actually this isn't true, in the manga he literally states in the first chapter that he's a minor. The anime made him older but besides that him, Kohei and Chisa are more than likely minors drinking alcohol at the end of the day.

For one of the funniest mangas out there. There are suprisingly amount of heartful and wholesome momments, and the characters are suprisingly deep. Highly recommend
I think you should give the anime a shot, it’s only 12 episodes and you might like it a lot more than the manga. The voice acting and editing are really important for comedic timing and effect, imo
Grand Blue was the most random find of mine in 2021 and it was THE best find of 2021. That stuff is so good and funny, it's just amazing. I honestly wasn't bored like you, but STILL, you have to consider that it has 14 published volumes (in English), and so far you've only read 3. Trust me, it gets waaaayy better later on. Plus there's around 20 more chapters that aren't published officially yet, so A LOT of material for you there. Whenever I was having a bad day or something I recall picking this up and it made it better. I re-read it the moment I got caught up. Definitely an amazing read!

I'm currently reading Hinamatsuri. This series has me belly laughing every volume, and it has some really wholesome moments, too. Tutor Hitamn Reborn! also has some great jokes in the first handful of volumes, but after the first 10 or so, it becomes more of a battle shonen.
Now THAT’S a good comedy manga! I was blown away by the anime which pushed me to read the manga and oh boy, I’m so glad I read it. It’s sad how criminally underrated, underwatched and underread it is
I’ve really only read 3 manga series that have made me laugh consistently or hard. Crows, GTO, and Ichi The Killer. Crows and GTO are both pretty funny GTO more than Crows but Crows is funny in a lot more of a wholesome way. There’s no fan service in it and I’m really thankful for that lmao. The same can’t be said for GTO tho. And while Ichi the Killer doesn’t have fan service it’s still extremely sexual but for plot and thematic purposes. I can see why people wouldn’t consider that a comedy at all because it’s just so god damn violent and disgusting BUT technically it is. I’m definitely also am biased on that because it’s my favourite series of all time but ah well

Slump story and art Akira Toriyama and this extremely funny anime that you can watch on UA-cam called Tentai Senshi Sunred all the episodes are approximate 10 minutes long.
There’s a manga that I’ve read recently, Magic and muscle, that’s extremely underrated but i found really funny. It’s basically Harry Potter if the main character was a very muscled muggle. Hilarious, hope it will get more recognition:)

imo one of the funniest anime/manga is monthly girls’ nozaki-kun. the anime has excellent comedic timing imo so the jokes always hit and the manga is a 4-koma that i def recommend continuing after the anime if you like it. it makes fun of common shoujo manga tropes (like how one punch man makes fun of shonen tropes). as a brief summary, it’s about a high school girl who crushes on this guy in school and he’s too dumb to realize despite secretly being a popular shoujo mangaka. the character interactions are abs hilarious (kinda like spy x family lol) and i recommend it to anyone. keep in mind that there’s no romantic development whatsoever. it’s pure comedy

Right now, I'm reading Nisekoi. I would never have thought that I would buy a story like that, but I wanted something different in my collection. And, I LOVE IT!!! It is hilarious! ( I have read 16 volumes of the 25) The art is great, story is wholesome, and the jokes are great! Many people say that the ending is bad, but I can't imangion it being that bad... Great video btw ;)

This is why i don't understand why people buy a bunch of volumes of a series. They end up putting an unnecessary amount of pressure on the series to like it. Only to end up spending so much to not like it. I saw a video of someone buying all of the singles of Gantz and hasn't even read it. Keep in mind that Gantz has 37 volumes, retailed at 13 dollars and its OOP. Apparently they are will to spend half a grand (But realistically, no one is selling gantz at retail) on a series that they may not like. Granted, they can sell it off again but still, why the hassle and chance of not liking it?
I think it is because alot of time volumes gets out of stock or even worse out of print. So people gets abit of FOMO(Fear of missing out). It would suck to buy the first 3-5 volumes and then when you try to buy volume 6 it's out of stock.
@@MeldinX2 I don't think you should be worried about that anymore. Especially for currently releasing series. Sure, it might happen like with magi (which i've already collected volumes for) but its best to know that you like the series than spent a ton of money on it. Also, the series may even get a re-release. Like Gantz for instance, there is the omnibuses releaseing right (but they look ass) but there may be a deluze edition after the omnibus run is finished this year.

Idk if you can find volumes of it but i definitely recommend Great Teacher Onizuka. Its the perfect comedy manga with amazing drama and lifelessons. Highly recommended
I agree with a lot of the other commenters, but to add to it, a lot of the reason it's so funny is for the same reasons One Punch Man is funny. It sets up certain expectations, just to break them with the same punchline. What I think it does better, in my opinion, is that it comes with different expectations in each set up. It started with Iori hoping to get away from his Boy's School Environment, but the diving club forced him to double down. (It's hinted at that he was a hard drinker in high school, though maybe the official manga translation toned that down.) It starts getting wholesome, nope Iori's past comes up. They dive and it's awesome, maybe they're gonna be serious. Nope dumb drinking party. Even, arguably, the most heart felt moment in the series is wrapped up in the envelope of "Iori is horny". And that, to me, is why it's so funny. It's this spiral of Iori (and friends) tripping themselves up set in a genuinely warm coming of age slice of life. It's made even better with the mangaka's little insert commentary to break the fourth wall.
I think the manga is pretty good and has funny moments. It has great moments that are hilarious, in between slice-of-life stuff. I think it takes a couple of volumes before you get invested with it though. I would say it is mainly a Slice-of-life manga with some comedic moments. That's why it feels like it has no real ''goal'' or direction, the characters are moving towards.
It's a anime about college students hanging out. There's nothing spectacular or overarching plot going on chase it's just trying to be a chill series where you can never really expect anything
This manga is like pineapple on a pizza. Either you love it or you hate it. The humor is hilarious but you need to have an open mind. If you frown upon underage people drinking alcohol, then you won't like the rest of the jokes as it gets wild.

You should watch the anime chase alot of the jokes aren't that funny cause your reading the jokes while the character in the anime tells the joke in a more enthusiastic way which makes it that much better

I feel like the anime was WAY more adequate as a medium for this kind of humor. The fact that they don't dive often is itself a joke. Even Iori forgets at some point. They are more a drinking/party club. It's the same kind of humor as Blue Mountain State. Lots of testosterone and group dumbness make some funny scenarios.
I think this is a good video but definitely focusing on the wrong things, I watched the anime and then watched the manga up to the latest chapter, i never really felt that the jokes were repetitive, i couldn't tell you why tbh. Going into this expecting prison school level plot is wrong imo, its a comedy slice of life really. What you said for volume 1, minors drinking, and cousin love, may sound bad but the minor drinking part is humor and not to be taken seriously(in the anime they are actually aged up and there is a disclaimer for every episode) and Iori's father was adopted so he isn't blood related.
Interesting. I actually sold my volume because I didn't find it that interesting. Who knows, maybe the rest of the volumes are hilarious, but I guess I'll never know.

A friend bought the first 3 volumes so I borrowed them, it was a total miss for me. The friend liked them though.

I think this is a good video but definitely focusing on the wrong things, I watched the anime and then watched the manga up to the latest chapter, i never really felt that the jokes were repetitive, i couldn't tell you why tbh. Going into this expecting prison school level plot is wrong imo, its a comedy slice of life really. What you said for volume 1, minors drinking, and cousin love, may sound bad but the minor drinking part is humor and not to be taken seriously(in the anime they are actually aged up and there is a disclaimer for every episode) and Iori's father was adopted so he isn't blood related.
Personally i think Gintama is the funniest, perhaps even funnier than this

Interesting. I actually sold my volume because I didn't find it that interesting. Who knows, maybe the rest of the volumes are hilarious, but I guess I'll never know.

The funniest manga for me atm is 'the way of the household husband' (hope that's the right English title). It doesn't really have a plot / goal, but it's very entertaining :D
