I love how you feel the Bible can be so morally objectionable and violent at times so as to necessitate censoring the word but then don’t see any problem with that, nor its total incompatibility with the tone, themes, and messages of the New Testament
I haven’t seen anyone highlight the reflection of their friendship yet, but real quick-remember that the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is about redemption through Jesus. Yes, even the Old Testament. It often includes ‘foreshadowing’ of Jesus, and David is one of those figures. If you look closely at David and Jonathan’s relationship, it does stand out from typical friendships-they made a covenant, Jonathan chose David over his own father, and even gave up his rights to kingship. When we read this passage through the lens of redemption in Jesus, we begin to see the foreshadowing. Just as Jesus said, ‘Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?’ and pointed to His disciples, we also have a covenant with Christ. We love Him more than our own lives, laying them down to follow Him rather than pursuing our own ways. The relationship between Jonathan and David hints at the depth of our covenant with Christ.
Even if David and Jonathan and Ruth and Naomi were romantic, (which they were not); how does that negate God's law forbidding the practice of same-sex relations/LGBTQAI; the Bible still teaches against homosexuality/LGBTQAI and it will not change because you think David and Jonathan give you an excuse to justify the act. Just because someone jumps off a building and into a fire for whatever reason why would you follow them; if you read Psalm 51 you'll see that David repented of all the sins he committed which were Murder, Adultery, abuse of power, and trying to cover up his crimes. If he had sex with Jonathan, he repented of that to, you, people fail to see that part because you think you have he gives you an excuse to commit the sexually immoral sin of same-sex relation which is SINFUL LOVE. The bottom line, you don't have an excuse.
A Semper Fi spirit.... A marine would quickly die for another brother. In the Tombstone or Wyatt Earp movie, Wyatt told his brothers, "Wives will come and go, but brothers are for life."
If you believe David and Jonathan were "lovers," you need to understand this, there is SINFUL LOVE! God created the male and female for them to love and be with each other, that is a Biblical fact and will not change Gen 1:27-28, Gen 2:22-24 affirmed by Jesus in Matt 4:5. If a man loves another man romantically or a woman loves another woman romantically and they acts out their feelings sexually, it is sinful love; for example, David loved and wanted Bathsheba, and had her husband killed so he could have her, his SINFUL LOVE caused him to commit murder, and adultery which are sins; also, as a result, a baby died 2 Sam 11. Examples of sinful love Fornication Adultery Homosexuality/LGBTQAI Love of the world 1 John 2:15-17, which is the cause of SINFUL LOVE. You can believe that David, Jonathan, Ruth, and Naomi were romantic, but you can't show where God accepted it, blessed it, and called it good love/love is love, because the Bible still teaches that same-sex relations/LGBTQAI is a sexually immoral sin- SINFUL LOVE.
Yes, they married each other, Saul cussed Johnathan out and called him a pervert for loving David, and that he was ashamed of women like his own mother.
Where does the Bible say they were married? In 2 Sam 1:26, David only expressed that his love for Jonathan's friendship was better than that of a woman, in no way does that mean they were in a romantic relationship; the LGBTQAI is twisting 1 Sam 20-30 to say they were lovers and married. David and Jonathan were not lovers (neither were Ruth and Naomi) even if we assume they were lovers the Bible still does not condom homosexuality/LGBTQIA. David committed adultery and then tried to cover it up by killing his lover's husband. The Bible clearly doesn't condone Murder, Adultery, or Fornication. There is no good reason to believe the Bible is presenting David and Jonathan as in a romantic relationship as homosexuals. But even if it does that still does not change the fact the Bible still teaches that homosexuality is a sin just Adultery, Fornication, or Lust. Even if someone interprets their relationship as romantic that does not further their argument that Christians should accept the LGBTQAI as what God made and intended for males and females to be. God only blesses man and wife (male and female) Gen 1:27-28, Gen 2:22-24 confirmed by Jesus in Matt 19:4-5 For this reason, a man shall leave his father and mother to be with his wife, and the two shall become one, what God has put together let no man take apart. God gave no instructions, or blessing for homosexual/LGBTQAI marriage, nor same-sex relations; you can try to twist every Bible verse that teaches that homosexuality is in fact a sin, but it still won't be the truth.
I dare you to prove homosexuality/LGBTQIA is not a sexually immoral sin according to the Scripture. I dare you to show where they were lovers because 1 Sam 20:30-31 shows that Jonathan was in love with Jesse, the son of his enemy. You can love your friends, but that doesn't mean you have sex with them; that's only in your sick mind.
@@armymanssg508 I’m not quite sure that you even know what all those acronyms mean?? The A there is referring to being asexual, so for those folks they aren’t having sex at all. I agree on the notion of not having sex with your friends, which is something I don’t subscribe to in my life. If you are going back to the sex part from Leviticus, those passages are dealing with one specific sexual act between two men and that one act alone. If you understand how the Jews view the scriptures it was entirely based on the act, not one’s proclivities. Being gay is far more than just having sex.
I know what they all mean, and it's all ridiculous to me; when they add the QIA, they are saying they agree with that community's defiance, denial, and hatred of God's law against the practice of same-gender sex, so they are the same as written in Rom 1:32. Rom 1:24-28, 1 Cor 6:9-11, and Rev 21:8-10 deal with both men and women; the word gay meant to be happy up until it was hijacked by the LGBTQIA community to conceal the truth of what they really are; sexually immoral Sodomites and haters of God's law. The LGBTQIA community is nothing but a lie this society has exchanged for the truth. Rom 1:25.
@@armymanssg508 Romans 1 was describing Romans in general not specifically gays and lesbians. There are a lot of us who indeed love the Lord.
