Dear diy-ers, buy an angle grinder for cutting rebar. My dad an I used a rotary tool for years and it was really slow, but it has been awesome for wood working. An angle grinder is the right tool for cutting larger pices of metal. The rotary tool is for fine things for when you need precision.
I purchased the Bauer for $30 And the Dremel Ez Lock blades highly recommended don’t use the ones that come with the rotary tool for cutting heavy metal. I cut off a sway bar end link made of steel from my car. It took me like an hour but it got the job done. In an emergency it comes in handy.
yeah but isn't that overworking the motor, I mean for an hour ... I just bought this on special at HF and was wondering how reliable longevity is for a usb product
I use rotary tools for sharpening household scissors and garden tools. I have several Dremels with flex shafts and a Bauer cordless. For my use the Bauer fits a niche when corded Dremels are inconvenient. In fact I plan on getting another Bauer soon. I have Milwaukee cordless drills and love them but I just couldn’t pull the trigger for the rotary tool. Great review and you have a new sub.
Guess it is an option if the smaller tools don't have enough power for what you do, seemed like a pretty decent kit for that price. Was the unusual shape okay to hold if you wanted to do something like engraving?
Yeah I think its a good mid spec rotary tool for the price. Seeing you get the case and a good amount of accesories. It looks weird, but it feels similar to any other Dremel, actually a little better if your comparing it to a 8220.
Personally don’t see the big draw for the M12. I have fuel angle grinder and multi tool which are great values. If you need a “heavier duty” dremel, consider an M12 die grinder which will have the larger collet and you can always throw on a 1/8 adapter. This Bauer has been a great value for light duty small work.
I just looked and the Milwaukie would be $264 for two batteries (no charger!), rotary kit, and the tool. Harbor Freight Bauer gives you tool, battery and charger, and rotary kit for $45??? Wha??? There is no comparison. If you are hard core user then sure buy the Milwaukie, I love Milwaukie's tools and batteries. But for something I'll use occasionally, the Bauer is for me. My Bauer impact drill and it's battery is awesome. I do wish I could charge the different tools universally but that dream will never happen so just have to deal with different batteries. NBD. I am curious how long the Bauer battery lasts vs others being 8v vs. the Milwaukie 12v, would have been nice to see that, but your video is 5 star! Thank you!
Yeah price to performance its defiantly a good deal, I was surprised. It would be nice if more batterys and chargers were universal. I haven't come up with a good way to test runtime yet, high rpm is tricky almost need like a RC car motor dyno.. Thanks!
I wonder if the adapter thread of the Bauer and the Ryobi are compatible with Dremel's accessories like the "Right angle die grinder adapter" or the "flex shaft"?
Looking for something between my 7 watt hobby rotary tool ( Hardell- a stylo clone ) and my Dremel 4200 picked this Bauer up today for under 30$, so I took a 2yr warranty out for eight $ still under 40 out the door.
Yeah I don’t like that chuck at all, unscrewed it from the tool and was able then to get the attachment out of it. I switched mine back to the old style.
if your gonna cut rebar buy a corded dremel or use a different tool. allot of time you just need it for simple jobs, which is why i dont like the larger dremels. there too big in the hands. versatility is important.
omg I just bought it for 39.95 and it was said to be on sale ... taking it back and looking for something else. I also have concern about the micro charge style does that hold up?
It falls in a middle performance category, it has 55% the power a 8220 or 8240 has and 45% compare to 8250 and 8260 when cutting rebar. But on the flip side when it is compared to the small rotary tools like a Dremel lite its 6x faster and 9x faster than the Dremel 7350. That being said I would not recommended this for use with a cut off wheel. Can you probably get the job done, yes but its going to stall out multiple times. I feel this tool like the small rotary tools is good for sanding, polishing engraving etc not high demanding loads. So being its half the price of a 8220 or 8240 it acutaly has about half the performance.
There’s a new want to be ryobi lol it’s called populo 20V Cordless Rotary Tool Kit, 1/8". You need to test if possible it’s on Amazon . How loud , how strong , fast you need to verify on your channel test hehe. But it’s cheap
Don’t forget. Bauer is only $50, often on sale for $35, definitely a great option for weekend warriors
Yep probably the best value on the market IMO.
I got one today for 35

I'm sure most people know that or at least I would hope that is the case, but in the case of this video, it's just being used as a bench test
I purchased the Bauer for $30

Yeah I think its a good value, and love the EZ disc's.

Really a lot of these tasks I'd use an angle grinder but sometimes something like that is useful

Yeah you cant beat the the Bauer for the price, thanks for the sub!
Thanks for the video man It's on sale for $29.99 now The only reason I was thinking about getting it
No problem, yeah I think its a good value. I have been using it for a while now without issues.
Bought mine today when I saw the
Any updates? I just remember sometimes people say "Nothing that rotates at high speeds from HF"

I just bought one on sale for $35, hoping to make a little jig to make some wood blocks for my new nephew and niece
Nice should work good for that.
Thank you for the review!
No problem! Glad you liked it!

Ya, u don't buy into milwaukee just for the rotary kit... it makes way more sense to buy the bare tool assuming u already have m12 batteries.
I wonder if the adapter thread of the Bauer and the Ryobi are compatible with Dremel's accessories like the "Right angle die grinder adapter" or the "flex shaft"?
Yeah the Bauer has the proper threads for it so most of the common dremel adapters should work.
Looking for something between my 7 watt hobby rotary tool ( Hardell- a stylo clone ) and my Dremel 4200 picked this Bauer up today for under 30$, so I took a 2yr warranty out for eight $ still under 40 out the door.
Nice, yep I think its a good value for the money. I have been using it for a few months now without any issues.
Love the detail in these videos..subscribed
Thanks, and thanks for the sub!
Can you put in your videos the claimed RPM and actual RPM to see the difference between the PR marketing tricks companies use.
I must have missed it on this one, normally I do.
@@Tools-Tested No worries next video we will see it. Thank you for good straight on point videos and the informative comparison tests.
Would have been nice if you had shown how to attach a cutting wheel...
Great review, thanks!
Thanks!, No problem!
Great video, informative and straight to the point, perfect!!! Thank you!! Liked and subscribed 👍
No problem! Thanks for the Sub!
Hey ples tell me how to fix the chuck I just got my ryobi USB lithium tool kit I have accidentally broken the chuck
Yeah I don’t like that chuck at all, unscrewed it from the tool and was able then to get the attachment out of it. I switched mine back to the old style.

Did the Ryobi stall out on you at all?
Yeah if you push it, it will stall out.
You can pick up the Bauer for 26$ now

@@Tools-Tested Ah I got it. I wouldn't have figured that out by myself. Cheers brother! 🙏
Lol wanna use it to file my nails haha 😂
I'd get the ryobi HP, or a old dremel that was 3$ at a thrift store lol, also micro USB=bin
There’s a new want to be ryobi lol it’s called populo

Wow, what a genius review? Its not as good as Milwaukee but better than Ryobi. Who would have guessed? JFC
Yep looks like a good value for the price.
Wheres the dremel
