- Join us at the Log Cabin Pancake House in Gatlinburg Tennessee for a couple of orders of Pancakes. We will try the Buckwheat cakes and some Caribbean ones also. The Log Cabin Pancake House is very popular and it's a place we have never gone to before this day. I tried to take you around the inside as best as I could it was very crowded. So let's go inside the Log Cabin Pancake House and see what it's all about.

Bobbie's pancakes looked so good. I would definitely try that. The atmosphere reminded me a little of Cracker Barrel

Love the rustic cabin look. Never had a buck wheat cake but used to drink butter milk with black pepper as a child. Tried it about 10 years ago and 🤮. I'm with Bobby on this one.

Yes, I remember. We always had a box of Aunt Jemima Buckwheat mix at home. Can't find it anymore. I think the last time I could buy it was in the early 70's. Melaney from SoCal, I'm old too!

Im glad to see they offered child's and Senior menu, I've never seen that before. Buckwheat is supposed to be very healthy. Both plates look delicious!

We were there a year and a half ago in Dec. and walked in from Anakeesta for lunch. They put us by the fireplace, maybe because we looked cold. If not mistaken, I think our server was named Mary also. We really enjoyed all aspects of eating there. Plenty of food, service was great and great atmosphere. Will be going back to eat there again, whenever we make it back down there. John, glad you didn't offer a taste of your cakes. If my wife had taken the bite, you'd have to have an epipen close. She is alergic to pineapple.

I like these kind of restaurants. I do not eat pancakes because they're not very healthy and they are fattening but they did look good. I would rather have two eggs over easy, home fries and link sausage. If I had a choice I would pick French toast over pancakes. You are both a lot of fun. That building is impressive and the pancakes looked delicious! Bobbi if you get some country ham to bring home you just have to soak it in some water until you get enough salt out to make it to your liking. It really is wonderful stuff. Also that sugar ham would go great on my homemade sourdough bread!! Happy Saturday!!

I love all the college football banners in there! I am not big on the buckwheat cakes, so I would stick with regular cakes! I love Bobbie's though I would just love the banana parts (and leave off cocoanut and pecans). The prices are so reasonable at this place (also were reasonable at the apple orchard that you ate at!). I love how they give you a big plate so you can eat your pancakes. Most places just dump them on a tiny plate and the syrup and everything goes everywhere! This log cabin looks so adorable! I can see why this place is packed.

Yay! You went to one of our favorite restaurants in Gatlinburg. We have been going there since1976, when we got married. We used to go to the Smokies every year-our favorite vacation spot. When our children came along, we took them to the Log Cabin Pancake House. It became a tradition. Then we tried lunch there-very good and not crowded at all. Their hamburgers are delicious! We haven't been to the Smokies in a few years, but when we go back, we will definitely be eating at the Log Cabin Pancake House. Lunch meals are extra special when the weather is cold and they have the fireplace going! It was wonderful when they added the parking lot! Thanks. Pam Miller

Love this place..love the cabin look…. Haven’t had buck wheat cakes since I was a kid….I didn’t remember them having a sour taste…. When I make my pancakes.. I like mine super thin….I’m not in to fruit being on my pancakes…lots of butter and lots of syrup!!!!This looks like my kind of place..❤❤

I love buckwheat pancakes but can hardly ever find them, or even the mix. Never tasted bitter or sour to me. The buckwheat mix usually has some regular flour also. I like blueberries in my buckwheat pancakes, like I said when i can find them. The only thing I noticed I didn't like was Margarine. I'd bring my own butter!

I think they get sour from the yeast, and they let them sit out a few days, and some people use buttermilk in the batter.😎😎

I ate there when I was a kid...about 45 years ago. It must have been right after they opened. There was a little manmade stream with stocked fish somewhere behind the building and kids could fish in it...for a price.

Buckwheat pancakes were often served when we grew up. Dad loved them. Mom's recipe was never sour, but they had great flavor. The sour might come if the chef uses buttermilk?????

They were good but probably not the best I ever had. The Buckwheat Festival is in kingwood West Virginia. We have a few videos on it. Thank you for the compliment on my hair. I appreciate it. If you go to Graceland.com you might find the EP glasses. 😎😎

Buck wheat pan cakes always had a stronger taste to me not a fan. There is sugar cured ham and bacon and salt curd ham or bacon . Usually on salt cuerd ham you soak it first for a few minutes before you cook it .That way you taste the salt but it's not over powering to your pallet/ mouth. I remember my grandparents curing hams both ways.We never used sour dough starter to pan cakes.We just made regular pan cakes. But if I had to choose it's waffles. Lol 😂
