My Dad loved this show, but the opening scene always made him laugh because their was a old Ferguson tractor in the background. That model would have been brand new in the 1950s
I have to comment now my uncle was German, he married my aunt, then they had Julie, who went on to marry Gary, the son of Peter Alice the Golfing commentator, bigots are everywhere, long live God!
Agreed, she's the only character I find off-putting. I knew a girl with the same leering expression on her face who ended up being quite promiscuous and would try to steal other women's husbands/boyfriends. I think the actress played her way too smirky.
I have watched this TV series since it was first show and have loved it always, I wonder if reading the books would be worthwhile or would they be so different they would change my view of the TV version. There has only one niggle for me with this show and that is, as much as I love Catherine Zeta Jones's character why do they always have perfic hairdo's and to be wearing fancy posh frocks while cleaning or washing up etc? The producers should not allow the actors ego's to spoil the realism of the show with their bigheaded look at me i'm a star BS.
An excellent performance by David Jason & Pam Ferris. I watch this programme all the time
I WATCH THIS SERIES FROM TOP TO BOTTOM EVERY XMAS. in memory of my Dad and his family
Primrose the stalker! 🤣
2:45 Alf Ventress (Simon Williams) from Heartbeat, great actor - RIP
28:05 George Ward - landlord also starred in Heartbeat (Stuart Golland), great actor - RIP
Another brilliant programme - HB.
My Mam loved watching this, one of her favorite programmes.

My favourite opening titles to a programme ever. Simply stunning ❤️
I read all 5 of the larkin books as a young teen.
This series embodies the spirit .
Thank you.
What a fine cast of actors. David Jason rules the house. Thanks for posting!

wish I had this life
perfect simply perfect
Primrose is suffering from the horrendous side effects of education.
Okay, okay, I admit it, I shed a tear at the end of that one. I'm just an old softie that likes happy endings. So there!
Is it just me or does Peter look like a very young Patrick Swayze?
Great show
my favourite episode
Peter is perfect!
Perfick*

Primrose is a bit creepy

The wether is allways fine, and they are eating outside like in Italy. Does'nt look like England to me.
I've read a lot. Literature too. Jane Austen is a bore next to the Larkins.
