got a hunch that this handsome man would eventually be the final boss when he actually loyally supports Daigo. Throughout the game it slowly showcased that he's a soulless psychopath but the fact is that he's supposedly on our side only made me even more interested in him. Throughout his life he was only an empty man who only yearned for worth and meaning in his life as well as the warm feeling of treating and getting treated kindly by other people. Something that Kiryu humbly possesses despite both of them having similar origins of being orphans. The very thing that Mine hates about him. In the end atleast he found solace that he was able to sacrifice himself for the only 2 men who treated him kindly ever since his foster father died. I just wish the game had more chances to flesh out his personality and had more screentime. But even then he's easily the most colorful and well written character in this game in particular for me. Though I wanted to destroy him when he slapped Haruka, I too wish that he, Kiryu, and Daigo would be laughing at Serena with drinks in hand in another life.
My impression of Yakuza 3 goes that the music is superb, the story premise, characters and setting were great but left some qualities to be desired. Fighting mechanics were certainly not the greatest out of the franchise but was bearable to deal with and use. For side missions i can only say that it was alright with mixed impressions. But with minigames compared to Yakuza 4 & 5. There is very little to nothing memorable or exciting to do in 3 which hurts to think about. But overall my review of Yakuza 3 would definitely be a score of a solid 6 out of 10. As for what I have currently experienced as of now. I have to say that Yakuza 5, Yakuza 2 Kiwami and Yakuza 0 by far. Have to be the top 3 best Yakuza games in the franchise. Across all categories Now to be fair I wont spoil why I think this but Rikiya from Yakuza 3 although is the best aniki bro character for Kiryu. Nishki and Shinji can't be compared to him as great as they both are. Side note for y'all who've already played 4,5&6. As much as Akiyama is one of my top favorite side characters. I do not think he counts specifically for the best "aniki bro" the fact being that he isn't a member of any yakuza. But instead is a secondary protagonist who goes alongside Kiryu who's basically a mix of all 3 aniki characters Nishki, Shinji and Rikiya. While still being an image of what Nishki could've been for Kiryu. Had he stayed to who he was before everything happened to him. If that makes sense. Overall though it is a must to experience Yakuza 3 despite it not aging well with it's very clear setbacks. But is still a good game to playthrough especially when doing it chronologically.

Y'know, after beating Yakuza 3 Remastered for the first time I definitely understand why people consider it the weakest entry in the franchise. That being said, it being the weakest in the series doesn't mean it isn't still great. I consider Phantom Blood to be the weakest part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, but it's still a damn good part and so is Yakuza 3.
Just Finished Yakuza 3, despite people saying the combat is bad, I didn't feel it was terrible, if anything it's more strategic and challenging. As in Kiwamis and Zero you can go swing your fists randomly and you will hit someone, that shit didn't worked in 3, you have to dodge enemies and then counter them in the back, or start your combo swinging the air and landing Only the finishing blows, getting good at komaki moves also felt good and pretty mandatory for smooth gameplay. And Mine's Fight required all of what you learned.
Completely agree. I will say I wish the game gave you parry, tiger drop and knock back right at the beginning tho, combat would have been so much more fun that way. Unfortunately many who play the game probably just b-line the main story and don't unlock all these moves as well as the amazing heat moves you can discover
Legend difficulty hurts to play through 3 on. The fight balancing on harder difficulties was abysmal. Most enemies would be able to block right out of your combos even if you hit them from the backside. As a game, it's okay. But it is regarded as the worst game in the main series for quite a few reasons. And the infinite blocking is one of those reasons.
Yakuza 3 has its moments, but again, they get brought down by what the game does wrong.
I have the most vivid memory of this fight, it was wonderful. Landing a clean Tiger Drop sent him flying back, and as he pushed himself off the metal and concrete, Kiryu just lights up a cigarrette. Mine comes running back, only to be on the receiving end of that same cigarette being spat out at him.

This fight was by far the most memorable for Kiryu currently given the fact both of them grew up in a Orphanage driven by nothing but ambition and lonliness. It was sad how Mine died tho. That was practically Kiryu’s brother the way they fought out their emotions.
This song perfectly captures "I dont want to fight you, but it's too late to turn back."

The first ever dynamic intro, and they absolutely nailed it.
Honestly I didn't like yakuza 3 all that much but that being said I couldn't find a single flaw with the mine fight it was just a blast from start to finish
Yeah like, yakuza 3 story wise is like A tier for me, but gameplay wise its the worst one for me, every boss sucked soo much (except mine of course)
Yeah the story is pretty great but I didn't enjoy the gameplay until at least late hospital
But I fully agree there
The second half of the game was amazing, but the first half of the game was an overload of Dad Simulator.
But yeah, good game.
i would pay whatever it takes to have the final moments of my life be a rooftop battle with this playing
As Saejima said, killing yourself for "redemption" wont do shit, If Mine lived, so much could've prevented so much, and could've helped just as much, just like Nishiki, he didn't have to die. But it does go for show why Saejima and Kiryu are Legends, and they were not

Also interesting how Mine put his right hand around kiryu's neck and fell down and accepted his defeat
Also at 2:42 and 6:00 that's my most favorite moment of all.

Though I wanted to destroy him when he slapped Haruka, I too wish that he, Kiryu, and Daigo would be laughing at Serena with drinks in hand in another life.
one of the best themes in all of yakuza
One of the best showdowns in Yakuza's history.
Across all categories
Now to be fair I wont spoil why I think this but Rikiya from Yakuza 3 although is the best aniki bro character for Kiryu.
Although I love Rikiya, Nagumo is my favorite "aniki bro" of his.
Hey when you play the originals Yakuza 1 and 2 first and THEN play 3 you can see that the side quests were evolving to what they are today. They were a lot more basic back then with only a few really standing out
@@pedromello7835 I really wish I could someday just to hear the legendary voice of Mark Hamel's joker-like voice for Majima. But I only got an xbox so it's a shame i won't ever play The originals from way back when they started.
Man when this song started I got so excited, amazing song for mine!
I dont care what people say. Yakuza 3 is amazing, besides the combat
There's no change in the plans
I never noticed how weird Kiyu's shoulder looks in this image
Y'know, after beating Yakuza 3 Remastered for the first time I definitely understand why people consider it the weakest entry in the franchise. That being said, it being the weakest in the series doesn't mean it isn't still great. I consider Phantom Blood to be the weakest part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, but it's still a damn good part and so is Yakuza 3.
And this finally gets a remix in Ishin Kiwami!!!
I tried to beat the game without making Kiryu a drug addict and it made fights even more boring and long.
@@chry9353 I gave up on Legend because of the Mack Chase lmao. It's not even that hard but it's right after that Avoiding police section and Men In Black Fight, and it's easy to mess up, I lost 2 times and was like, fuck this 🤣
@@BaruGaming I almost gave up right there as well. Especially with no medicine or equipment it wasn’t fun to go through that again
Let be honest here guys the first bosses of the game they where more harder than the dark souls series boss
Just defeated mine today felt awesome listening to this while fighting him
Salute Mine,Not blocking every single move,Having fighting style before it's was cool,Fun fight and dope soundtrack!
My favorite Boss fight, favorite OST and ,most importantly, favorite Yakuza game. I understand the criticism but this game is special for Kuroda as well. The orphanage arc, Okinawa, first dynamic boss intro and the best boss fights (for me). Arguably Mine is the ultimate boss that poses challenge and a thrilling fight. Every other final boss is cake-walk and braindead compared to him.
THICC Early PS3 KIRYU!
@Zinok Whoselah leaving the orphanage is a hell of a drug!
Start this song as an intro, end it as a final boss music
Best Yakuza boss after Shibusawa
YAKUZA 3 ON PC LETS FUCKING GHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
