Yes, it's sums up that the announcers thought the ref said "down by contact" and were confused. When in reality, the ref said "The fumble recovered by the offense is under further review" which means that the call on the field was never questioning the fumble as the dumb announcers suggested. It was saying that #49 for NDSU recovered the ball after the fumble. And the Incarnate Word player was trying to steal the ball after NDSU possessed it. That was the ruling.

If Boise State, San Diego State and-or Fresno State leave the Mt. West to join the Pac-12 I wonder if a program like NDSU might be a sensible candidate to move up to the Mt. West as a replacement. There are questions, but the level of play of the Bison football team is not one of them, they would definitely be competitive in the Mt. West. A comparison with Wyoming, I.E. the market, the school, the overall athletic program would be a good indicator as to whether it would make sense.

    • @paidtourist6563
      @paidtourist6563 Рік тому

NDSU's athletic director already said that they have turned down a few G5 conferences who invited them into their FBS conferences. The thing you have to realize is that most G5 conferences are basically the same competition as the conference NDSU currently plays in. In fact, I think there's only 1 or 2 teams in their entire FCS conference that doesn't have a win over a power 5 team. The MVFC is basically already a G5 conference. So NDSU doesn't need to move up for competition.
So what's another reason they should realistically move up. Money? NDSU doesn't play for money. They don't care about money. They want Nattys. But let's go down the "money" conversation. NDSU would also have to increase their athletic budget for ALL sports and they might not have the funding for that long-term. Plus then you run into the fact that NDSU has a tradition of championships. Even if NDSU moved into a G5 conference and in 2024 the playoffs go to 12 teams, it would still be very hard to get a #12 or higher ranking as a G5 school. Tulane is currently ranked #12 but they also beat Kansas State on the road and beat UCF who was also ranked. They had one hell of a season. NDSU would have to do that or better every year just to MAYBE be able to compete for a Natty.
NDSU is looking for an opportunity that fits their culture of winning championships. They won't budge for anything less than a power 5 invite or if a G5 school kicks out the shit teams and invites other good G5 teams so that the strength of schedule is more favorable to be highly ranked, then NDSU might go for it. Til then, salty fans will have to keep watching NDSU knock their teams out of the playoffs.

NDSU lost Josh Hayes who transferred to Virginia and then transferred to Kansas State where he started and was their most consistent and maybe 2nd most talented DB and will probably be in the NFL next year.

NDSU lost their future NFL draft pick RB (Hunter Luepke) for the season a few weeks ago to a shoulder injury.
NDSU lost their future NFL draft pick TE (Noah Gindorff) for the season a few weeks ago.
NDSU lost a starting OL (Jalen Sundell) a few weeks ago.
NDSU lost a starting RB (Tamerik Williams) last week who was on crutches after he came back to the sidelines.
NDSU lost another starting WR (Raja Nelson) to an injury when he was carted off the field last week.
NDSU lost a starting LB (Luke Weerts) a few weeks ago)
NDSU lost starting DE (Jake Kava) a fee weeks ago.
NDSU lost another DL (Loshiaka Roques) in today's game who didn't return after impacting the game with a fumble recovery today.
NDSU lost starting OL (Mason Miller 6'6" 300lbs) to an injury a few weeks ago.
Let's review...NDSU was down 17 starters...That's right SEVENTEEN STARTERS...And still won the game. Imagine if NDSU had all 17 of those starters playing the whole game. This wouldn't have even been a close game.
NDSU was literally held together by bubble gum and superglue and was actually contemplating starting some true freshman just to fill positions. So for all the Incarnate Word ppl who think they almost beat the mighty Bison...You almost beat NDSU's 8th stringers and water boys lol

Then why are you bitching at NDSU for recruiting 2 and 3 star athletes that they develope into NFL prospects?? You realize that NDSU has NEVER had any recruit over 3 stars in the history of the program? And yet they churn out NFL talent every year.
That being said, it's actually NDSU that gets FBS teams to "poach" players. FBS teams see who NDSU is offering and those FBS teams then offer those same players in hopes of stealing NDSU recruits. It's not the other way around.
NDSU steals recruits from FBS teams because those FBS teams ONLY offer those players AFTER NDSU has already built a damn solid relationship for a while. Those players remain loyal to NDSU as a result. And NDSU has gotten players to keep their commitments to NDSU over the likes of Missouri, Kansas State, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Rutgers, Minnesota, Virginia Tech, and Boise State. NDSU's coach calls it the "Bison Effect" when NDSU offers a scholarship to a player and then ONLY because NDSU offers a scholarship, power 5 teams come knocking at that player's door with an offer. Wisconsin, Minnesota, and a few others have sniped NDSU recruits that way. It's literally NEVER the other way around. So keep crying yourself to sleep

@@whatthehellol1610 Well, a lot of ppl complain about NDSU winning all the time, but it's only fans of teams that aren't NDSU lol. NDSU is in the same boat as everyone else for the most part. They get 2 and 3 star recruits at best. NDSU just does a better job at developing those players. NDAU turned a 240lbs walk-on into a 300+lbs NFL draft pick and superbowl champion OL. NDSU turned a DB who Minnesota didn't want into an NFL draft pick who at one point was leading the NFL in INTs with 6 before injury. NDSU turned a 3-star QB who Minnesota didn't want as a QB into a #3 overall draft pick basically as a sophomore. There's a good chance that not even Oklahoma or Alabama would have been able to do that.
NDSU is different. They do everything in-house, don't cut any corners, and their strength coach used to train Olympic athletes before he came to NDSU. When I say "They work hard." That's an understatement. One kid thought he came to NDSU in-shape. He passed out from the NDSU workouts. That's how hard they work at NDSU. Most programs don't even understand that type of work ethic. NDSU lives it every year

In the game of football, when the ref says "The ruling of a fumble recovered by the offense is under further review" that means that there was a fumble and it was recovered by the offense. If you actually look at the play insteadof listeningto the clueless announcers, #49 for NDSU is laying on the ball right in front of a ref who therefore said, "NDSU recovered the ball."

No they didn't. It's insane that I even have to explain how football works to football fans...but here we are
The announcers for some reason thought that the refs said the runner was "down by contact." That was not true. The ref clearly stated that the "fumble recovered by the offense is under further review." That means the ruling on the field was a fumble, recovered by the offense. And if you look at the play again, #49 for NDSU is laying on the ball as the Incarnate Word player is trying to steal possession with 1 arm. That most likely means that the NDSU player had possession for long enough while the ref was watching him have possession and the ruling was that NDSU recovered the fumble. If you listened to the announcers, you will be confused. If you listened to the refs, you would have understood. Now, should the call have been "confirmed"? Probably not since we didn't have a solid enough angle. But the play would have stood as called because the NDSU player was laying on the ball as the closest ref called "recovered by the offense." So really, the refs didn't ruin the game.
Also, if we want to talk about refs ruining the game, we're was the pass interference call on Incarnate Word on the NDSU WR in the endzone?

You could argue that the "ruling on the field is confirmed" was a bad call since we didn't have a great angle.
