Thank you! I am dyslexic and I struggle with the logistics most of the time. You made it work for my brain.
I have double points squared 😂 I am lazy like that because I do the ‘two at a time’ projects like mittens and glove, socks, sleeves.
I have to make my own (will have to stitch by hand) because I will need to store both sets in the same spot together. So the shorter pocket will hold the other set. I will have to work out the physics of the spacing but that is doable since I learned to sew from my mom who does dress designing. My machines need servicing and they are in storage. I do like stitching by hand though because it is a skill I learned at a young age and I needed the practice after all these years. I make my own projects bags complete with slide toggles and I-cord loop. The sense of satisfaction in the creation is great

Thank you for the pattern. I had to laugh when your kid screamed because I thought it was my kid in the next room and I was about to get up and go see why he was giving his caregiver a hard time. And I love that you kept in the part where your son is playing with his toys. This is the reality of trying to get any work done as a mom and I love to see it.

Thanks for the tutorial and the pattern. I made 3 of these for my friend who has an abundance of needles. She loved the first 2 I made and then asked for a 3rd one with fabric she made on her loom. It came out beautifully. I can't wait to give it to her.

Your tutorial is important for another reason. Some like myself keep multiple sets of double points to get the job done at the same time. I do the same thing with my circulars for sleeves and if I am doing fingerless mittens etc. We need more space and a good storage for the needles. As it is right now my double points are all over the place so I need a custom case. All of the cases on the market does not cut it (no pun intended) for my needs. I think they are designed by people who do not do magic loop. I Magic Loop all of the time and that is why I am lazy about double pointing one by one. I have these big 6mm and 6.5mm double points for sleeves when working Léttlopi & Ålafoss and they take room. I have four sets of 2mm for socks and gloves. And I have 1mm-1.75mm for the really fine stuff. Those I may have to make an addition to the case

The pink flap? It's to keep the needles/hooks from falling out.

To keep the presser foot from tucking the edge of the fabric down into the machine. It does that if you don’t have something in place or enough tension to keep the fabric moving at the onset of the stitching. I learned to stitch a piece on both sides so I can pull them to create the tension that the presser foot needs to get a grip and forward momentum. It is a neat trick. It gives the presser foot something else to do 😁

Jordanne I really love this tutorial. I will use this to employ some of my scrap patchwork to construct a home for my dps. I have a question: Would it work to sew the flap on three sides and enclose the unsewn side in the seam when you join the lining piece with the outside cover? That would reduce the bulk when enclosing the flap and ensure the flap is in that seam. Just thinking out loud here. Once again, I love the tutorial. Thank you to your son for sharing his lego creation. God bless Momma.

I thought about that but I like what Jordanne has done because, the flap is already double layered and when you have to stitch all the layers together it may become too bulky and stiff. But you can do a test run and see how it goes. It might work. And Jordanne still has to weigh in here to your query.

I must be inept at measuring! But the width of the lines that you give do not add up. The centre line is 67/8 " from the left Yet the width of the pockets on the left add up to 7" on the bottom piece. On the right hand side they add up to 7". 7 plus 7 is 14" ,
but we only cut that pice to 13.5" ???
On the top piece same thing The width of the pockets on left add ups to 7 but centre line is at 67/8"
On the right hand side it is accurate Help what am I doing wrong ??

What not lay the 2 pocket pieces down and stitch one straight line from fpthe bottom to top of pocket

You could ďo that. The shorter pockets may have different size pockets. I could see sewing the matching seams in one go. Good suggestion.
