Like what Kristina Kanders wrote, what happens to the plastic that's around the paper waste? The more the public learns about the harm plastic does in the ocean and in our food systems the more terrifying it is.
Amazing video! And, now we know how so much trash ends up in the Hudson River. It's nice they cover the barge AFTER the garbage has been dumped, but tons of stuff is going directly into the water when the trucks dump. Regardless, incredible process.
Bill Ding exactly btw if you like that transfer station you should check out the one in south Brooklyn by Coney Island it just went online not too long ago and is state of the art man what a beautiful building 👍🏼
Cute. But some paper needs to be securely shredded before this process. NYC only offers ShredFest which only runs for a maximum of 6 hours one day a year for 8 million residents. Needs help, badly.
How it's Made this is not... Waste 90% of the time just watching paper being moved from garbage trucks to barge, then barge to be picked up into the stock hold... and then like 20 seconds there from pulp into paper... What the hell
Brilliant work. Insane world.
Cool video
Thanks for posting this clip. Great music too.
Cool documentary. Wonder what happens to the plastic in the paper waste. (How) is it sorted out?
Anyway, well done!
This is exactly my question. The video is really unclear.
