Epic! I've got a 2nd gen Civic that I'd love to put a B16 in. It's essentially the same car as the Acclaim, I'm actually running an Acclaim engine (which is Honda anyway) at the moment as my old one let go.
Used to have a Triumph Acclaim for my second car in 2001 ... i was 18 :) Loved it.. Twin carb 1.3

Reminds me of a bloke I met years ago who put a sierra cosworth engine in his Dolomite Sprint.Last I heard it was running over 600bhp.It was beast of a machine.

Passed my driving test in one of them !! Yellow with black roof. Did a few lessons in a Ford fiesta Mk1 1100........until another student reversed it into a lamp post so on the day of the test i drove the driving instructors Triumph Dolomite Sprint !! It was like chalk and cheese but i passed first time and never forgot that car !. That's a lovely conversion, well done for keeping an old classic on the road and turning heads .

Awesome car, my mate had a dolomite in the 80s! I love the front end especially, got an Italian look to it with black grill.
Italian look is right. The Dolomite was designed by Giovanni Michelotti.

My 78 Sprint had twin DCOE 48's.
They were too big so I swapped them for 45's.Lowered the suspension and put on Pirelli P6's.135mph flat out was scary.

The Dolomite Sprint was supposed to be a V8 but they cut the engine literally in half due to the 70’s oil crisis. That’s why it’s a slanted 4 cylinder motor.

Always loved Triumph Dolomite Sprints and this one is an absolute belter. Only things I'd change would be- put the chrome bits back on it & add a set of minilite alloys. Nice conversion!

My dream car. I almost bought a 1750 dolomite back in the 80's, as my first car. Too many people scared me with ill informed mechanical stories of woe, so I never bought it. It has been a big regret since then. I still want one now. This is a NICE one😊😊😊

My second car was a Dolly. 1.5 twin carb. Learned how to drift and do donuts in it. The rear diff is a weak point lol. Wish they made a two door version.
They did - Triumph Toledo 2 door.
Sprint diff is a completely different beast
Godspeed in bridgend s Wales do the Princess caliper conversions and brakes for loads of different vehicles, check them out, high quality highly recommended.

Triumph never done the Dolomite Sprint in black? Strange my old boy had one in black with the bottom half grey when they came out. It also had the Triumph Reef on the bonnet.
you did get dolomite sprints in black but was special order only and prob cost lots more from British Layabouts who flung cars together silly how Toledo and dolomites same car but toledos front wheel drive dollys rear wheel drive and ppl wonder why no british Leyland anymore as couldn't make minds up as well as shoddy build quality this ones superior to original and prob built better than factory did
The toledo was rear wheel drive, the triumph 1500 was front wheel drive, that looked just like a dolomite

@@monkylondon It still is a good car to be honest, I love it, 2 litre v6 with 2 cherry bombs on the back haha! Yeahh basically, its the same platform and the diesel had a 2 litre bmw engine too. But its a fun car to drive even with 147bhp from new haha

I had a dolly 1500 hl when at college in the 80s. Mine was never as good as yours. That is one cool car. I loved my little dolly many happy times in it.
I had a sprint back in the day, nothing but problems with it. But i loved that car
