I used to resent Bon Jovi for moving away from their big-haired glam metal/hard rock style from the 80's which was fun but times were changing and things were coming of age. I never understood until it happened to me and how my life experiences shaped me. I'm definitely not the same as I was in my twenties.
While I haven't really explored much of what Bon Jovi did beyond 2000, the two albums they made in the 90's really reflected changing times in the world and coming of age, especially These Days. The wisdom in that album is more relevant today than it ever has been. So I appreciate those albums more than ever today.
The same thing happened with Metallica, the changing times and coming of age for them manifested in the form of Load, Reload and even S&M.

Jon's speaking voice sounds so different from 1996 to 2006.

Those are exactly my thoughts. By 2007 his speaking voice became deeper. From the 90s-2006 his voice was softer and more boyish. Also his looks were softer. That’s why it seems like he never aged
Actually mid 90s till 2006 it’s my favorite Jon Bon Jovi era in the sex appeal department.
musically speaking it’s a longer period that i love which is from slippery when wet till the circle.
Though I do like Jon’s looks a lot in the 80s too. Love so much how he looks in the living on a prayer video and you were born to be my baby.
