There's a red dot on the tires that's supposed to align with stem valve for correct alignment. "The red dot marks the tire’s high point, or the point of maximum radial force variation. In simpler terms, it’s the point where the tire’s radial runout is highest. Aligning this dot with the wheel’s low point (often the valve stem) helps in achieving a more balanced tire-wheel assembly."
Tip: When doing large tires, if the machine asks for a lot of weight, break the bead and rotate the tire on the wheel 90°. The pump up and try balancing again.
you'll love having your own tire machines. Yep messing up my brand new wheels was the straw that broke the camels back for me as well. ANd for me its a hour drive to the tire shop and back... now i just do it myself, in less time that it takes to drive to and from a tire shop. Put mine in a 12x6 enclosed trailer with a air compressor and genset, so its a mobile tire shop if i want it to be one.
I really appreciate videos like this. I’ve been hesitant to order anything from Temu but trust your opinion/recommendations. Quick question: did you bolt the tire changer to the floor?
Glad to see you are adding equipment to your garage. Please be sure to take caution when filling the tires with air and make sure you keep all fingers away from the rim and the bead of the tire when filling with air. I had a coworker loos a finger when filling and it was caught between the rim and the bead.
I bought a set for 2800$ a few years ago with the helping hand arms on the tire machine and it’s been great. Waiting hours at a tire place for them to ruin your wheels is the best reason to get a set if you can.
Nice buy.🎉 I have a similar set myself I find the wheel balancer is okay, I definitely get a little better results now that it's bolted to the floor and doesn't ever so slightly vibrate causing it to have misreadings. My set came with attachments for motorcycle wheels the tire machine is good but I don't think the balancer hardly works at all for motorcycles..
That is an old school wheel balancer. I used the same one 30 plus years ago when I was starting out as a mechanic. (Different brand) Still a great balancer. Nice purchase.
If your tires have TPMS sensors, make sure that you DO NOT break the beads close to the valve stem. Doing so could break the sensor. Just a tip from a former tire buster.
When you are installing a tire on the rim, on the second "outside" bead, push the tire down so it has some give when it stretches the bead going on. watch your fingers.
👍👍👍🫵🪨. Good luck with the balancer and the tire changer one thing on the balancer. I’m surprised it didn’t come with a protective cover for the tire because with the RPMs that it spins if there’s any loose gravel in the used tires if you spin them, they can fly out in a really high velocity, which is really dangerous. I used to work in a tire shop when I was younger. I’m older now a lot older lol and I’ve seen serious injury when guys didn’t put the covers down and they should always come with a cover that would be my only concern. Make sure when you’re using a spinning a used tire that is free of any stones or anything that could fly off of it or make sure you’re not standing in front of the machine you’re standing to the side when you’re spinning a tire please I don’t want to see anybody get hurt. Sincerely, Chuck.
Good informative video. You can do a lot of damage with a tire changer if you do not know how to use it. That was a good decision on your part to take that work in house. I could do more videos on tools. I love tools!
The tire shops in my area offer lifetime balance/rotate/flat repair as part of the original mounting fee. However, they are stingy about repairing tires that are near end if life. If the tire has any spot, even a small one, that's 3/32" or less tread, the tire is considered worn out, and they won't repair it. Most of the tire could be at 5/32", but even a little shoulder wear and the shop says it unrepairable.
I watched this video and then Top Dead Centre's video on youtube. If you're both shouting about how good some of these products are, I may have to grab some! Keep up the good work Zach, always look forward to your content mate!
Both of those machines look like they are almost direct copies of machines that I used in the early 90’s working a part time job at a parts store while still in high school. Just quit a bit cheaper build quality but that doesn’t matter since you’re not mounting tires as a profession.
Yea, got a few thing off temu, no tools yet as i don't need any but it is not a bad site for canada, probably better in the states as almost everything is way cheaper down there
i have changed 100's of 1000's of tyres and in my 45 years of doing it NEVER ONCE damaged a rim or caliper.. i dont know what monkeys you take your wheels to but damn dude.... still a nice addition to a home shop a little tip when your changing tyres ALLWAYS Clean the Bead of the rim even if it looks clean...

@@ausubo50 awesome! I did not know this. Thank you! Learn something new everyday
seen some info on this some have a yellow dot as to where to line up the valve stem.. in addition to the red dot.
OMG I wonder how many folks will pause at 1:13? Now that is funny.
Just came to comment that, caught me off guard lmao. Younger sibling? Or is he trolling? Either way, hilarious.

The wheel balancer is nice for cleaning rims, just pop a bare rim on and spin it while holding sandpaper on the bead, they clean up nice!

Hi, hahaha 01:13. So funny! 🤣 Well done Zach!
Good man! Fully deserved advertising. Temu definitely has some great stuff, just need to do homework on products, everything so much cheaper & better
Loving the content! Bought Temu motorcycle lift, love your builds, thanks for the videos!

I ordered a similar setup off Amazon thinking I'd probably use it a couple times a year. We've probably done 60 tires in the 9 months I've had it.

Congrats. Will be a nice addition to the shop
Talk about a guy that is doing more with the space he has. Dang man, got to be time to find that perfect compound for all your builds.

Make sure you take the old wheel weights off before you balance the tires.

What size air compressor did you connect to it?
You should head over to a certified tire shop and see if your tires are accurately balanced
De-beading Zack 😅 I’m surprised you didn’t google search that 😂😅 just playing 😂 love from the Bay Area Cali
Those rim weights are usually put on the inside of the wheel (towards the car).
braking the Bead of the Tire of the rim !
Did you end up bolting down the balancer?
Hahaha. The google search was brilliant 😂
1:13 is incredible lmao
yes but what is it ??
Oh boy, what is Zach searching? 🤣
1:13 OMG!!!!! WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT??????
break the bead or de-bead the tire. not seed. ;)
6:20 BREAKS THE BEAD
you need to calibrate the balance machine first
I noticed the balancer in the red beetle video.
I have a tire appointment at 1pm and am now scared lol 😅
