BC Transit Victoria 9535 | 2020 ADL Enviro500 | 72 Downtown

Welcome aboard Victoria's newest buses, the Alexander Dennis Enviro500! Here is a ride on route 72 Downtown from Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal to downtown Victoria, one of two main routes connecting the BC Ferries terminal with the city centre, the other being 70 which is an express route.
BC Transit ordered 11 of these new buses in 2020 (numbered 9532-9542) to replace 10 of the oldest double deckers, the Dennis Trident built in 2000. BC Transit was the first user of double deckers in bus transit in North America, as the short city blocks in downtown Victoria and elsewhere in the city precludes the use of articulated buses. These new buses were delivered in early 2021 and entered service in late March 2021.
There are many new features introduced on this series of buses, including:
*USB ports
*Vinyl seats
*New driver door
*Redesigned wheelchair securements
*Lower deck screen showing seat availability upstairs
*Side docking lights outside for better visibility at bus stop at night
