Mr. Schmitt, you represented your wife brilliantly. You were controlled, succint, and stoic in the face of your wife's attacker. Your strength made him look even more the devil, especially while facing his sickening questions. Your wife would be so proud of you. There was nothing you could have done to protect her or foresee that her trusting nature would encounter pure evil that day. You defended her and spoke on her behalf. I pray that you will find some peace and solace in knowing that your testimony helped put him away. My heart and condolences go out to you and your family. ❤❤❤😭

He is not at all a disgusting human being. Because he's not even a human being to begin with, he is evil incarnate. A soulless monster. A waste of oxygen walking around on 2 legs. I don’t know if I could sit there and listen to the details of her attack again and again. He was absolutely solid, composed, and believable. I was so angry when that monster kept pushing about this poor woman not wanting to go to the hospital. If she did not want to go initially, that is an absolutely typical response from a victim of sexual assault. Shame, embarrassment, fear, and anxiety drive a sexual assault victim in nearly every case in the beginning. It is exemplified in victims who are "older". He is disgusting. I hope he has a miserable experience in prison. I can't imagine even the hardest inmate not being disgusted by someone who sexually assaulted a senior citizen. He is a demon. God Bless 🥰

They will still be in the courtroom and will be able to argue an objections etc. It wouldn't be any different than having an attorney cross examine a witness. There are several complications with having a stand-in when it comes to pro se defendants. A lot of the questions that are asked on cross-examination are reactions to the testimony given. Also, what happens when that stand-in reacts negatively to a posed question? Yohn's insistance on focusing on the anus for example. Could you see a normal, rational person show no abhorance if they had to read those questions during a trial? An argument could be made before an appellate court that using a court-appointed stand-in would: first, be a violation of the accused rights to face their accusers, second, taint the jury with expressions or reactions to information outside their prior knowledge, and lastly, be a form of court-appointed counsel forced upon a defendant who refused the right to counsel.

This trial is abhorrent in every way, it is beyond comprehension that such an audacious, evil bad excuse for a man is allowed to interview the victim's husband and the sane nurse just so that he can take himself back to the scene of his crime and enjoy it all over again!! There are really no adequate words in the English language to describe the utter frustration I feel watching him relive his assault on a poor innocent lady, all the while "interrogating" whoever he likes just to get his jollies. My God, it is totally insane and if the Prosecution have any solid evidence like DNA of the scene, then it should never have been allowed to happen. He has realized that he will be going to jail after this and will never see the light again, so of course, being a psychopathic narcissist, he will enjoy and savor every minute of the last of his free days. I don't know why it is allowed to happen, but I really wish the Judge could just shut it down and have done with the hypocrisy.

Because it’s innocent until proven guilty. It’s the fundamentals that every law hangs upon. You may not like it. But say you were wrongly accused, you would want the right to defend yourself. The law has to apply for everyone and all situations. By not allowing it the court would already be siding with the victim and prejudicing against the defendant.
No matter how abhorrent it may seem, it’s sadly essential to a fair legal system.

But, like with Brooks, there was one witness or one part of the events the State wouldn't go into, because it was too painful for the witness. Exactly, he’s getting real enjoyment out of this. The judge needs to move this along better, like the judge in the Brooks trial did. His annoyance with this trial is evident, yet he’s continually letting the defendant ask irrelevant and repetitive questions.

There is a special place in the afterlife for this type of monster. I am disgusted by this whole case. He shouldn't be allowed to ask these questions.

This guy is SO SICK with these questions to this victim’s husband!!! Reliving his sick, perverted, heinous crime on a helpless older woman is despicable!!!! He’s probably getting some sick pleasure from these questions!! He’s not fit or safe to be in society imo!!

I asked this a bit further down. Like is he representing himself as a control thing or do you think it's so he can relive what he did in some sort deprivped sick manor??xx

@@HappyHalloween47 yes I definitely believe he’s doing this to relive his perversion and actually enjoyed asking this poor man these questions. Just unbelievable and kind of sicker than Darryl Brooks although not as heinous but I think you know what I mean.
So sad what he put this poor woman through 😢🙏

Oh how I wish Tina had been able to get to that hand gun. I think the fact that her husband moved it bothers him tremendously. He can't blame himself, but who amongst us, God forbid we were in his shoes wouldn't feel absolutely devastated by the fact that you moved the gun? Oh, how I wish ahe had been able to get to it. My heart breaks for her husband. I just can't even imagine. This defendant is an absolutely wicked, evil devil. God Bless 🥰

But don’t know for sure outcome even then. Maybe she not able to pull trigger in time and this monster gets the gun. Would all hope that yes got gun and shot him but no way to know.

@traveltm She died shortly after the attack. It would be a gamble worth taking as I see it, both in hindsight as well as in the moment. The cowardly jerk most likely would have turned tail, run, and just stole the car.

This monster is getting off on the details of his reaction when he found his wife. It’s unbelievable that a murderer can question the victims spouse. What a sociopath!!!

Agree. He probes into the details--and thus into the husband's heart--of vaginal and anal harm, blood in the Depends, even the hip replacements and walker. There's a kind of glee in his questions and follow-up questions.

The Judge in this case displays extreme patience and has given this defendant great latitude in his questioning of the deceased victim's husband. This is one defendant who'll never see a successful appeal.
