For competitive FPS games, absolutely. Even going higher than 240hz will give you noticeably improvements in motion clarify that have non-negligible effects on the experience and your performance in game. He shows valorant here, and all of the pros in that game will tell you not only that 240hz is way better than 120 or so, but that the 540hz monitors are loads better than 240hz,
For meda consumption, day-to-day tasks, AAA games, or any game that can't be run at over 200 fps, it's not necessary or helpful at all.
