Hi Matt, nice haul! Hothouse is cool, as it were. It's like 5 linked short stories, some of which I loved, one or two less so. His writing is great, of course. I loved the descriptions of the wild plant life. Look forward to seeing the holiday haul. I just recorded a giant haul video, should be up during the week. 👍
Tim Hortons!, we like going there whenever we are in Canada. I just got The Sky is Filled with Ships too, its in my next book haul. I'm a bit torn on Pamela Sargent, I mostly liked the first Venus book and would eventually like to read the rest but they are really long. I hope you like Hothouse, amazing world building and kind of funny at times due to the predicaments the characters get into. I'd like to read some Piserchia, not sure where to start though. Love all the cover art.
Thanks for the reminder! I didn't find anything I needed to repack the apartment for, but that's not for lack of wonderful things! (Including 2 books I would have grabbed if I hadn't recently bought them for more, in terrible condition - that were in his Bargain Bin!)
Hothouse is one of my favorites. I read it years ago, definitely worth a reread. My copy is pretty beaten up, but I think it has the different version of the cover you showed.
I've been trying to find a copy of Adliss's "Hothouse", so far to no avail. I read his "Greybeard" which I liked a lot. I really enjoy his writing. The story had a couple issues for me, but overall it was very good. Nice haul, I'll check out that site.
It saddens me that today’s SciFi books don’t have those crazy cool covers. I wonder what the last crazy cover was before publishers decided to switch over. Some new covers are nice but no comparison to the older books
I need a website like that near me. I'm always trying to find Lieber but never see the first one anywhere. I've only read Non-Stop and Greybeard by Aldiss but both were good.
Thank you for introducing me to The Bookstore on Pluto. I live in the Netherlands and it's almost impossible to find a bookstore similar to this and it seems he does international shipping. Most books over here all have the much uglier modern covers, the oldies look a lot better.
nice book haul, so far my favourite Aldiss books have been Hothouse and Greybeard can't wait to find out which Aldiss book you read that you weren't keen on. Just finished Zothique stories by Clark Ashton Smith which I think you were reading and looking forward to your thoughts on it.
Hope you and your wife are doing a bit better. I see the picture of your sweet boy. Grief is a long, long road. All the best to you both.
Thankyou♥We're doing okay now. First few weeks were indescribable.
Thanks for the shoutout Matt! I enjoyed Hothouse, it's a little on the bizarre "out-there" side but I love those types of books. 🙂

Some really interesting picks there. I loved Hothouse, it goes to some weird and wonderful places. Keen to hear your thoughts on it.
Thanks! Happy to have found your channel through your comment. Looking forward to more!
The cover art on Candy Man by Vincent King is from Patrick Woodroffe. The book is apparently a bit of a cult classic!
Thankyou! And thanks for watching!
I'm going to a book sale tomorrow. Hoping for some bangers!
Goodluck in your search!

I bought so many books from them after watching this video! Thanks for sharing!
Awesome! Thanks for watching!

@@sciencefictionreads I think you'll love it! It's unique, to say the least lol
Dawg I CANNOT find Hot House in the wild to save my life
@@willp2877 I don’t think I’ve ever seen it in the wild myself. Good luck in your search!
Same. I've been searching for some time now. Good luck!

Hey - thanks for covering this material. You’ve turned me on to a couple of authors I hadn’t checked out. Much appreciated 🙏
Thanks for watching!

Gate of Ivrel is one of my favorite books ever! Just fits right into my niche

After watching this I now wanna read sci-fi again
